This video elegantly demonstrates how architectural fragments can transcend their industrial origins to become a poetic dialogue between a city's past and its present. It serves as a vital reminder that urban memory is an active process of creation rather than a mere collection of ruins.

Memory is Creation Without End - Sydney’s Sandstone RelicsAdded:
[music] [music] Hey everybody and welcome back.
I'm currently standing in front of quite a few sandstone relics right right around Sydney CBD.
This down here is McCquory Street and down that way is Circular Key. Now, I've done a video on this before.
However, I like to think I've improved a little bit with uh with my filming and this is a little bit awkward here because um got my shadow in the way, but this is called memory is create creation without end.
All right, so here's a plaque um giving some information on it. I know my shadow's in the way. Um, but either way, um, pause the video, have a bit of a read, and then resume when you're done.
And then we'll, uh, have a bit of a look at these relics.
It's from May 1926.
100 years old. Next month YW WGA. I'm pretty sure that's a G. It's from 1924.
We'll look at as many of them as we can.
It's beautiful creation though the detail in the buildings back in the day too. It's incredible.
There's a LI there. I think that's an I.
Yeah.
Interesting.
It's just so many of them. Like you look from a distance, you're like, "Oh, it's a few I'm literally just wandering aimlessly looking at random ones.
Said to be in a bit of a spiral, but not quite.
Last time I was here was in about 20 16 I think when this channel was still newish.
That's amazing.
I wonder what year this one's from.
It's a joke, obviously.
We'll go up here to the left and then work our way around.
Just embedded there. It's pretty cool. It really is.
be cool if there was um like little little plaques on them kind of thing um stating what buildings they were from or at least like you know really you know historic historically significant ones.
Anyway, there used to be a quarry here in Sydney uh well one in Pedmont. I don't know if there was another one in in in proximity of Sydney CBD. Another one, but yeah, there was one in Permont. It's actually a park now. So, you can actually sort of walk through where uh where this quarry was. So, it's that's also something I want to do.
So come check it out. It's um adjacent to McQuary Street. Now before we continue, so over the way there uh over that road there is the Royal Botanic Gardens.
As we said before, down there is Circular Key and this is McCquory Street and that's that's the CBD, the skyline there.
Interesting marking on this one.
Heat. Heat.
Intrigued to know what this one is or was.
It's okay.
All righty. That's it.
Yeah, that's really cool. So, um, if you come here, and this is what I think I missed last time, uh, like 10 or so years ago when I first did this video. I just wanted to redo it today. Um, one thing I missed was actually that like last time was that plaque.
So that plaque is I wouldn't say it's hidden but doesn't stick out of the ground is actually on the corner here.
So you got Mcquaryy Street CBD botanical gardens and you got the fork in the road there and plaque and the sculptures there.
But um yeah that's it. That's it. bloody good to be back. Uh very fascinating coming here. Thanks for watching. Please give the video a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel, share the video, all that good stuff.
Your views and subscribing and the thumbs up and all that stuff uh is is always greatly appreciated. Very much so. More than I can say. But yep, thanks again for watching. I'll catch you soon.
Bye.
[music] Heat.
