Management of stem gall disease of coriander through IDM

[00:00:01][music] >> So hello everyone. My name is Inamul Hussain. I am from Viswanath College of Agriculture, third year student. Today I will explain management of stem gall disease of coriander through integrated management.

[00:00:18]So stem gall disease of coriander is caused by Protomyces macrosporus. So now I will explain each and every points through which you can manage the stem gall disease of coriander through integrated disease management. So let's discuss the points.

[00:00:34]>> point is use healthy seeds. So under this point, select disease-free certified seeds and avoid seeds collected from infected fields. Next point is seed treatment. So treat seeds with Thiram or Captan at the rate 2 to 3 g per kg of seeds or Trichoderma viride at the rate 4 g per kg of seeds.

[00:00:56]Next point is crop rotation. So under this point, follow 2 to 3 years crop rotation with non-host crops like cereals and avoid repeated coriander cultivation in the same field.

[00:01:09]Next point is field sanitation. So under this point, remove and destroy infected plant immediately and keep the field free from plant debris.

[00:01:19]Next point is proper spacing. So under this point, maintain proper spacing for good air circulation and avoid excessive irrigation and waterlogging.

[00:01:29]So next point is resistant or tolerant varieties. So under this point, use locally recommended tolerant varieties if available.

[00:01:38]So next point is fungicidal spray. So spray Mancozeb.25% or copper oxychloride.39% and repeat at 10 to 15 day interval if disease appears.
