Diplomatic negotiations in geopolitical conflicts often break down when leaders dismiss proposals without serious consideration, as demonstrated by President Trump's characterization of Iran's peace proposal as 'stupid' and 'garbage,' which contributed to the escalation of US-Iran tensions over the Strait of Hormuz crisis.

Trump says Iran ceasefire on “Life Support” | US-Iran tensions escalate over Hormuz crisisAdded:
All right, shifting focus now. US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the ceasefire with Iran was on life support after dismissing Thrron's response to a US peace proposal as stupid. Trump said he is considering restarting naval escorts previously dubbed project freedom through the home strait as he seeks complete victory in the war. Trump warned that Iran's rejection over the weekend of Washington's demands is now unbelievably weak.
We're going to have a complete victory.
We've already in theory had a complete victory from the military standpoint.
Their military, look, their navy is dead. They have they had 159 ships right now. They have zero other than the little speedboats that go around that got taken out eight a day by us. Uh they have no air force. They have no anti-aircraft. It It's unbelievably weak. I always say I would call it the weakest right now after reading the piece of garbage they sent us. I didn't even finish reading it. I said I'm not going to waste my time reading it. I would say it's one of the weakest right now. It's on life support.
>> Meanwhile, Iran has called for an end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon. Thran also demanded compensation for war damage, an end to the US naval blockade, a guarantee of no further attacks, and resumption of Iranian oil sales. Thran also emphasized its sovereignty over the street of Homus, where it has shut down shipping traffic. Iran's parliament speaker said his country's military stood ready to teach a lesson to any aggressor after Trump warned that the ceasefire hanging by a threat.
All right, DD India's Akshai Dongray joins us for more on this. Hi Akshai, how serious is President Trump's statement that the ceasefire is on life support? Does this indicate a possible collapse of diplomatic efforts? And what next?
Well, Abishek, given the fact that Donald Trump has done things that were unimaginable, you know, in a manner, acting like the US president, anything is possible right now. It may be that one fine morning he wakes up feeling or having a bad dream perhaps that things are not going to work out and you know in in that whimsy take a decision uh to completely end the ceasefire or probably he has a good morning and then he decides to uh you know go ahead with the ceasefire even perhaps reduce the hostility. So it all depends on the whimsies uh you whims and fancies of a of a of a man who is occupying one of the highest seats in the world especially the democratic world you know and that uh this not a vague statement that I'm giving uh it's and I'll tell you why I'm saying this you know you are already in a conflict with with the nation with whom you had 50 years of hostilities now you know the the war has broken out that's impacting the entire world that's impacting global choke point tax rate of hormones that's impacting the the developing world, the global south especially adversely affecting them. Increasing price of the crude oil, increasing price of basic commodities, countries going into recession, countries not being able to feed its own poop people, especially the poor. And here the US president says that he did not even read the agreement because he found it and calling it a a piece of garbage. He and you know the entire the statement itself that he did not even bother to read it shows the seriousness that is there as far as the US administration is concerned and in in these negotiations and that is a concerning part because you know everyone is suffering because of this conflict. People did not choose to start especially the global uh global south especially the developing economies yet they are facing the highest burden. USA is sitting you know some several thousand miles away from Iran and this entire region which is facing this catastrophe and you know not even taking serious looks at at the negotiation making serious efforts whereas Trump also said that you know thinks that he will get bored he will get tired or he will feel the pressure and and see that he will he does not feel any pressure at all talking indirectly about the pressure from the global economy and the global countries that are facing that that are facing the brunt of this this entire crisis or even perhaps at the domestic front where the crude oil in the US also are rising at a rapid pace now. So you know at least what could have been done is is is a professional way of handling things at least taking a look at the negotiation coming up with counter proposal that is how diplomacy works and not by calling the adversities proposal as a piece of garbage and and you know speaking to the world that you the the top leader of your country did not even bother to read it and that seems not only disrespectful but very unserious as well under the given circumstances. Actually, what about negotiation sense that Iran has termed the US demands unreasonable?
What exactly are the sticking points preventing a breakthrough?
>> Well, you know, the ending of US naval blockade is one thing.
>> Second is Iran expects now a system where it can collect tools from the state of Hormuz. That is another third remains obviously the compensation of the entire conflict and this is where it seems things may have broken down because that's that's not only US accepting that it it it carried out a conflict you know violating rules but also paying for that for that entire damage that was done to the to the nation and demanding it out loud in front of the world. So that is it seems where Trump faced humility perhaps humiliation rather perhaps and you know wanted to wanted to give out a message in in a manner that that seems perhaps very strong or very rigid in nature.
>> All right we'll leave it at that. Thank you for your inputs.
