Crude oil undergoes a multi-stage refining process to become jet fuel: it is first heated in a distillation column where components separate by temperature, extracting the kerosene fraction as the base for jet fuel; this is followed by hydroprocessing to remove sulfur and impurities, then strict quality testing before storage and transportation to airports for aircraft use.

The Process of Turning Crude Oil Into Jet Fuel π§ #shorts #crudeoilAdded:
Did you know that the crude oil transported by ships to refineries does not become jet fuel directly, but instead goes through a complex process?
Imagine this. As soon as an oil tanker arrives at the port, its crude oil is transferred to a refinery through pipelines. There it is first heated inside a huge distillation column where its different components separate at different temperatures. During this process, a middle fraction called kerosene is extracted which becomes the base for jet fuel. But the process doesn't stop there. Inside the refinery, continuous monitoring takes place and engineers carefully control every stage to maintain perfect quality.
In some refineries, an additional cracking process is also used where heavy oil is converted into more useful fuels. Even then the fuel is not ready for direct use. That's why it goes through hydroprocessing where sulfur and other impurities are removed making the fuel cleaner and more stable. After that the fuel underos strict quality testing and is stored in special storage tanks. It is then transported to airports through pipelines or tanker trucks where it is filled into aircraft. And that's how raw crude oil arriving from the sea is transformed into powerful jet fuel that powers airplanes thousands of feet above the ground. If you found this amazing process interesting, comment jet fuel.
