[00:00:04]Good afternoon, everyone. It's my pleasure to be here this afternoon to present you an overview of Star Pharma.

[00:00:09]We're a biotech based out of Melbourne, and uh I am super happy to share with you the year that it has been since I last presented here at the Ignite conference.

[00:00:20]Disclaimer statement, as many of you should have shown today.

[00:00:24]So, Star Pharma, why do we exist? We exist to really focus on improving patient outcomes through using our dendrimer drug delivery technology.

[00:00:34]Our primary focus, whilst the technology can be used in many different ways and many different areas, our primary focus at the moment is the use in oncology.

[00:00:44]And that's obviously a key area that I think a number of presenters have mentioned today. But cancers continue to be uh diagnosed worldwide, many different areas. There are still an ongoing need for many different and improved treatments. And our goal is to actually make sure that the quality of life for those patients that are being treated for cancer is better by incorporating our technology within our drugs that are used for various types of cancer.

[00:01:13]And particularly in Asia, we know that um that there are multiple cancers that have unmet needs, particularly in the space of gastric cancer, and I'll talk to that a little bit about some of the work that we're doing in that space.

[00:01:27]Our dendrimer technology is based on lysine. You imagine a core structure that is built layer upon layer, which gives a dendrimer structure that you can attach many different uh elements to it.

[00:01:42]And the goal of building out and decorating our dendrimer structure is to actually get a specific outcome that relates to bio distribution or the pharmacokinetics of a particular drug.

[00:01:55]Uh what we have seen by using the technology is that you can get very, very specific outcomes by using different sizes of the dendrimer, by attaching different uh drugs or antibodies to the dendrimer, and obviously um variations in the linkers uh and the way in which you cover off the unused sections of the dendrimer.

[00:02:18]So, it's all about uh incorporating our technology into drugs that will give a more specific outcome and a better outcome for patients that relates to efficacy of treatments and also less side effects.

[00:02:34]Those are some of the key reasons why drugs fail in their development related to efficacy, tolerability, and um pharmacokinetics. So, incorporating our dendrimer technology even early on in the development program can help to de-risk uh those opportunities and certainly provide um more uh competitive advantage to a company that is developing drugs, particularly what we've shown in the in the oncology space.

[00:03:02]So, from an efficacy standpoint in oncology, incorporating a dendrimer can improve the tumor uptake. It can also make uh it more targeted and then less side effects.

[00:03:14]Also, it's scalable, it's reproducible, and we've been able to show, as I said, those very specific outcomes from incorporating our technology into our various drugs. And just by way of example, this is a phase two study that we've done in um a chemotherapy area.

[00:03:31]So, comparing a dendrimer version with uh a standard chemotherapy drug.

[00:03:39]Um I won't go through in detail the the results. It's really just to show the example of the benefits that can be achieved. On the left-hand side is the efficacy results. So, the teal or the green color shows the dendrimer version shows that higher um efficacy that can be achieved versus what is the standard chemotherapy drug. And then on the right-hand side, you can see that also that um the teal version, less is better um because we're talking about side effects. So, that um you're getting a better efficacy outcome, but also a significantly reduced side effect profile. As I said, I'm just using that as by way of example to highlight the benefits that the dendrimer can bring within um incorporating it into drug development.

[00:04:27]The way in which we focus our strategy for Star Pharma and the value that we can deliver for patients, partners, and certainly our shareholders is that we have the ability to license the technology to partner companies. Um we announced at the end of last year uh two significant partnerships, particularly the Genentech um agreement, which they have an exclusive license to use our technology uh within some of their drug development. We announced that, you know, October last year, and also the application for radio farm, where they can use it in the radio space in a specific product. We have a joint venture with a private equity company out of the UK called Medichem. Um we have created with them a a single asset company called Battalion Therapeutics.

[00:05:17]We also have the ability, obviously, as I mentioned before, to use the technology within our own development program.

[00:05:24]We have a uh HER2-focused is to get that to the clinic this year.

[00:05:34]We know that HER2 is a well-validated target. Um there is significant opportunity, and particularly in the gastric cancer space, as I mentioned right at the start, that is a huge unmet need, and that particularly applies um in Asia. So, our focus is gastric um and breast cancer and um other HER2-positive cancers in that space. And then we have that uh DEP SN-38 dep cabazitaxel has completed phase two. They're the ones that I've just shared those results with you. So, we have the ability to now move forward to some other targeted therapies incorporating our technology, um and excited that we would move from discovery into development in some of those key areas in the near future.

[00:06:22]So, why invest in Star Pharma? Um as I've mentioned throughout the presentation, we have a clinically validated uh platform technology. We have expanding commercial opportunities.

[00:06:34]Whilst we're very focused in oncology at the moment, we do have the opportunity to expand even in that space the utilization, but also into other areas.

[00:06:43]Um we've got a very uniquely experienced team. Uh we have feedback from our current partners that really do state that part of the value in working with Star Pharma in the licensing of our technology is the technology itself, but also the experience and the depth of um knowledge in part that they gain through partnering with Star Pharma by working with our team. And we also have a strong IP position.

[00:07:12]Since last year we were presented uh at the Ignite conference, we've seen some good uplift relating to our share price, and this is really as a result of um showing the execution against our strategy.

[00:07:27]Uh we've announced some partnerships, we've shown progress in our um uh our internal programs. Uh and at the end of the year, in December, for our half-yearly report, we reported that we have a cash balance of 18 million dollars.

[00:07:44]So, going forward, what would you expect to see from Star Pharma? Um under those two key priority areas of strategic partnerships and that novel asset development. So, under strategic partnerships, it would be updates that relate to our existing partnerships, an expansion of opportunity within those partnerships.

[00:08:04]If we've secured new partnerships, we have a new program called Star Navigator, where we uh are really focused on bringing more partners into our program.

[00:08:15]And we're also uh licensing our existing assets. So, through partnerships, be it the phase two assets or our over-the-counter products.

[00:08:25]In our novel asset development, the key catalysts that we'll be looking for is the radio um therapeutic program moving into clinic this year. We're excited about the uh early results that we're seeing um from the preclinical part, and we want to see that translate, obviously, into the clinic. And converting some of that early discovery work in the targeted therapeutic areas into um development programs.

[00:08:50]We do focus on our own sustainability through the revenue that we gain from our over-the-counter products. We're pleased to report also that we've seen some significant increase in that uh revenue through some very modest investment um and some online marketing for those products in the European and UK market. So, we focused on that revenue generation to focus to improve the sustainability of Star Pharma also.
