In the Telugu lesson Naladautyam, King Nalu of Nishada and Princess Damayanti of Vidarbha fell in love through a swan without ever seeing each other. When four gods (Yamadharmaraja, Varuna, Agni, and Indra) arranged a swayamvaram for Damayanti, she boldly declared Nalu as her chosen husband. On the day of the swayamvaram, the gods disguised themselves as black men, making it difficult to identify the real Nalu. Damayanti recognized him by observing that gods do not sweat, blink, collect dust, or wither, while humans do. She placed a garland around Nalu's neck, and the gods blessed their true love with boons: Agni granted him the power to appear whenever he wished, Yama promised delicious food when he cooks with a moral mind, Varuna promised water whenever he asks and fresh garlands, and Indra promised successful yagnas and fame. The moral teaches that true love always wins, God helps those who follow Dharma, and keeping one's word is a great virtue.

Added:Friends, you all know this and have already seen it in the thumbnail. In this video, we will discuss a lesson called Naladautyam in detail. Even if you have zero knowledge or don't know what the story is, you can easily understand it in this one video. So, whatever story I told you, that's what you'll have to write in the examination.
And another thing is, whether in the materials or in other textbooks, the words are so difficult that even if you actually read the story, you won't understand it. So that's why I have prepared easy notes for all of you and these notes will be available free of cost in our Telegram group.
Okay, so what we are discussing in this video today is we are discussing about the lesson Nadautyam. Okay, so we are learning this lesson called Nadautyam completely. In this lesson, we will tell you about the love of the four Damayantis, their Swayamvaram, the test of the gods, and finally how Damayanti recognized the four and married them.
Okay, so in this particular story, we will talk about the four, the other about Damayanti's love, their Swayamvaram, their initiation by the gods, and finally how Damayanti recognized these four and married them. It is an interesting story. Listen to the story once. How did this story start? Nalu is the king of the kingdom of Nishada.
Who is the king of a kingdom called Nishada? Nalu is very handsome, pious and a good ruler who loves the people. His king is very good. He is very beautiful. He does good for the people.
He is very beautiful. He is a self-effortful person. Who is Nalu? Damayanti is the daughter of the king of Vidarbha. Vidarbha is a place. This Damayanti is the daughter of whoever is the king of Vidarbha. She is also very beautiful. She is a princess with good qualities.
So she is also very good. Like a princess and is very beautiful.
Two different places. One king is the daughter of another king.
Through a swan, Nalu and Damayanti got to know each other and fell in love before they even saw each other. So without seeing means that for Veemaki and them, Nalu cannot see Damayanti and Damayanti cannot see Nalu. Without seeing the two of them, they both fell in love through a swan. They loved each other and loved each other.
How did their swayamvaram come about?
Swayamvaram means that if the kings had all these things, there would be a swayamvaram. How would a swayamvaram be like? They arranged a swayamvaram for Damayanti. Who is their daddy [Gurakal] King, who is there, who is Bhima, the king of Vidarbha, who is Bhimana, who is there, what is he called, they have done the swayamvara, okay, Indra, Agni, Varuna, and Yamadharmaraja also wanted to marry Damayanti, okay, when this swayamvara was said to be the name of a certain king, Yamadharmaraja, Varuna, Agni, Indra, and many others said that they wanted to marry Damayanti, and they got a little hopeful. They called four people and asked them, who are the four, these four, these particular four, whoever is there, okay, go on our behalf and tell Damayanti to marry us.
Respecting the word of the gods, Nalu went to Damayanti and told him the matter. So this Yamadharmaraja Varuna, all of them are there, don't they want to marry, who is Damayanti? So they all called this Naldu and said that we want to get married like this, you go and talk on our behalf and tell this Naldu.
So they are gods anyway, I said that there is no reason for them, they went and said that this particular Naldu will go and tell all this to Damayanti.
Damayanti said what decision did she make then? Damayanti said that I have decided in my mind that Naldu is my husband. Nalu means who is Naldu. Okay, my decision will not change even if it is a god. She said boldly that I already have someone in my mind as a husband. If I get married, I will marry him.
I will not think of anyone else like that. She said that even if it is a god, I will reject him. That's what it means. It's okay to say that she said it boldly, it's okay to say that she told someone's father like this, it's okay to say that she told the king like this, it's okay, the test of the gods. On the day of the Swayamvaram, the gods took on the form of a black man. What happened on the day of Swayam Swayamvaram is that now somehow Ima likes this person named Palana Nalu, so whoever the names of this Yamadharmaraja or Varuna or any other person mentioned above, they are all in this disguise, that is, in the same form as this Nalu. There were five Nalu in total, meaning that there were five people without the same person. It is very difficult to identify who the real Nalu is.
Now if there are five people of the same person, will we remember who this is? Don't we remember?
How did Damayanti recognize it?
How did she actually remember the correct Nalu? That is, Damayanti prayed to the gods.
Damayanti prayed to the gods. Then she noticed some symptoms. Gods do not sweat, they do not blink their eyes, they do not collect dust, they do not wither, they do not touch the ground with their feet. Now, for example, when we pray with devotion, we say that all these qualities are possessed by gods. Okay, they are possessed by gods. They do not sweat, they do not blink their eyes like this. Okay, that's right, they do not touch our earth with their feet completely. They have done some tricks like this. But Nalladu is not a god, right? Nalladu is a human being. He sweated, blinked, collected dust, and used a little garland.
Seeing all these qualities, Damayanti identified the four true people. So what do you call all this? Seeing this thing, she remembered Damayanti because it was easy, out of five or four members, there are gods, gods like Varuna and Yamadharmaraja, so if they weren't all like this, they wouldn't have sweaty feet, so whoever this person was, she remembered him. She remembered Naludi. How their marriage took place was explained by Damayanti placing a garland around Nala's neck in front of everyone. Even the gods respected and blessed her true love. The Boon of Fire God The God of Fire gave a boon to Nalu that he would appear whenever he wished.
Here, Agnidev also participated in this swayamvaram, so they too would understand her true love and accept it. Then the god of fire grants a boon. No one is black. What? They say that whenever you remember me, I will appear before you, a boon. What boon does Yama give?
Yama, the Dharma King, gave a boon to Nalu, saying that when you have a moral mind, the food you cook will be very tasty. When will your Dharma intellect be, that is, he has a good quality, now that Nalu has a good quality, everyone should take good care of the people, my kingdom should be good, won't that intellect always be the same for you, saying that the food will be delicious no matter when you cook it, and saying that Varuna God gives this boon, saying that you will get water whenever you ask for it, and that your garlands will always be fresh, Varuna gives this boon to Nalu, saying that whenever you ask for it, water will come to you, and your flowers will never wither, and your garlands will always be fresh, and saying that he gives this boon.
What boon does Indra give? Indra blesses you with the promise that your yagnas will be successful and you will gain good name and fame. So Indra also participated in this, right? Out of the four, what he is saying is that whenever you perform yagnas, they will all be successful and your fame and good name will be known to everyone, and he gives you a boon. So this is the thing of the lesson, this is the story. The moral of this is that true love always wins.
God helps those who follow the Dharma.
Keeping one's word is a great virtue. Everyone respects those who have good qualities. So this song is a moral of the story. True love always wins. And if you are the right person, God always helps those who follow the Dharma. Keeping one's word is a great quality for a man, and everyone respects those who have good qualities.
Now Damayanti remembered Naludi. Then all the gods accepted their good, true, pure love and they all passed away. So that's it, okay, this is about the story.
Write this story in the exam and you will get full marks. Four, Damayanti, Indra, Surya, Indra, Yama, Dharmaraja, Varuna.
Remember all these names. How many gods came to the kitchen? Yama, Varuna, okay, who else? Yama, Varuna, Indra, okay. So, one minute revision. What is Four? He is the king of a country. Damayanti is the name of the princess of Vidarbha, the daughter of Bhima of Vidarbha. It should be remembered that the two fell in love through the swan.
This highlight point should be written as a compulsory subject in the exam.
Another highlight is that all the gods came to the swayamvara. All the gods wore the form of black people. Damayanti recognized true love and placed it on Varamala Naludi. All the gods happily accepted their true love and gave them boons.
This story teaches us true love, righteousness, and greatness. I am telling you all this as a rapid revision, meaning have we learned anything more than this?
Okay, did you understand? I hope you understood the lesson.
If you did, comment in the comment section. If you did, there are further explanations, meaning other stories, and I will explain them all on our channel.
Okay, so these PDFs are freely uploaded in our Telegram group.
Okay, so see you all in the next video, students. All the very best for your preparation and thank you so much.
