Ohanaeze South Youth Wing Rejects Vote Of No Confidence, Backs President General

The Ohanaeze South Youth Wing Forum has rejected and condemned a purported vote of no confidence against the Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General, Senator John Azuta Mbata, describing it as illegal, misleading, and the work of sponsored political actors.

[00:00:19]According to the forum, the group behind the publication lacks constitutional recognition and has no authority to speak on behalf of the Ohanaeze Youth Wing. It also insists that there is no currently any duly constituted national youth executive council making any resolution from such a gathering, um and it is null and void.

[00:00:39]In contrast, youth leaders from the six southern states have unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Senator Mbata, praising his leadership, transparency, and commitment to unity. The forum also warned against the further impersonation and called on the Ohanaeze leadership to urgently establish an electoral committee to conduct credible elections for the global youth wing.

[00:01:04]It urged the public to disregard the alleged vote of no confidence and reaffirm its support for Senator Mbata's vision for united and progressive um Ohanaeze Ndigbo. Well, I'm joined by the coordinator Ohanaeze Youth Wing South South Zone, and also the former financial secretary Ohanaeze Youth Wing uh worldwide, Chinedu Arthur Agu Ugoarada. [00:01:34]>> Well, let's start with what's really going on within um the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, you know, group for a a group that is so-called not um constitutionally recognized um passing a vote of no confidence. What does this really mean for Ohanaeze Ndigbo at this time?

[00:01:52]>> Well, um it's quite unfortunate um that uh our people will be playing politics with issues that concerning the Igbo nation.

[00:02:01]Um elected officer and I know the youth wing worldwide, the past executive. And I know they will have respect for others. We have to have respect for leaders.

[00:02:14]And if there is any issue regarding to youth and we have reasons to approach the leadership of worldwide. And the person of our giving our father leader on a capacity leader in indeed. Uh and Senator Johnny is a man who have a listening ear, a man who have sponsored and used his own personal money to do a lot for Igbo.

[00:02:39]And by the so doing, we we know the channels to throw in our weight to hear uh what our leader will say. But using media to pass full vote of no confidence on him an entire global executive.

[00:02:57]Currently, they are now the global executive not neck. Uh get now. So, we know the way on how to channel our issues, not coming to media to bring down the leadership that was trying his best to bring Igbos together, to work as a team with his his entire executive. They are doing their best. So, uh what we are seeing from so brothers are calling them their brothers is they are misunderstanding how leadership works because you cannot go on air without approaching the leader.

[00:03:32]Telling the leader what the youth want and how we want it. And if you you have approached him on that regard and without hearing from him, then you have every right to go on air or talk to leaders, to talk to him. So, coming on air to pass vote of no confidence, you know, he somehow unfair.

[00:03:53]>> You know, so you so you are good >> that there is a level of misunderstanding within or an is an edible from what you what you just said.

[00:04:02]>> No, there's no misunderstanding between or an is an edible. We are as you can see, let me let me show you. This is a certificate.

[00:04:10]I am an elected officer.

[00:04:12]You understand? Well, our tenure our tenure we have passed executive past. You know, it doing uh Obiozor.

[00:04:21]This my certificate is signed by Obiozor and uh uh OK Emuchay, Ambassador OK Emuchay.

[00:04:28]You understand? So, we are they are they are they are past. Mhm. The current leadership is is is led by Senator Asuquo Umba. So, Asuquo Umba leadership has not conducted any election on youth.

[00:04:42]So, we must exercise patience for our elders and our leaders for them to you know, we have a guideline on how to do things.

[00:04:49]>> So, in that statement about the vote of no confidence, you know, they specified they were alleging some specific perhaps failures or misconduct as alleged anyways by the senator in justifying their vote of no confidence.

[00:05:05]But, what exactly would you say they are asking for irrespective of whether they recognize or not? What are they asking for?

[00:05:12]>> No, that vote of no confidence is null and void because it did not pass through due process. Those are the you saw you saw on television. They did not consult the the the neck. The neck as at that as as it was. Had it been there is a consultation and everybody every neck member gave his support. Even they they are not recognized. They are not new any elected officers currently.

[00:05:38]Because these people did not consult anybody. They went on air. They are being sponsored.

[00:05:43]And we advise those sponsoring them to desist from doing so. Our leaders must be good.
