Excess Solar + Space Heater Instead Of Gas Furnace?

[00:00:00]So, my wife is gone, so I've turned the grid off, obviously.

[00:00:05]She's the only reason why I keep the grid on around here. We'll rough it. So, the temperature of the thermostat I turned down before I turned the grid off, I popped it down to 68 cuz I want the heater to be off when I do that. I don't know. It doesn't matter. But, it is a little chilly and I was starting to feel it. So, I grabbed this heater.

[00:00:23]There's a reason why I grabbed this heater. Well, it's not a reason why I grabbed this heater. I grabbed this heater to see if I could warm up this space a little bit using 750 W because my furnace uses 500 W just for the blower, right? So, I'm like, pay for the blower, 500 W, and for the gas, whatever gas it uses. So, this was full, the AC 70P.

[00:00:47]You see it's using 754 W.

[00:00:50]That's a 700 W heater setting that I'm using. It's a 1,000 W inverter, so I wouldn't go up much higher than that. I could go up to the second level, which is about 900 W. I believe, I believe, but this is full, so I'm going to pull some power out of it. That's the panel right there that is hooked up to. So, that's a 290 or so. It needs to be stacked like that one, so it gets better power. It should be getting in Actually, let's check it. And here is the solar charge controller problem rearing its ugly head again. The Bluetti AC70, they both have this issue.

[00:01:22]Um I have to unplug and then let the voltage completely go out of the MPPT for a second or three.

[00:01:31]And then I have to plug it back in.

[00:01:34]There's a video I made about that. I'll kind of chop it up and put it up here somewhere. And now you can see it's really getting the power in. So, that one's going to be getting 240, 250. I don't know about that. It's pretty good.

[00:01:48]It's cold out and it's bright, so maybe that's what it is.

[00:01:51]So, um 253. Actually, let's go put the other panel right next to it and see if it gets the same. That's interesting.

[00:01:58]That's a good bit of power. What I usually do is move this panel down to accommodate this panel, but what I'm going to do is I'm going to pull this down and put it right here so I don't move that one. I want that one to stay where it is as to cause the charge controller to not have to adjust again and me putting shade in front of it and all that. Yeah, so I'm going to try my best not to interrupt this by putting this panel here and then we'll see if we get the same, which we typically do. All right, that's what we're looking at.

[00:02:25]Not going to leave them like that, but let's check it out. All right, this is the AC70 still getting 257.

[00:02:39]That's good enough for me. And that's close enough. So, 250 watts, 750 watt load, I'll be good to run that for a good bit, actually. We don't even have to guess. It tells us right there, 1.3 hours before it runs out of power. I wouldn't do that.

[00:02:55]I'll probably run it for like an hour or so and then give it a break or maybe put it on this one or plug it into something else. I don't know. I'm off the grid.

[00:03:15]So, it really didn't have an effect on the living room temperature. So, I just had to turn the real heat on and the power station is empty, so yeah, I know. It is what it is. Don't worry about it.
