Samidoun Coordinator Charlotte Kates: The “Red-Green Alliance” Is Our Enemies' Nightmare

[00:00:27]We're based in Oakland, California in the San Francisco Bay Area, USA. Our speaker today is Charlotte Kates who'll be speaking on the Islamic resistance, the revolutionary left, and the anti-imperialist struggle.

[00:00:41]>> It is important for us to talk about the left and anti-imperialist struggle in the imperial core. These movements are calling for that action in the imperial core. And so we have to go beyond simply understanding that the spoils of imperialism accrue to a labor aristocracy in the imperial core, but not be hindered by that and rather instead move to act and to mobilize and become not merely observers of the axis of resistance and of the resistance front, but participants that are worthwhile and meaningful allies who are fighting together in the battle against imperialism. Now, one thing that should be very clear is that our enemies, imperialism, Zionism, reactionary forces, are very, very afraid of this possibility. They've envisioned this possibility very clearly and it is something that strikes them with fear. The red green alliance, which is there, you know, a meaningful alliance, not merely a recognition of momentary shared interest, but an enacted alliance that has material effect and meaning of Islamic resistance and revolutionary forces and revolutionary left, socialist, and Marxist-Leninist forces that are strongly committed to both ideological and practical confrontation of imperialism and its primary proxy force and institutional colonial military, Zionism and the Zionist entity. Um, such an alliance is not just the nightmare of our enemies. It is also something that is necessary, that is beneficial to the struggle of the peoples of the world against imperialism. Um, you know, one of the reasons for the propaganda against October 7th, this idea that it was a terrorist attack against civilians, that a random music festival was a primary target, that um, you know, these completely bogus claims of sexual assault and abuse, uh, that all of these things have been raised is actually to distort the image of what did happen in Al-Aqsa Flood. So that, um, we are supposed to view it as kind of a chaotic action that was, uh, just, you know, kind of people getting angry and running past the borders of Gaza, rather than what it actually was, which was a carefully planned out and well-executed military operation. I mean, there's a desire to completely erase the memory of what actually happened on October 7th, which has nothing to do with sexual assault, violence against civilians, or any of these other claims. The thing that causes outrage and the thing that has caused, uh, this this, uh, absolute genocidal rage among Zionists and among supporters of the Zionist project and among their rulers and among imperialists is the fact that the extremely well-executed and organized aspect of October 7th, of Al-Aqsa Flood, showed that, oh, wow, this is a resistance movement that is actually capable of bringing down the Zionist project. And it was a harbinger of that. And so all of the propaganda is meant to hide that fact and it's meant to hide that reality, and it's meant to give the illusion of permanence of the Zionist project in the region, when in fact it is a temporary project that has no such permanence.
