According to Pensions UK research, only 9% of people are on track for a comfortable retirement, with the middle generation (ages 35-55) facing the greatest pension challenges as they lack the benefits of auto-enrollment enjoyed by younger workers and the security of defined benefit pensions held by older generations, compounded by economic disruptions like the pandemic and global financial collapse.

Only 9% of us are on track for a comfortable retirement?! 🚨📉Added:
Let's let's crack on to pensions, because I think this has been the the major story of the week, which is Pension UK said that only 9% of us are on track for a comfortable retirement.
Um I I find the figures particularly shocking, and we were we were we were chatting briefly before, and you made a point, which is I think you've got younger people have been auto-enrolled for their whole career will might be okay, you know, even though there's questions about whether that amount should be changed, you know, the employer contributions and uh individual contributions. You then got people towards end of their career might have had defined benefit pensions, you know, so they'll be okay. You might have this kind of lost generation in the middle, you know, those who are kind of maybe mid-30s to mid-50s.
You know, might not have enough and they've gone through a pandemic and a global financial collapse.
You know, do >> I'm laughing because I I this piece of research, the the Pensions UK research, which is widely used by the industry, comes off the back of a report a couple of [laughter] weeks before. So, the government is currently Well, it's commissioned got a commission going, Pensions Commission, to look at the state of play with the pensions industry, and it released its interim kind of report on to how few of us are saving into a pension.
Add these two together, and it's not a fantastic picture, let's put it this way.
