[00:00:00]Suvendu Adhikari, who took oath as the first West Bengal Chief Minister from the BJP, has inducted five ministers into the state cabinet. Suvendu was administered the oath of office by Governor R.N. Ravi at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata, which witnessed a huge turnout. He becomes the ninth Chief Minister of the state, ushering in a BJP-led era in West Bengal for the first time since India's independence.

[00:01:33]The legislators who will serve in Adhikari's cabinet include Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Nitish Pramanik, Khudiram Tudu, and Ashok Kirtania.

[00:01:46]The five ministers took oath in the presence of the Prime Minister of India and the Union Home Minister, among other top dignitaries. Dilip Ghosh is a A BJP leader and former state party president originally associated with the RSS.

[00:02:00]As a full-time campaigner, Ghosh played a major role in expanding the BJP's grassroots network in West Bengal after 2014.

[00:02:09]Agnimitra Paul is a fashion designer turned politician and the only woman minister in the BJP's West Bengal cabinet so far. She joined the BJP in 2019. In 2021, she was appointed the general secretary of the BJP in West Bengal. She defeated Trinamool Trinamool Congress's Sayoni Ghosh from the Asansol Dakshin seat. Ashok Kirtania is a BJP MLA in 24th [snorts] North 24 Parganas.

[00:02:49]Chudiram Tudu is a tribal leader from the Bankura district representing a tribal dominated constituency in Jangal Mahal.

[00:03:07]Nisith Pramanik was a member of the Trinamool Congress before joining the BJP in 2019.

[00:03:25]During the swearing-in ceremony, the Prime Minister, who is in Kolkata for the event, greeted the public in attendance. After the ceremony, the Prime Minister met the families of BJP workers who was slain in post-poll violence that killed four alongside Suvendu Adhikari's aide, Chandranath Rath.
