But Tusha's family and their lawyer Anurra Shawastav alleged this surrender attempt was strategically planned to avoid direct police action.

Shvastav even alleged that when pressure mounted to open the room, Sam allegedly shifted to the bar association chamber. The family says this points to influence being used because Sam's mother Gerbala Singh is a retired judge.

However, before the surrender proceedings could conclude, Bopal police took him into custody from the Jabalpur court premises itself and brought him back to Bhopal overnight. The case has also intensified after the high court allowed a second postmortem while the bar council of India suspended Sam Singh's license from legal practice and court has sent him to a 7-day police remand.
