Drawing PLANETS as GIRLS!
Added:Hey everyone, [music] in this video I'm going to be drawing the planets of the solar system but as girls. By the way, I did make designs for them back in 2023 [music] but like they're really old so I'm going to make new ones.
All right, let's get started. All right, we're going to start with Mars. [music] Um look, I should have started with Earth but I wanted to draw Mars first because [music] I really really like the planet Mars and like the color red.
>> [music] >> And I chose um the image this image to draw Mars as like to base [music] her off of.
And I know like Mars isn't actually that red in real life.
It's actually [music] more like towards the tan grayish color but I just really [music] like this version like this image like the exaggerated saturated vibrant colors.
So I decided to [music] do, you know, artist like interpretation, creative liberties >> [music] >> and make my design based off of the red image. So [music] personality-wise, she's very passionate about everything she does. [music] She's very loyal to her friends.
And I just love drawing her so much.
Like [music] I think she's one of my favorite characters to draw.
Um I really, you know, I just really like the color red and she's literally the embodiment of that. And yeah, basically if you guys have any questions about her or any of the other characters in the comments, [music] just ask me cuz I I don't know what else to say but yeah, that's her. Love her.
All right, so next is Earth.
And I was actually going to start with her first but I actually ended up drawing her second. And as you can see I used the sketch of Mars >> [music] >> next to her as like um a size reference.
Uh so you guys could see that and you >> [music] >> that kind of like exposes that I drew her first. So, I just yeah, I just put her first. [music] But, anyways, um this is Earth. Um don't get too comfortable with this drawing [music] cuz I'm literally going to like erase the whole thing and [music] it's going to look so different at the end. But, yeah, this is like her first design I came up with and I was having such a hard time with her because like like there's so many ways you could design her, especially looking [music] at the image of Earth. Like, we could lean to like more blue or more green. If we're trying to be like realistic here, then I guess more blue, but for some reason I went with more green.
>> [music] >> I don't know why, but like whenever I think of Earth, I always think of like leaves and like the color green and [music] stuff. So, it's like yeah, that's what I went with. Also, >> [music] >> I did keep the jacket. It's a very nice-looking jacket, but I did change like [music] everything else about her.
Like, as you can see, I changed her face and her like legs and her shoes and like everything. But, I did keep [music] the green jacket.
Well, it's a different shade of green now, but yeah.
>> [music] >> Also, I noticed that a lot of Earth human designs have short hair and I feel that's really [music] fitting. So, I just had to give her short hair and I made her a little wavy, too. [music] I also gave her a Fruitiger Eco kind of vibe, like very aesthetic, very aquarium-like, [music] a lot of like plants and leaves. And at the last minute, I changed her skin tone to a more tan one cuz I feel like it just looks better and it's more fitting, too.
>> [music] >> All right, next up is Mercury. And I actually based [music] this design off of not only the neon image of Mercury, [music] but me and my friend actually made this design together. My friend Vanessa, she made um >> [music] >> a Gacha Life character of her. So, yeah, I was basing off this drawing of that.
And I just think it's so cute. So, shout out to my friend. [music] Um Yeah, I mean also Oh, yeah, here you're going to see me I'm going to like change it too. But [music] like it's like two versions. So, what you're seeing right now >> [music] >> what I'm about to do is I'm changing her outfit like >> [music] >> I'm giving her glasses and stuff. And that's actually um my friend made a Roblox avatar [music] of her too and it was a different outfit and I'm like I really like this. This is really cute. So, I'm going to draw it too. So, [music] like both of the outfits that I gave her are like her outfit. I just decided to draw it too, but both of them are her. It's just like a different outfit, you know? [music] And her hair, I was like >> [clears throat] >> having trouble with deciding if I wanted it to be like colorful or if I just wanted to make it like gray. [music] Cuz the actual planet is gray.
But [music] and it doesn't have those neon colors, but obviously I chose the neon colors because it's just it just looks prettier [music] and I want to draw that.
And yeah, I just gave her like a whole vaporwave vibe which you're going to see when I add like the Pinterest pictures.
[music] Um she is very >> [music] >> very cute and I love her so much and shout out to my friend for helping me design her.
>> [music] >> So, yeah.
That's her.
Next up is Venus and from the very beginning [music] I already knew how I wanted her to look.
And also my other friend a [music] different friend this time, but she also made a Gacha Life um reference [music] and also drew her.
So, yeah, I'm also going to be basing it off of that cuz, you know, I like making characters with my friends. So, shout out to my friend Emma. She has amazing art. [music] Um yeah, we decided to make Venus a diva.
Like she's always been a diva in my head.
>> [music] >> Um she she just has this amazing energy.
Very confident.
>> [music] >> Very like like she knows that she's she knows she's a baddie, basically. [music] Like what else can I say?
Um yeah, no, her design is definitely one of my favorites [music] because I just love drawing like very pretty characters. [music] Oh, yeah, I had so much fun coloring her, too.
>> [music] >> I just love warm colors. So, I got to use a bunch of like yellows, oranges, and browns.
>> [music] >> And it was just so pretty. And yeah, I chose um the [music] image of her like that image of the planet.
It's my favorite image [music] of the planet. Like it's actually so pretty. I know Venus is actually more like pale-ish.
Like like kind of like a sand color [music] in real life.
But like I really like this yellow image or it's like golden. Like it's so pretty. So, I just wanted to make her look like that and she definitely has like a very bright [music] like charismatic vibe. So, yeah, that's her.
[music] All right, next up is Jupiter, aka the biggest planet in the solar system. So, I love drawing her. Like I had so much [music] fun when I was designing her because before I started drawing her, I actually made her on gotcha life [music] and I really really loved her design so much and I was like, oh my gosh, like I'm going to have so much fun drawing her and I really did.
Um >> [music] >> I think design-wise, I get a lot of inspiration from Rose Quartz in Steven Universe cuz she just has like >> [music] >> a lot of curly hair, like long curly hair and it's so beautiful and elegant >> [music] >> and I was like, oh my gosh, this is so fun to draw cuz I really love drawing her hair so much. [music] And when I chose that image of Jupiter, um >> [music] >> I was like, okay, I already know I'm going to have so much fun coloring her hair because guys, like coloring is my favorite [music] part. Like not flats, but like shading and stuff is just my favorite part of drawing.
Like I can't if I have a really good looking sketch [music] or like line art, I can't not color it. Like I have to color it. I love giving my art color >> [music] >> and I love her colors especially because I already told you guys this, but I just love warm colors so much. [music] Anything with orange, yellow, red, like I just love it.
>> [music] >> And her hair, it was so fun to draw. It's kind of hard to figure out how I wanted it to look and I wanted to make it look as close to the planet as possible [music] and I think I did a pretty good job.
Uh I had so much fun drawing her and I wanted to make her seem really chill, which I feel like I did a good job cuz she is really just one of the chillest characters out there >> [music] >> that I made. Um And yeah, I just love her so much.
That's Jupiter, one of my faves. On to the second biggest planet in the solar system, which is Saturn and probably one of the most iconic [music] planets out there. I mean, Saturn literally has its own emoji. So, yeah, I mean, >> [music] >> it's definitely one of the most popular planets cuz it looks very unique, [music] especially because it has huge rings. And I feel like when most people, or at least when I think of outer space, one [music] of the first things that pops up in my head is the planet Saturn cuz it's such like a such a outer space [music] type thing to look at. I don't even know, but anyways, of course I gave her rings on her head.
And I also gave um >> [music] >> her round glasses to give her like a lot of circular motifs. And she has like that little grin on her face cuz I low-key made her a crazy scientist.
>> [music] >> I don't know why that came to my mind when I was designing her, but I feel like it kind of fits, especially since like the lab coat and >> [music] >> the muted tones of her outfit.
Um like the neutral tones kind of just fits with the whole color scheme of that planet itself. [music] And yeah, I mean, also I'm really looking at this and I noticed how like how much her hair and the rings on her head really matches with the picture [music] that I chose of Saturn.
And yeah, I just really like the way her design turned out. [music] All right, next is Uranus and I'mma be honest, out of all the designs I've done so far, hers is probably changed [music] the least out of every character cuz if you look at her [music] design now and the old one I made for her, it's going to look very similar, pretty [music] much the same, but obviously it's going to look better in the new art style cuz like I improved and stuff. [music] But you'll see very soon. Now, I wanted her to look cold. Like just basically [music] everything about her screams cold from her expression [music] to the way she holds herself to even like how she dresses, too.
Now, [music] I was having a tough time deciding which version of [music] the planet to like base her off of if I wanted to do >> [music] >> the pale teal one or the more saturated vibrant one.
But, I decided choosing the paler one, [music] which is funny because I haven't really been doing that for the other planets, but for some reason, I don't know. The the light [music] teal really spoke to me, and it kind of inspired me to make >> [music] >> an icy like cold-themed character.
And yeah, that's what I ended up doing. And it's especially fitting cuz Uranus [music] is like the coldest planet in the solar system, which is surprising [music] cuz it's not the furthest one from the sun. But, yeah. This is her, and I really, really like how she came out. So, yeah.
Last but not [music] least, we got Neptune. So, I wanted to um make her the coolest-looking character, and she had the most aura.
But, um I [music] She was probably one of the hardest for me to like design cuz I I had so many ideas, and I didn't know which one to stick with. [music] So, um that OC you see that I was tracing in the background is one of my older characters [music] I made a while back, and I just never used her again. So, like I was just reusing the design kind of, >> [music] >> which I'm like guilty of, but whatever.
Her design definitely went through a lot of changes [music] cuz I made a Gacha Life version of her, which I used as a reference for this drawing.
But, when I actually made a drawing, I really didn't like how the way it turned out. So, I kind of just So, I just decided to [music] erase everything and start all over. I gave her a new expression, a new hairstyle, [music] and even a new outfit. I basically just redrew her entire body. I ended up giving her a suit because [music] honestly, if you ask me the reason why, I'mma just say I like drawing suits.
And [music] honestly, a lot of my character design choices are just really shallow.
And it all just like boils [music] down to like what I like or how I like the way it looks. And yeah.
All [music] right. So, once I finally had everything down and I was happy with the way she looked, I had just so much fun coloring her.
The image I chose of Neptune was a saturated dark [music] blue and I just had so much fun shading her hair and making it look [music] like the planet.
And I just gave her like a starry night outer [music] space vibe. And like she I just really love the colors.
I mean, [music] look, I'm a warm color person, but who doesn't love the shade of dark [music] blue? I really love the way she turned out and I'm really happy with her design.
All [music] right. So, here are the results. Here are all of them together.
And I put them in order of like who's closest [music] to furthest to the sun.
And yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed the video. If you watched the whole thing, [music] thank you so much. And yeah, thanks for checking out my stuff. I'm definitely going to be using these characters. [music] I love planet humans and I'm definitely going to be making like animations.
>> [music] >> And yeah, I just love drawing them so much and yeah, I hope to see you guys again soon.
