[00:00:17]The United Kingdom has officially advanced Project NYX, a 10 million pound initiative unveiled on May 15th, 2026, to develop cutting-edge autonomous uncrewed aircraft systems designed to operate alongside the British Army's AH-64E Apache attack helicopters.

Capable of carrying payloads over 200 kg and operating for extended durations, they will extend the Apache's reach, reduce crew exposure to danger, and drastically boost battlefield awareness and survivability. By autumn 2026, the Ministry of Defence will select up to two final teams to build full prototypes with operational capability targeted before 2030.
