Added:Modi your hooliganism will not work, it will not work Modi your hooliganism will not work, it will not work Hey Modi your hooliganism by term will not work, that is all they are saying nothing wrong with it, it will not work, it will not work, we have been saying it, we have been doing presentation after presentation about this, why is the Prime Minister silent, it is not just a matter of the Central Government, it is of the entire country, in every state, wherever there are people involved in paper leak, those who are involved in this business, those who have done such a disgusting work, have done a sinful work.
Everyone should unite to punish them.
This is not a matter of party politics.
This is a national issue.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi defended the existing examination policy of the Government of India on Tuesday in a meeting which was held here in New Delhi on Parliament premises on Tuesday morning. It was a meeting of all the NDLI Central Parliamentary Party meet ah the ch the Prime Minister chaired this meeting. In fact, the Prime Minister also stressed that the government was prompt enough and swift enough to take action against all those perpetrators as soon as the loopholes regarding the NEET AH exam were pointed out or were brought to light. And that's the reason why as many as 13 people have been arrested in this case so far. The Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Kiren Rijiju after the meeting spoke to the reporters and pointed out certain facts which the Prime Minister had stressed in the meeting. Let's listen to what Mr. Kiren Rijiju had to say on this issue.
Regarding the NEET exam, the respected Prime Minister has said that when the news of paper leak came, the government immediately took action and 13 people were arrested and put in jail and at the same time, to ensure that the future of the students is not harmed, priority was given to the re-examination of NEET and the re-examination was conducted successfully and there was no delay in declaring its result.
So, to ensure that such paper leaks do not happen again, strict steps have been taken. Those who have been found guilty in the paper leak business and have been arrested have been put in jail. The Prime Minister has also appealed that the punishment should be given to them with the strictest possible force and all the top class lawyers should also support it so that those who have committed the sin of paper leaking get the harshest punishment. The Prime Minister also gave information about the strict steps that have been taken to prevent paper leaks in future and the Prime Minister also said that paper leak is not a matter of just one state. It is not just a matter of the Central Government. In every state of the country, wherever people are involved in paper leak, who are involved in this business, who have done such a heinous act, have committed such a sinful act, everyone should unite to punish them. This is not a matter of party politics. This is a matter of the country and there should be no tampering with the future of the youth.
The Parliamentary Party meeting is held every Tuesday. Today it was the first Tuesday of the monsoon session. So It Got a New Name. Now it would be known as the auspicious meeting. Ah ah you know because it's held on Tuesday. So this is a new name which as you know the government has given to this meeting. The Prime Minister as I told you will chair this meeting, all the senior ministers were present in this meeting which also includes the Union Education Minister Mr Dharmendra Pradhan, while the protest continued at Jantar Mantar, ah the students were there today, also many Left party members of Parliament belonging to the Left parties also marched up to Jantar Mantar, they all were demanding swift action against all those police personnel who were responsible for inflicting injuries to all these protesting students. Meanwhile away from Jantar Mantar the Leader of Opposition Mr Rahul Gandhi also accompanied by many Congress MPs walked from Rajaji Marg to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence. That is the public welfare route demanding his resignation. In the visuals you see that the Rahul Mr. Rahul Gandhi is there, Priyanka Gandhi is also there and many other MPs are also sitting on a dharna. Earlier the leader of opposition accompanied by his sister had also visited RML hospital that is now Ram Manohar Lohia hospital.
Later Rahul Gandhi came to the parliament and he spoke to reporters in which he also questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of NEET scam. Let's listen to what the leader of opposition had to say on this issue.
We went to the speaker and we said that look we want to discuss the student issue.
And the Speaker told us that he has to ask the government for discussion.
You understand the meaning. The Speaker is telling us that to debate in Parliament he has to take permission from the government. He is openly telling us that. Ok. Look, the issue is about students, about the future of youth. And this is what is being done, people are being killed, beaten.
This is completely unIndian.
What about meeting him?
Modi ji. Modi ji even apologized for what has happened yesterday.
Now these [bell ringing] youth are protesting about the education system, about the testing system. The whole country knows that the education system testing system is broken.
It has ceased to exist.
Testing system has been loaded out by termites. That is all they are saying. Nothing wrong with it. We've been saying it, we've been, I've been doing presentation after presentation about this.
Why is the Prime Minister silent?
What is the reason? He should apologize to the students. And he should stop this nonsense? Of police people thrashing students completely wrong.
Today again, at the behest of the Home Minister and the Prime Minister, the Delhi Police in a very cowardly manner dragged and detained our leader Rahul Gandhi.
Our leader Priyanka Gandhi is being abused and dragged into the bus and is being taken away in a rude manner. We are not even telling where our leaders are being taken.
We are all being arrested and taken away.
Our clothes were torn. In a way, they acted brutally against us. Our demand is very clear. We will not allow lathi charge on students. We will not allow any case to be filed against the students. Dharmendra Pradhan will not be allowed to remain in his chair. The Home Minister has to apologize and resign. The Prime Minister has to apologize to the girl students and their parents and will have to resign.
But as far as the government is concerned, the government says that all the corrective measures have been taken and that is the reason why the required exam was successfully held. And nobody can force the government to state which minister should stay in the cabinet and not and that is why Mr Dharmendra Pradhan is still surviving but the government of course is trying to reach out to the protesting students after Mr Nadda you know on Monday we saw visuals of a you know representatives of CJP meeting Mr Nadda today Mr JP Nadda visited both the hospital where the protesters who were injured in this protest were getting first state.
Meanwhile, both houses were open on Tuesday.
Also there were consequential agreements and finally it got ordered at noon. So will this monsoon session see some kind of business and will it be watched out like last year that time will only tell in New Delhi. This is Neeta Sharma reporting for the Indian Express.
