DK Shivakumar’s Karnataka Cabinet Formula Takes Shape Ahead Of Oath | India Today追加:
After Karnataka's prolonged chief ministerial saga, D.K. Shivakumar is set to take oath tomorrow in a low-key event. While D.K. Shivakumar has secured the chief minister's chair, composition of his cabinet remains a work in progress. The chief minister designate is expected to finalize his team after consultations with the Congress high command. Both D.K. Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah are in Delhi to discuss the cabinet formation with the Congress leadership. The two leaders were unable to meet the high command yesterday and are likely to discuss the cabinet formula today. Now, sources say that 10 to 12 ministers are likely to be sworn in in the first phase. Several aspirants are setting claim on the post.
Siddaramaiah's son and Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah has said that Rahul Gandhi had assured him that his interests will be taken care of, adding that he would be happy with any portfolio. Karnataka minister M.C.
Sudhakar is in Delhi, too, to meet the party leaders and has also said that he hopes to be given another opportunity to continue serving Karnataka. So, all eyes are now on the Congress high command as it works out the final cabinet blueprint in Karnataka.
>> Did you get any assurance that you are you going to get any ministry or something?
>> Yeah, last time when I had visited high command, Rahul Gandhi ji said that my interests will be taken care of and he said you will be inducted to the cabinet. So, I'm hopeful.
>> Sir, are you going to become a DCM, sir, or any any DCM post?
>> for any of those things. Whatever the portfolio high command gives, I'll be happy. High command has not given any specific time.
I've heard that K.C. Venugopal sir ji has not yet reached Delhi. So, whenever he reaches Delhi, then we'll be sure when the meeting will happen. suggestion in the last meeting, but there will be there will be a detailed discussions regarding those. Only then we will come to know about the advantage and disadvantages when they discuss about it. So, we will see.
>> Already the bus is in garage.
See now, only driver is changed.
After Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar is coming.
Bus is same.
But driver is changing.
I think no Already Siddaramaiah made a Entire state now become the loan state now.
This is a gift of Mr. Siddaramaiah.
How can Mr. DK Shivakumar will manage this loans?
>> All irrespective of party, irrespective of caste, we are all happy to see our DK Shivakumar ji as a CM of Karnataka.
So and moreover, we have a lot of dreams for the development of our district, Kanakapura including all our five taluks.
Kanakapura, Magadi, Channapatna, Kanakapura, this Ramanagara and Harohalli. We have five taluks. So all our five taluks people, irrespective of all party people are now we have a plan to go for a good development in our district.
>> I don't know. I don't know. That will be decided only in in the meeting by the high command only. Nobody knows.
>> I am now again uh come here to ask them to kindly give a opportunity to serve the government as well as the party.
So I'm planning to meet the leaders in Delhi.
So let's see what the high command uh feels and uh what will be their decision.
>> And now let us understand why is DK Shivakumar opting for a low-key oath ceremony tomorrow, that is on June 3rd at the Lok Bhavan. So, he wants to minimize the traffic disruption as as it's a working day, it's a Wednesday, and uh the oath ceremony will be taking place in the evening. So, he does not want traffic disruptions because of the oath-taking ceremony. He wants to avoid public inconvenience because he's said to become the Chief Minister, he needs to think about the public as well. He needs to He wants to reduce the risk of stampede-like situation, which is very very much possible as uh so many workers wanted to attend this event, but he has made it clear that this is going to be a low-key event, and there will be uh live broadcast that will be done at the Congress uh headquarters and the Congress offices for the party workers.
The focus is now on the governance approach as uh he's now all set to take oath as the Chief Minister. So, he needs to focus on governance rather than a grand event of oath ceremony. So, he wants to present a humble public image that he's not causing any disruption uh to uh to the public or any inconvenience to the public because of his oath-taking ceremony. So, that is the idea behind opting for a low-key oath-taking ceremony.
Now, let's also take a look at the Siddaramaiah's cabinet wishlist, the demands that have been raised by Siddaramaiah. So, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, who's uh Siddaramaiah's younger son and also the political heir, is now an MLC, has been uh MLA from Varuna, and uh then then comes uh Byrathi Suresh for He's a core loyalist of Siddaramaiah, and he's also a prominent Kuruba community leader.
Kuruba is the community from which Siddaramaiah also hails. And then comes Basavaraj Rayareddy, who's a six-term MLA from Yelburga in Karnataka's Koppal.
He served as finance and economic advisor to Siddaramaiah, so he's also on Siddaramaiah's uh cabinet wishlist. And AS Ponnanna, who's an MLA from Virajpet in Kodagu. He has been uh legal advisor to Siddaramaiah, so he's also made it to the wishlist. And then comes uh C.
Puttar Putaranga Shetty who is a chairman of premier public sector enterprise MSIL and he's a prominent Uppara community leader. Then comes K.
Venkatesh who's an MLA from Periyapatna in Karnataka and he has been a cabinet minister in the Siddaramaiah government.
Then comes Dr. uh Then comes H.C. Mahadevappa who's an MLA from Narasipur in Karnataka and he's the most trusted confidant of Siddaramaiah.
So he's also on the list. Santosh Lad who has been a labor minister and he's also an influential Maratha community leader. So Siddaramaiah has also mentioned his name in the cabinet wish list.
