Anne Coulter HUMILIATES Hasan Piker, FORCES HIM to admit illegals are getting government healthcare

[00:00:00]Hey guys, Julie Rosas here, contributor at Political Brawl. Hassan has been a very progressive, a very big name known in politics for a long time. Today we have a clip of him debating Anne Coulter talking about immigration. Let's take a listen.

[00:00:13]>> Both are some of the most articulate spokespeople for their side. So, we're excited to have both of you on the issue as welcome. Uh immigration, one of the most important issues to both of you. Uh we now have this migrant caravan which is moving from Latin America through Mexico expected to come to the US maybe in a month or two. Um what should be the US policy towards it?

[00:00:34]>> Um we should invent a time machine, go back and have Trump fulfill his promise to build a wall. This is why his voters wanted a wall so we don't have to go through this every few months. And if Democrats were smart, the theme of my book, Resistance is feudal. They're doing all the wrong things. The way you'd go after Trump is by saying you haven't fulfilled your promises. What have you done? You've cut taxes. You're going back to the old Republican playbook. Um I hope he will do it. Maybe if Democrats take the House, which it looks like they will. If they take the House, maybe it'll make him mad and he'll finally fulfill his number one campaign promise. But to keep going through this every two months for the rest of our lives, and he's not going to be president forever. This is why we need a wall. until then, I mean, sending troops to the border, which he says he's going to do. It sounds tough, but it isn't doing anything. That the military, they're all just, you know, handing out the here's how you sign up for welfare.

[00:01:25]They're not stopping them there. That's why we want a wall.

[00:01:27]>> So, Assan, is is building a wall the solution?

[00:01:30]>> No, absolutely not. Also, what difference does it make whether we build a wall or not? These are legal asylum seekers coming in the caravan. It's not like these people are coming to cross the border or jump over the Mexican border. I feel like if they were trying to sneak into the country, they'd probably be doing a better job and not come in such high numbers uh coming in after escaping violence in their countries. And then on top of that, this notion that they're that an is snuck in uh that that there have welfare checks uh waiting for them at the border is also preposterous. It's proven over and over again that immigrants contribute far more than they take uh to the US economy. And uh I think there was uh 1436 economists from all different backgrounds that wrote a open letter to Donald Trump advising him that immigration is a net benefit. It's it's virtually every single economist agrees on this and >> um well none none of these are asylum cases or they'd stop in the first country they get to. The idea of asylum is something like there's a holocaust, there's a potato famine. No, this is how these people always live, which is why all of different countries want to come to oh the biggest welfare state in the world. Um that is the United States and get welfare checks and yeah, okay, you got economists to sign a letter. Dumping poor people on America is not making us better. They are far more likely to be receiving welfare. And that's just your average illegal immigrant and immigrant are way higher to be accepting government assistance than American.

[00:03:00]>> How would they accept government assistance? Um, applicants don't have to wait at all. They instantly get given food, housing, everything. But they aren't asylum cases. These aren't people fleeing one corrupt, you know, I'm trying to they're trying to kill you.

[00:03:15]Otherwise, they'd get to Mexico and say home free. I'm in Mexico. No, they want to come to the biggest welfare state in the world.

[00:03:22]>> I mean, the American welfare state might be big in totality as far as our population goes, but it's definitely not as encompassing as plenty of other European nations. But but that's besides the point. You mentioned welfare. Can you describe to me specifically how uh undocumented citizens take advantage of our robust welfare state?

[00:03:40]>> They can't walk to Sweden. They can walk to this but you're not answering my question. Walk to Mexico and they're not stopping there. Um okay. But you're not answering my question.

[00:03:50]As are entitled to everything citizens are >> so now they're asylum seekers because previously you were using the perspective that they are asylum seek.

[00:03:58]>> No, I am saying they do not qualify.

[00:04:00]they should not qualify but they are classified as asileles as you say and that's the whole paniply in fact they get more than than citizens they have housings >> unocumented citizens as a whole because you have such strong opinions on this and look you've been doing this for longer than I've been alive so I would love to hear your perspective on exactly how undocumented citizens take advantage of our supposedly robust welfare state >> we know they're massively collecting food stamps healthare it is 100% Not true. The only thing you can say is maybe they're using healthare. Yeah.

[00:04:33]Healthare as far as emergency rooms approximately is 09% of the entire health >> budget. Schools English as a second language classes. All these schools across America. Oh, sorry. There's going to be no Christmas pageant this year. We had 16 English as a second language classes. Um, >> are you making the assumption that Latin American countries are somehow not Christian and therefore don't want Christmas? What does this have to Christmas? you're really you're not following the >> we're going to have to we're going to have to leave it there.

[00:04:59]>> So the common counterargument whenever people on the right bring up about the number of illegal immigrants coming to our border it's like well they're asylum seekers and they have a right to seek asylum and we have asylum laws that allow them to do that. What they don't like to talk about is that many of the people and historically it's been from Mexico, Central America and then during the Biden Harris border crisis it was expanded to basically the entire world.

[00:05:23]what they don't like to talk about, and every time you you you hear someone from DHS or someone uh within the federal government who deals with immigration, they they don't like to admit that, you know, the left doesn't like to admit that an overwhelming majority of the cases of the asylum claims do not qualify for under our asylum laws. A lot of it, most of it, is coming from people who are economic asylum seekers. And that's not to say that that's not a problem. It's just the fact that under our current immigration laws or asylum laws, they can't claim economic asylum when the overwhelming majority of these cases. And and you would hear that all the time. I would hear that all the time when I would ask people during the border crisis as they're coming over in broad daylight, uh because things had changed, why are you deciding to come over now? You what's going on in your home country?

[00:06:18]and and the and the two big things is like, well, we're coming over now because Trump is no longer in office and we're looking for jobs. The economic situation in in Honduras or Guatemala or, you know, particularly Venezuela, it's not good. You know, we need to be able to we want to be able to come to the United States to to work. That that that's her thing. You know, again, that that is an understandable uh reason, but that's not a legitimate reason to claim asylum. And and really to Ann's point too, I mean she is correct that a lot of these people again, particularly during the Biden Harris administration, they weren't stopping in Mexico. They weren't stopping in other countries that if they legitimately feared these, you know, the the their own government under asylum claims, they could stop in other countries that's not their own. which is why the Trump administration has been very good at restarting the these third country agreements that he had in his first term, which again Biden ended on his first day in office because it it makes sense, right? If if someone's being persecuted in Nicaragua by the government, they can wait on their asylum claim in Mexico or or Costa Rica or or you know, some some other country because the the the overall violence, quote unquote, is is not applicable to them because under their asylum claim, they're not trying to get into the United States through that. They're trying to get into the United States through a government repression or, you know, whatever have you. And then the other kind of interesting thing is that in the time since Hassan has made this made these claims the situation's been way worse that and yes they do you know both legal and illegal immigrants use up a lot of the welfare benefits that are offered at the federal and and the state levels and in fact the center for immigration studies put out a report uh earlier this year talking about how up to 53% of households headed by immigrants naturalized citizens legal residents and illegal immigrants use one or more major welfare programs. This compares to 37% of households where it's just people who are born in the United States. The rate is 59% for non-citizen households. So that could be green card holders or illegal immigrants. Now according to them, their best estimate is that 51% of households headed by legal immigrants use at least one major welfare program. Now when it comes to illegal immigrant households, they estimate that the rate is at least 61%.

[00:08:44]And they actually even said that there's no evidence to say that that is solely due to fraud. Like that is just how they're able to do it. And one of the ways that they kind of get around it is that they enrolled their children because they are citizens by being born on US soil. So the again it's not necessarily the individual. Well, you have to take into account the household because a lot of these people start families and they abuse the birthright citizenship provision that we have here in the United States, which is again another pull factor into that encourages people to cross over the border illegally. And in fact, I even wrote for political not that long ago that the New York Times this kind of glowing profile piece about this couple from Central America getting deported while the woman was pregnant. and she was so determined to get back into the United States to have her child be born on US soil because then they have that anchor to the country and lo and behold she was able to have her child be born in the United States making him a citizen but then she was picked up again because illegal illegal re-entry into the United States after you've been deported it's not a misdemeanor it is a felony so all of that is to say that not only was Hassan Piker's comments at the time wrong. But in the time since then, the problem has got become way worse. And again, it's just because these de, you know, Democrats have just this insane mentality that if Trump is for it, we have to be against it. And if Trump is against it, we have to be for it. So Trump was against illegal immigration.

[00:10:16]He was for a border wall. So therefore, Democrats have to be on the opposite side. And we saw the disastrous effects that it had when Democrats were in control of the White House and Congress.

[00:10:25]It it created this huge situation that we're still dealing with today and unfortunately we are going to be dealing with for a very long time and in the meantime Americans, American citizens, actual taxpayers are going to suffer as a as a result of that.
