ABC7 AccuWeather Forecast Chicago: Sunday, May 24, 2026Added:
Quick peak at the Memorial Day forecast.
And today, you know, if you have your flag out there, if it's not one of those all weather flags, you want to get that in before some of that rain does move in. Tomorrow, beautiful day for all of these parades to honor uh many of our service members who have passed. Well, as we do take a look at the radar, you can see everything mainly out to the west and northwest in Kerry. Right now, you are getting rain there. There has been thunder. It's now moving into western Kang County. If you are in Aurora, probably getting some downpours out your way and then up toward Mckenry right now and some light rain in Lake Geneva. But as we take a look at the futurecast, you can see how this rain is going to overspread the area. By the time we are to get any lightning, maybe here in the city, it's probably going to be closer to 6:30ish up to about 7:00.
So, I emphasize that for some of our crews that are out there this morning to just be on guard for that. But here's our futurecast. And over the next few hours, we will see this rain overspreading the area with some lightning. I'm not expecting any severe weather, but don't be surprised. You get some pretty heavy downpours out of this activity this morning, but then the good news is for the afternoon, we will be set up for lots of dry time. So, if you had outdoor plans this afternoon, just know it will dry out. It is not going to be a rainy day, but it will be cooler along the lake. Right now, 60°. We're starting to get some storms out at O'Hare at this very moment. Now, as we look at the May calendar, well, the past many days, we have had high temperatures come in below average. And in fact, most of the month, we have had below average high temperatures. What is the average high today? 73 degrees. Average low is 53. Our low so far this morning at O'Hare, 57° right now. We're at 60 at O'Hare, 61 out at Midway, 63 in Lasal, 58° now in Valareerezo. Officially, our high temperatures today, mid70s. It will be cooler along the lake. However, overall, it's looking like a fairly quiet week coming our way. And for Memorial Day here tomorrow, I'm just so happy that I can report that it will be a goodlooking
