This weather forecast explains that Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer with higher humidity and increased rain chances in the Tampa Bay area. The forecast details that rain will primarily affect inland areas east of I-75, with coastal areas experiencing a break from rain. Key indicators include dew points in the low to mid-70s, which signal the approach of summer conditions. The pattern is driven by an upper-level low pressure system off the east coast, creating strong southeast winds that transport moisture from the tropics. Rain chances will increase through the weekend, particularly on Sunday and Memorial Day, with storms expected in late afternoon and early evening.

Some rain showers possible through Memorial Day weekend追加:
Remember feels a lot cooler than what it is right now. You bring in Dennis again.
I I two observations today. One, the humidity got cranked up. I don't know if you guys felt that. And then two, the love bugs like full scale evasion.
>> Oh, so you are usually that's a May and September thing for the love bugs. And I've going to said this many many times he is a human hygrometer.
>> Hydrometer, that's it.
>> Hygrometer, [clears throat] that's Hygrometer, G. G, oh with a G.
>> Hygrometer, that is actually how you determine the humidity. [laughter] It's a weather geek thing.
>> No, I love it. And and yeah, he knows cuz he's right. Humidity kind of bumped up.
>> it? It does. [laughter] And today there are people at the beach now finally you can go today because it's sunny and not storming like it was this time yesterday where they had 3, 4, and in some cases 7 inches of rain fell last night in northern Pinellas and southwestern Pasco County all the way down to Sarasota and Manatee as well. What was it again? How do you pronounce that, Nadia? Hygrometer with a G.
I think I got it. Learn something every day. It's a hygrometer and there is a use for a hygrometer with the high humidity out there and it continues in even more so into the holiday weekend.
Now, we always think of the Memorial Day weekend as the unofficial beginning of the summer season and the summer season often has higher humidity and a better chance of rain, which is what we are going to see this weekend. Tonight though, the best rain chances will be along and east of I-75. So, if you live along the coast, nope, not today. You had it yesterday, you had it day before yesterday, you're going to get a break.
Inland areas begging for rain and I'm hearing it, you're going to see some.
Will it be widespread? No, but you've got two days where there's a chance each day for late day early evening storms.
Right now, some rain falling across areas from Lake Wales down to Frostproof and in northern Highlands County as well.
Got all that heat out there, low to middle 90s from Lakeland to Wesley Chapel to Riverview, upper 80s along the coast. The water temperature now creeping up a little bit as well. So, there it is. You notice the dew point, like I said, over 70 is often considered you start to notice it. And we now have dew points in the low to mid-70s even without the rain falling at the airport.
So, that's really kind of our telltale sign that we're getting closer to that time of the year. So, is this another chance of some showers inland. Now, one of the main reasons we're actually in this pattern, it is not just the quote unquote rainy season. Get an upper-level low off to our east and there's a real strong southeast wind with it. When you see that, that pumps all this moisture from down in the tropics into our area.
So, one, we get humidity, but two, we get a better chance of storms. And look at where it's all setting up later this evening and again tomorrow. Inland areas. Why different from yesterday?
Because the easterly wind that we had yesterday, which pinned the sea breeze right along the shore, which is why we had a range along the coast, is weaker today. So, that means the gulf breeze makes it farther in. Where that collision occurs is where the rains will pop. And we talked about this yesterday.
It'll be again tomorrow. Same thing.
Inland areas mostly along and east of I-75.
But into the weekend, we're back into more of a southeast flow, more of a tropical connection, and especially on Sunday and Memorial Day, we're going to see better coverage even back toward the coast. But it will be late day stuff.
So, if you need to make plans outdoors this weekend, you have those graduations, there's barbecues, there's all sorts of stuff going on. The morning and the early afternoon is your friend.
Late afternoon, early evening, you're going to be dodging some raindrops. With temperatures right about where they're supposed to be. And you can kind of see it. Coverage not all that great tomorrow. Coverage not all that great on Friday.
Saturday, Sunday, and Memorial Day, you can see we start to see that better coverage. And again, it goes back toward the coast because we are going to see those winds out of the southeast return.
And that kind of in a nutshell is your forecast right on through the holiday.
There's a look at the 7-day. High temperatures in the lower 90s, morning lows in the mid to upper 70s. For Memorial Day, I think it's looking pretty good most of the day, but again after 3:00 or 4:00, watch out for those storms. Again, highs right about where they should be in the low 90s, Dinnie.
