Republican Signs Bill He Meant To Veto, Ends His Career

[00:00:00]Every so often I'll get comments or emails or messages from people telling me that I need to be a little bit nicer to conservatives, right? Stop calling Republicans stupid is uh one of the main things that I get from people because of course in their imagination if I'm nice to conservatives, the conservatives will come over to our side. But if I'm continuously mean to them, it's going to drive them further off into Nazism, which if you're already leading that way anyway, me being nice or mean to you is not going to change that. Uh, but here's the thing.

[00:00:41]when Republicans stop being stupid.

[00:00:47]And if you don't think that these people are seriously just the dumbest folks that the United States has to offer, then listen to this.

[00:00:57]There was a county executive, Republican executive of one of upstate New York's largest counties. It's uh Anandga County, which includes the city of Syracuse.

[00:01:11]this man, county executive Ryan McMahon, in charge of the whole damn county, right? But he's got a Democratic controlled county legislature.

[00:01:20]And the Democratic controlled county legislature tried for the second time this year, to pass a piece of legislation, which they did pass, uh to impose term limits on the county executive, on Republican Ryan McMahon specifically. Right. the first time they did it earlier this year, he vetoed it.

[00:01:40]So, they do it again last week and he says, "Okay, I'm going to veto it." But then something amazing happened.

[00:01:49]The state legislature or the county legislature, excuse me, then received the legislation back with his signature on it.

[00:02:00]He accidentally signed the legislation instead of vetoing it.

[00:02:08]So, Republican County Executive Ryan McMahon freaks out, realizes, "Oh god, I've just ended my career." So, he immediately then fills out the veto form and sends that to the county legislature. He's like, "No, no, no, no, no. That was totally an accident. Didn't mean to do that. Here's here's the veto thing. No, no, no. but you can't pass it because I'm vetoing it. And the county legislature is like, "Yeah, that's not how it works, man. The the first thing you send back is what becomes official.

[00:02:40]So this little veto form that you have now sent us after sending us the signed legislation is worthless in the eyes of the state law and the eyes of county law. Your veto form is null and void because you already signed the legislation, buddy. Once you do that, it's done. So, your little screw up there just basically ended your career in this county. Thank you for being so damn stupid.

[00:03:12]Now, it still has to go through obviously, you know, the the board of elections and all that, but it was signed. It's done. He panicked, tried to fix it, realized he couldn't, and then sad reality gripped him from the inside out. So, sure, I will stop calling Republicans stupid when Republicans finally stop being so damn stupid.
