A lot of the the strikes that Admiral Cooper and CENTCOM have been undertaking are taking Iran's ability to see and sense away in the Strait of Hormuz, which has tactical benefits for us. Iran is at the weakest point militarily it has ever been in in the past decade, certainly maybe in 47 years. So I acknowledge they still have capabilities, no doubt, but the amount of the amount of damage that we've done to them over the course of of the these series of operations has put them in the worst place they've ever been.

[00:00:58]>> All right, so that's the comment that's coming from war secretary Pete Hoekstra.

[00:01:02]He of course at the moment maintains that United States military onslaught pretty much continues and Iranian military capabilities have been reduced to almost nil, especially speaking of the control that the US continues to exercise over the Strait of Hormuz. Now this remember has come right after that uh reinforcement of the US naval blockade.

[00:01:23]At the moment it has become a perception war on who exercises control over the Strait because Iran at the same time as US asserts that its naval blockade holds all of the Hormuz control. Iran continues to maintain that given the strategic advantage it has over the Strait, it has complete control of the Strait of Hormuz. This has also hampered to a large extent the transiting of the commercial vessels across the Strait or through the Strait of Hormuz. But in the meanwhile, once again, what we saw the last few hours was another wave of strikes carried out by the United States and the retaliation, in simple terms, is limiting to just one thing alone, which is US military infrastructure in the Gulf coming under attack repeatedly. I don't want to go across to Siddhant Mishra who joins us with more details.

[00:02:14]Siddhant, if you could just decode that comment that's coming from the war secretary, of course, there's a little bit of a perception war that we're seeing, which which is being played by both the sides.

[00:02:25]But as of today, given that we're looking at an exchange of military strikes on an everyday basis, where does the situation stand?

[00:02:33]>> Well, that's right, Kriti Singh. Today is the 11th day of the United States conducting strikes against Iran. And of course, the United States has been saying this that that they are you know, degrading Iran's ability to to launch a strikes on the commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. So, most of these these most of the places which have been struck by US are on the shores of Iran. Point number one. Point number two, of course, you know, as you rightly said that today is the 11th day and you know, these developments are indeed concerning.

[00:03:11]There is very little movement through the Strait of movement of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, so on and so forth. But also the fact is that both United States states and Iran have confirmed that they are in touch with each other through intermediaries. The messages are being exchanged. So, so so it's not that both countries have given up the diplomacy.

[00:03:37]Of course, you know, the battle is going on, fighting is going on, but at the same time the diplomacy is also continuing. In fact, Manoj Gupta reported the other day about the high-level visit of of Iranian delegation to Pakistan and perhaps the purpose of course to to take forward the negotiation and give chance to diplomacy. So so so you know everyone is hopeful. In fact Marco Rubio said the other day >> Everyone's hopeful but we've not seen any big breakthrough in sight so far. So everyone's also waiting for that big day possibly of of an announcement that could put an end to this kind of military back and forth on an everyday basis.
