[00:00:02]This is satellite imagery showing deep soil moisture across North America, roughly 3 to 9.5 ft below ground. Brown show drier soils and blues and greens show wetter soils. The big story here is the dry signal across the southwest, Texas, northern Mexico, and parts of the plains where deeper soil moisture is running low. Meanwhile, the southeast, lower Mississippi Valley, and parts of eastern Canada are showing much wetter, deep soil conditions. This matters because deep soil moisture tells us more than today's rain. It shows how much water is actually stored underground for crops, drought recovery, and long-term water supply. Subscribe for awesome satellite
