Stadium construction follows a sequential process where foundation work, including piling and drainage systems, must be completed before structural elements like pillars and concrete floors can be installed, with the West Stand at Power Court reaching first-floor level after approximately three weeks of construction, demonstrating how major infrastructure projects progress through distinct phases from groundwork to structural elevation.

Luton Town Power Court Is Rising Fast! Three Stands Now Under Construction
Added:Power Courtourt, the new home of Lutontown Football Club. And we're over the South Stand with construction underway on the West, South, and Eastern Stands. We saw last week the South Stand ready for concrete to be poured.
Concrete was poured earlier in the week.
We've already got pillars arriving, not pillars arriving, pillars appearing. And as we move around to the west end, we can see loads of construction has taken place. about 50% of that stand now at the first floor level. The other section looking pretty much like it's ready for concrete. The area where that underground level was seems to be filled with something. There's almost like a a new bit of metal over the top, like a support. So, we'll see what happens there. But, as we come across over the West End now, you can see it's really starting to take shape. And where we at now? We're probably 3 weeks on from the first pillars appearing here. So, I expect that southern stand to quickly catch up. You know, if they get the concrete poured, I wonder if we'll start to see that at first floor level by the end of next week. As we look across the West End, it also looks that they've been excavating around those piles that we could see last week. They've now got all this fencing around them to keep them safe. But the uh the main thing is that main level has really come on this week. The other thing around the site is the drainage works. So the drainage works have really are probably holding up that eastern stand. There is nothing from the club to to say there's a delay, but they do seem to be dragging on now, don't they? But like I said, the west end there, all of the final bits of um piling now exposed. So we'll soon see I think things appearing out of the ground there and concrete being poured. So as we head towards the drainage works does look a lot busier that with bits and pieces delivered more drainage pipes on site by the look of it. Some moved around and as we look there the holes now being exposed. Now this is where I wondered what was going on last week.
You can see there that huge piping looks like they've dug down but no works have taken place in it yet.
I love how complex this looks. Love to know what actually is going on there. If anyone does know and can explain why there's so much pipes instead of just one massive one running between them, let me know in the comments. But there's all these different shapes that have appeared this week. Maybe it's just where they've moved the pipes around.
But there seems to be a few different bits of piping in place there ready to be installed. And now I did wonder whether we could see the run of the stand there, but I think it's a mistake.
I I span the drone around at this point thinking I can make out the shape of the stand, but yeah, it looks like it's a bit too raised still. Pitch will be in the center here. Obviously got the tower crane at the bottom there with the red line around the top. But as we look there, this is where I thought we could see the outline of the stand, but mistaken. But looks like there's a load of new drainage arrived this week. I wonder if we'll quickly see that being installed in to where the east stand will be just because they've got to get this done before the east end can be put in place. You know, this is the area where they need to get working. Look massive red car just went under the drone there. Didn't spot that while filming this, but yeah, the uh drainage works do seem to be dragging on. We'll have a quick look over in the hole. see if we can see anything. This was filmed after hours, which really is helpful. No one around to annoy with the drone or any way to stop the cranes. That's not what we want to do. We want to get the videos done. And uh yeah, if the if the if the club would like to give us a tour, it would be appreciated. I am open to that. If the club want to invite me on site to have a look at uh they can always contact me through YouTube or Facebook. But there you are. There's the the new pipe that's in place. And uh the old one here being temporary diverted while they put the the new one in place.
Can't really make it out. They could leave a light down there, couldn't they?
Yeah, you can't see down that hole, which is a shame.
But you see there the foundations of the East End. Finally, people were celebrating last week. Now you can see on the bottom right here screen, that's the base of the next tower crane. I think it's going to be in line with part of the east stand by the look of that as we look across to the southern stand.
Lots of work this week and are ready to have the concrete poured and get some more pillars in and get this one up to the first floor as well. So I wonder when we'll see that and when that'll take place. Hopefully hopefully when I get back next week I come along we can have another stand appearing out of the ground. But for now, got those foundations. Bit more piling there. Just two left, isn't there? You can see them there not being exposed. Well, like I said, looks like that tower crane might just be in the way of the stand. So, I wonder if they'll build into it around it and then remove the the tower crane at the end. Looks like there's two more piles just next to that fencing, but can't see any more anywhere else for that stand. So, we'll have to get that drainage work completed and then they can use another entrance. But there's the west. Now, someone said to me that that's the the players tunnel coming out next to the the skip there. And that'll be interesting if it is. But it gives you an idea now about the shape of the stand. We'll soon hopefully start to see some of the actual terraces arriving. I wonder if they get this to a certain point, they'll start building this one up and maybe move around and meet the southern stand. Probably won't be in the middle because the size of them, but the uh work is definitely progressing here.
Lots more equipment and pieces waiting in the center there. And I was surprised they they weren't working actually. When I arrived just before 6:00 when I came past on the train the other night, there was still people working away. Really busy on site here getting that concrete paw done on the southern stand. But we, like I said, as you look across here, first floor level definitely in place now. And uh I expect we'll see the floor of that side on the far side of the West End poured hopefully early next week and then by the end of the week hopefully we'll start to see the pillars rising out and as we've seen over on the stage.
Once that happens it's really easy to build up the stand. It's getting above the ground level. That takes the time.
And once you're above the ground level, these things seem to fly up. And then before we know it, we should hopefully see by the end of August a bit of terracing in place. Coming nice and low now. We can have a a good look around.
Obviously, still a good 25 m. It just looks from the drone like it's really low. That's the the benefit of the technology. And you can look straight through. We can see there's a huge looks like a pillar is going to be poured down the center there to support something.
And uh we pass over the top of the diverted river. One of the open culverts. One of three that are in place at the moment. I think there's another two to come through the holiday car park and over to where the pub has the river flows beneath you sign on the side of it. But that is power court. If you are interested, the channel is primarily following Power Court, Universal, United Kingdom up in Bedford. We also have videos on the Black Cat Roundabout, but we also got a Facebook page where I post pictures of everything we we do videos on. But like I said, I think this will be the next thing to see. I think the co concrete trucks will arrive again and pour this. Now, this is where the hole in the ground was that everyone was so intrigued about.
And now we really can't see anything of the sort.
Looks like there's going to be something really big there. You see all the rebar sticking out. Looks like that's going to be some huge support there, doesn't it?
I obviously I'm guessing this isn't my specialtity.
But we look around and all everything popping up and everything that you got some utility ducks that suddenly appear.
You can see them there on the bottom left of your screen as we pass over the top to take a look. Looks like there's going to be a huge channel of concrete there at the bottom of your screen as well. And there's those pillars for the southern stand. All done this week. And I expect we'll see more of that by this time next week when we come along and do the next update. Going to be doing weekly updates from Power Cort. So, if you are new and you're interested here in the future of Luton, make sure you hit that subscribe button. Make sure you come over to Facebook and hit follow as well. And uh I do share to the couple of Luton groups I know about, but uh I don't really know where else to put the content.
