Sizzling temps across the state, Extreme Heat Warning for Grand Canyon
Added:And here's what we're tracking [music] as we head through the rest of the week.
We're talking about breathing conditions that are going to be lasting all the way through about our Friday afternoon.
Valley has a slight chance tomorrow for maybe an isolated thunderstorm. We're going to keep most of it to our north and to our east when it comes to that thunderstorm development. Those temperatures though are still going to be hot right around 110 we're expecting 110 in downtown Phoenix starting off at 88° tomorrow and then we will see those temperatures staying in the triple digits all the way through our early evening hours. That means that our heat risk, that's that risk for heat related illnesses, stays in the major category meaning everyone is at risk. Then we move to the moderate category as we head through the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. We do have an extreme heat warning which will be in place all the way through tomorrow night and that is for the Grand Canyon below 4,000 ft. We could see this extended as temperatures there will range between about 105 to 110. So when we look at future cast, we start off tomorrow calm and quiet but this model indicating that we'll start to see things sparking to our south and to our east and we'll watch that as we head through the rest of the evening.
Again, that potential to maybe see a little isolated shower here in the valley. Otherwise, we're dry and just blow blowing dust that will be out there as we'll keep those showers to the east as we head into the evening. Our temperatures as we head into our overnight will stay mainly in the 80s for us here in the valley. Around the state, we're going to be seeing an overnight low of 86 for Bullhead City, 65 for Prescott, 63 for Payson, 53 for Flagstaff, 63 for Show Low, and 75 expected for Globe. Afternoon temperatures tomorrow we'll see 110 for Peoria, 109 for Buckeye, 108 for Scottsdale, 109 for Mesa, and 108 for Queen Creek. Around the state, 113 expected for Bullhead City. We're going to see 100 for Kingman, 93 for Prescott and Payson, 99 for Globe, 88 expected for Show Low, and 85 for Flagstaff. So, the extended forecast again, breezy afternoon conditions, [music] temperatures at 107 on your Thursday and Friday. We'll be right at that seasonal average on Saturday with plenty of sunshine and a high of 105. Father's Day on Sunday, things are dry, we'll see 104, actually going below normal, but then we heat things right back up for the start of next week. 106 [music] on Monday, 110 expected by Tuesday.
