NDA's First Mangal Milan: Floor Strategy, Key Bills And Opposition Response | India Today

[00:00:00]Some breaking news. Prime Minister Modi has arrived for the Mongal Millan meeting which is the NDA parliamentary meeting. Those are the visuals of Prime Minister Modi arriving for the very crucial meeting. In fact, the other NDA MPs have also arrived for uh the key parliamentary meeting. Uh the key parliamentary meeting of the NDA which will now be known as the Mongal Millan.

Uh so the NDA parliamentary meeting will now be called Mongal Millan and this will be a weekly meeting and in fact not just prime minister but homeless Amit Shai and the other top NDA ministers have also arrived for the Mongal Millan meet uh this uh meeting will begin any time from now now that Prime Minister Modi has also arrived and what we're also learning is that the NDA MPs will be lauding Prime Minister Modi's record tenure as the Prime Minister because he's become the longest serving uh continuously ly elected prime minister of India and hence that record will be lauded. Uh the NDA parties will be congratulating him for this record. Uh in fact prime minister Modi himself will also be addressing all the NDA leaders in this Mongol mill.

[00:01:08]So this is NDS's first Mangal Milan meeting of the monsoon session which is all set to get underway in the parliament with Prime Minister Narendra Modi uh leading the gathering of the India MPs and uh this Mangal Milan is the new name for its parliamentary party meetings replacing the earlier format with a rebranded weekly coordination exercise during the parliament sessions.

[00:01:29]In fact, this meeting is expected to focus on the government's flow strategy for the monsoon session, coordination among the uh alliance partners and also preparations to ensure the smooth passage of key bills in both the houses.

[00:01:41]The NDA leadership is also likely to brief the MPs on uh the government's legislative priorities, expected opposition attacks and also the messaging to be maintained inside and outside the parliament. While the opposition is gearing up to corner the government on multiple issues, the first Mongol mill uh meeting is being seen as the NDA strategy huddle before the political battle shifts to the floor of the parliament. So today's the second day of the monsoon session of the parliament which will begin at 11:00 a.m. And at 9:30 uh the senior leaders, all the top leaders of the India have already arrived and there you see Prime Minister Modi has also arrived. Home Minister Amit Sha and other top India ministers have also arrived. So you can see Prime Minister Modi along with parliamentary affairs minister Kiran Puju and Jotendra Singh also accompanying the prime minister for the Mongal millan.

[00:02:35]So let us now understand what exactly is the Mongal millan. So this is uh the NDA's uh uh parliamentary meeting which has now got its new name and this new name is for the NDA parliamentary party meetings and the NDA MPs from both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha are part of this meeting. They've already arrived. Uh this rebranding has been uh done from this current monsoon session and today is the first uh such meeting.

[00:03:02]Uh this is a weekly coordination meeting of the NDA leaders and MP. So this uh Mongal melon will be held weekly on uh most probably every Tuesday of uh uh this meeting will be held and where the NDA MPs will be discussing the strategy.

[00:03:16]Now why this meeting? Uh this is uh this meeting is being held to finalize the flow strategy to also ensure coordination among the NDA allies and to also brief the MPs on the government's legislative agenda. So all [music] that will be discussed. they will also be prepared for the opposition attacks that because the opposition is gearing up to corner the government. So that will also be discussed uh and to also maintain a unified stand during the debates and voting. So this is this will not just be attended by the BJP MPs but in fact all the allies of the uh of the NDA will be attending. So uh this is also to maintain that all of them have a unified stand uh during the debates in the parliament and also during [music] the voting. Let's understand the exact agenda of the Mongal millan. So uh this is to fine-tune the strategy for the monsoon session. Also discussion on the key government bills will also be held.

[00:04:09]Uh the flow management and issuing whips will also be discussed uh to charge role of the NDA allies in the parliament. So that is also something which is going to be discussed in the Mongol mill. Uh the response to opposition's campaign. So how is the NDA going to response to uh the charges and the campaigns by the opposition? that will also be discussed in this meeting and to also ensure the smooth passage of the bills and business and so that there's a unified stand of the entire NDA and that makes the passage of the bills smooth.
