We've got Christina, aka Lady Logic, that's God Logic's wife, and um was a really big uh really big four v four um Christian women versus Muslim women debate last year. You had a bunch of Muslims actually saying that um the women who represented Islam in that debate must have been plants. They must have been completely caught off guard, and it's not like one was a professor, the other was a Quran teacher, and stuff like that. And um and the prompts were given them, the topics were given to them like uh something like weeks ahead of time or something like that. So, there's just kind of there's kind of no excuse uh along those lines. But, you did have you did have a lot of Muslims saying they wanted um they wanted some different women uh showing up to the debate. So, Christina decided to show up by herself, by herself versus uh 20 Muslim women. Um then eight got a little bit scared, a little bit scared, and didn't show up, and then 12 brave warrior women um showed up. No, I think they're they're they're they're doing something along they're doing something similar to that uh Jubilee thing. Although, I think they're doing it better. I think they're doing it better here. And um I still want I really really want a show with a Muslim surrounded by 30 uh Indians or Pakistanis, and we want it called Zooted.

[00:01:38]But, like intellectually zooted. Like, the Muslim just says all the silly things, and then these uh Indians and Pakistanis just shoot everything down, shoot everything down.

[00:02:37]All right, so my first prompt is the Trinity is biblical, and I really wanted to talk about this because often times I see whenever Muslims are discussing the Trinity, they go to philosophy, or they'll go to the church fathers, but I wanted to have a discussion about whether or not the Trinity is demonstrated in scripture. So, the Bible says that there is one God, one divine essence, and there are three divine persons, the Holy Spirit, the Son, and the Father.

[00:05:57]Absolutely. So, for instance, in Nehemiah 9:6, it says that you alone are Yahweh. So, that is the personal name of God in the Bible.

[00:06:07]However, the Holy Spirit, the Son, and the Father are all called Yahweh.

[00:06:13]So, how can this be God's personal name alone and yet there are three that are identified as Yahweh? Okay. And um again, I did listen to this. I noticed one woman sounded more intelligent than the rest or more knowledgeable or something like that, and that was Kora here. Uh the others, it's kind of like it was actually really frustrating because it's like, why aren't you addressing the topic? Why are you just talking about anything that pops into your head? And then just like the complete nonsense. I remember someone's like, well, you know, Constantine invented the Trinity. I'm like, oh my goodness, man. Seriously? Like like Dawa from 1995 or something like that. Pretty crazy. Pretty crazy.

[00:06:56]Okay, perfect. So, would you say that in Nehemiah, it's addressing God's divine essence or one of the persons as you alone? What is Nehemiah 9:6 addressing?

[00:07:06]It's addressing God. So, we know that God, the term, is not univocal, right?

[00:07:11]So, it can refer to the divine essence or it can refer to the persons that have the divine essence. So, in Nehemiah 9:6, it's talking about the personal name of God.

[00:07:23]So, no one else, it says you alone.

[00:07:26]So, no one else should bear that name.

[00:07:43]Um I mean it kind of makes sense if it's if three or if it's three or four at a time, um then so it's basically 12 and then whoever they think are the I guess the best on this topic will come forward. Whoever is most confident will come forward for this and so on. So Yeah, you want to hear the uh want to hear from the others? Let's And if Oh my goodness. Um again, I don't know who was who cuz I was listening and not watching, but I know this goes downhill really fast in terms of just going off topic, but let's see if this is where it happens.

[00:08:23]Yeah. But it's a it's it's something that Christians should be aware of, this this way of arguing. Uh it's very popular today among Unitarians. It has been for a bit, but it's been picking up steam. It seems like Muslims ever ready, you know, like Muhammad the ear, they're listening to their Unitarian co-religionists and, you know, borrowing their arguments. So, Anthony Buzzard back in the day, uh he's gotten quite old now, so he's an he's an old Buzzard, but Anthony Buzzard [laughter] >> Yeah. I didn't know he was still alive.

[00:08:55]>> to debate him back when he was still a uh you know, more of a s- uh younger guy, but anyway, so Uh he popularized this. He So, he he'll say things like uh the Hebrew Bible contains 20,000 singular >> Right.

[00:09:11]describing God. And so, you know, what do you do with this as a Trinitarian?

[00:09:16]There's just no recovery from this. And and he usually repeats it like a mantra.

[00:09:21]He's he's trying to just, you know, drive it home and so forth. And it gets some traction. It sounds good, right?

[00:09:26]There are a lot of Unitarians who use this. Uh Dustin Smith recently tried to use this tact in his debate with James White. But what one of the problems, aside from what Christina already mentioned uh is that this just especially when they try and bring up the Hebrew and stuff like that to to give it you know a little added punch.

[00:09:49]It's a superficial point because it it ignores how Hebrew works. So it's very common in Hebrew for a singular pronoun to refer to multiple subjects in one way or another.

[00:10:02]There's there's different things going on but let me just give you an example of this. So this is This is from Numbers 21.

[00:10:10]It says when the Canaanite the king of Arad who lived in the Negev heard that Israel was coming.

[00:10:17]So he's referring to the nation but in it's literally the verb here is he was coming. When he heard that Israel was coming by the way of Atharim then he fought against Israel and took some of him captive.

[00:10:30]Right? You notice that it's referring not to the whole nation but to individuals within the nation but they're referred to as him or at least the nation as such it says he took some of him captive.

[00:10:43]So in in Hebrew there's this idea of corporate solidarity. You could have there's a one and many principle where sometimes singular terms are used to refer to a collective right? There are all kinds of different things going on grammatically. So this this whole line of argumentation is not as sophisticated as it seems.

[00:11:03]But anyways if you're looking for a quick answer I you know what Christina said is the way to go but Yeah go ahead Jay. Yeah yeah I want to say that as well like that argument is is so there's like so many different ways to go about showing and demonstrating the Trinity in the Bible. This is a great way and that the all all of the persons share the divine name Yahweh. So you have like uh know, for example like Joel 2 and Romans 10 and you know, the Yahweh text there being applied to Jesus and then you have, you know, Isaiah 6 and um Acts 28 and Jeremiah 31 and Hebrews 10 Yahweh text being applied to the Holy Spirit.

[00:11:51]And so, you look at that and you say, "Okay, Father's being called Yahweh, the Son is being called Yahweh, the Holy Spirit is being called Yahweh." And you know, like she is pointing out here that Yahweh is the one true God. Uh and uh I think that Korah thinks that by getting Christina to kind of answer and say, like if it let's say like if it's just addressing if if only the Father is being addressed, that that somehow would exclude the Son and and exclude the Holy Spirit. And it's kind of similar to how they use John 17, you know, um in John 17 they'll often say like, "Oh, you know, the one the only true God." And like that's that's the Father, the only true God. That's not an exclusion to the Son or the Holy Spirit. So, um no matter what Christina answers there, it doesn't actually address her point that every single person, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are called Yahweh. Whether or not it's the Father, whether or not it's the Son, or whether or not it's the Holy Spirit and Nehemiah specifically being set being called, you know, "You alone are Yahweh." Uh it's not uh like Yahweh this this uh the name is shared by all three. So, whoever, you know, ya they they share the same nature that she said they have the same nature, the same divine essence. Um so, this is more of kind of like a John 17 move than um addressing the actual point that you have all three persons being identified as Yahweh.

[00:14:32]My question to you would be what is uh the term what does that Trinity mean? And what is the origin of the word? Okay, so that's a great question.

[00:14:45]Trinity means one divine essence and three divine persons and we derive that from scripture. That's why I made my prompt the way that I did cuz I want to focus on whether or not we see this in the Bible and it's going to come in handy in our conversation later.

[00:15:01]So, that's why I wanted to focus on do you disagree that in the Bible we see three that are Yahweh?

[00:15:09]But over and over and over again, it says there is one God. How do you guys reconcile that?

But imagine you know, you you say things wrong or in bizarre ways and you leave the other person you know, just sort of like, "What in the world's he talking about?" [00:16:56]Well, number one, as a Muslim, I want to say in the name of God, the beneficent, the most merciful. I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger. And as a believer in that and according to what we believe, we believe in the oneness of God that is also represented it the book of Genesis.

[00:17:16]Right? God is one. That's one of the first commandments of any Christian.

But it it sounds like she's she's trying to cite the Shema but ascribing it to Genesis.

So there are a lot of things that have been misperceived and misunderstood but God says in the Holy Quran that none knows the interpretation save him and the ones that he has anointed with the word. So that's why I asked where do you believe the word Trinity originates from because that word doesn't exist in any version of the Bible. But the word Trinity, right? From my research and from my belief is that that word was originated from a man named Constantine and if you're familiar with him and the Nicene Creed, there was a council of men, right? And Constantine, let's talk a little bit about his history.

[00:19:11]Constantine was originally a pagan worshiper and then he converted to Christianity because the Roman Empire at the time it needed strength but the Romans were sun god worshipers and so he knew after he accepted Christianity that he would have to enter a mix paganism with Christianity in order for Rome to take Christianity as the religion.

[00:19:40]>> What? In that in that entire little rant right there, um what was apart from there was an emperor named Constantine who was previously a pagan, um how much did she get correct?

[00:20:00]It's like it's like when Muslims argue like uh scientific miracles and stuff and you go through what the Quran actually says and it's like, "Okay, apart from there is a sun and there is a moon and there are stars, what did he get right about the universe?" Like what? Cuz everything else is wrong.

But By the way, I I've I've heard people try to make this connection before uh and I don't know if this is what she was doing but I I've heard people, you know, like her kind of talk about this before and they kind of link um like sun god worship like like using English words >> yeah. And they don't realize Yeah, I heard that I've heard that thousands of times. Thousands of times. It was really big in prison. And so they worship the sun and so they had the they had to go with Jesus the sun to replace the sun.

Probably 20 factually false things. Um, what she said about what she said about the Bible, what she said about history, church history, the origin of the word Trinity. Everything is completely wrong.

[00:21:30]There would be a really strong tendency to say, "Okay, you said this, it was wrong. You said that, it was wrong.

[00:21:37]Let's talk about Constantine cuz what you just said was complete nonsense. No, that's not where the word Trinity came from."

[00:22:04]You somebody says something like, "Here's the emperor. He's running the show. He's got this iron fist and here's all these little cowering Christians and they're basically going to buckle to whatever he wants, right? So, he's got this agenda to unite the empire and he's going to get the Christians to be syncretists and mix Christianity with paganism and so forth." But, what this doesn't reflect is what you'd learn after 6 minutes of study, right? So, she's apparently done five or less. But, after 6 minutes of study, you find out that the Christians who attended the council were people who came out of a prior persecution known as the great persecution under Diocletian. And so, when you look at accounts of the Council of Nicaea and the description of the bishops that are attending it, it's it's really rather remarkable. You The descriptions are people coming Yeah, they've been tortured. Yeah, some of them had been hamstrung, right?

[00:22:59]That's where why cut your Achilles tendon and stuff and you can't like you can't walk and stuff like that. These guys had been horribly persecuted um and had just gone through it all.

[00:23:10]And yeah, and then people Constantine Here's what you could Here's the relevance of Constantine. Constantine as a Roman Emperor, he wanted order. He wanted He wanted order, didn't want chaos and stuff like that. And so, it's What does he do? He brings them together. You guys You guys figure this out. You guys figure this out and come up with with with your official positions on these issues.

Because for the first couple centuries, Christianity's persecuted, you Christians just weren't in a position to get together for for a big council and Christians from different parts different areas and stuff like that. All of a sudden, it becomes a legal religion and you've got the Roman Emperor saying, "Hey, uh you guys get together for for a council."

[00:23:52]And then he does this. That's his actual role and as you see, he invented the Trinity.

[00:25:05]Uh I'm I'm I'm a little confused with your question. You are You are rightly confused, and I I think I did cuz again, I wasn't watching it. I only I think some of them agree that you can, and they didn't catch it. The name the name of Allah, Jibril, and Muhammad.

[00:26:24]It's a good question. And actually, this this uh woman in the middle here, she actually started out her speech by saying, "In the name of Allah." So, she literally started out with what Christina was talking about. This kind of like uh taking, you know, God's name and or whether they're making an oath or uh you know, just uh one of the things that Muslims do like before they even before, you know, before you eat food or something, saying, "In the name of Allah." He's saying, "In the name of Allah." And even ex-Muslims uh they they they It's like so drilled into them before they eat food, they still like are like tempted to say in the name of Allah. So, it's something that they know, what she's saying hits home to all the Muslims is what I'm trying to say.

[00:27:02]And so, the question is, okay, you guys all say in the name of Allah, whether it's like a halal slaughter, like you're slaughtering an animal in the name of Allah, can you add on or just tag on Muhammad's name to that? And can you tag on Gabriel's name to that?

[00:27:16]And you know, she's saying no. I imagine Korah said no. I didn't see if she gave an answer or not, but I don't know if this one in the middle got it yet or not. But um the point here is she's, you know, drawing a parallel between Matthew 28:19 and the the baptismal formula in the name, singular, of the Father, of the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And so, if if you can't do that with Allah, invoking Allah's name, singular, with Muhammad and Gabriel, why not?

If Father equals God, and you know, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are just, you know, creatures uh or mere creatures or something, but uh you know, You guys You guys get that? You guys get that's that's a powerful, powerful question. Uh if you don't see if you don't see the if you don't see the significance of what Jesus says in Matthew 28, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

[00:28:18]Uh if you don't see the significance there, then can you She gives the example of zakat. Can you pay your zakat in the name of Allah, Jibril, and Muhammad? And they say, "No, no, Allah." Okay, why? Why Why wouldn't Why wouldn't you also do it in the name of Jibril and Muhammad? Why wouldn't you do it in the name of the three? It's like you understand that that would be a huge, huge problem, and that would be you, like, from an Islamic perspective associating partners with Allah. But not only associating partners with Allah, saying that all three of these have the same name, [music] that would kind of be an issue.
