[00:01:02]Hope you all are doing well. It is literally I don't know what the heck is going on with this freaking weather. So last week we sadly had to experience wildfire haze. I don't know what else to call it from the wildfires that are happening in Canada, which I I'm hoping everyone is okay. That's just the craziest thing. And it did happen to us here in Rhode Island a few years ago as well. Of course, other parts of the Northeast, they they experienced it, too.

[00:01:34]But now our weather is literally comparable to the fall.

[00:01:41]And I know that some of you all are excited. Apples, pumpkins, going on hay rides, rolling around in in the freshly mowed grass which is almost turned to hay, the leaves falling.

[00:01:58]gonna rake them up and then look outside and they're all falling again. It's annoying. I'm sorry. I like fall. I I talked to a good friend of mine the other night and I said, you know, she's been in Florida like 20 years, which is crazy to even imagine. We've been friends since we were children, literally little girls. And we reconnected, which is so awesome. I reached out. I'm I'm so happy I did. But anyway, so I said, you know, would you ever move back to Rhode Island and she said, you know, and I kind of felt a little bit, she was like, you know, she loves Florida, but she said that she misses the seasons. She misses fall. She misses fall. And I have to say fall is beautiful here.

[00:02:46]Spring cuz it rains literally all the time in the spring. And then we just jump into summer. But now it feels like summer is almost over, which is so freaking sad to me. I I don't like that at all. So, I know that some of you may have may be thinking, "We'll just move somewhere warmer." And I don't know. I don't know. I've been thinking I really have been truly thinking about it, but it's such a hard thing. It really is such a hard thing to just pick up your whole life and start all over again at this stage.

[00:03:26]Could we do it? We could. We could do it. It would be a lot. You know, we're still trying to get rid of stuff. Oh my god. And I feel like that's never [laughter] [sighs and gasps] Isn't that horrible? I I just feel like it's never going to happen. I'm just going to have stuff.

[00:03:42]I'm going to die in stuff. I don't like that. But anyway, so it just feels like fall. I'm wearing a sweatshirt in the morning.

[00:03:51]I am putting the heat on in the car if I have to go out. That's not normal. It's July. It's still the middle of July.

[00:04:33]The EAA air venture Oshkosh, commonly known as Oshkosh. I just said that though is the world's largest aviation celebration and air show taking place from July 20th through July 26th at the Whitman Regional Airport in Ashkosh, Wisconsin.

[00:04:56]And the week-long event features daily air shows, milestone anniversaries of iconic aircraft and educational workshops. That's very, very cool. And it draws about 700,000 people. Oh, it's a lot of people.

[00:05:13]But you know, Tanya, good for you. I'm a little weird. So, don't go by me. Now, let's see. How far how far is Ashkosh from Rine?

[00:05:30]And that's almost 2 hours away cuz that's where Robert Flechman from Journey lives I think still. I was going to say you could take a road trip or you could reach out to him on Facebook and say hi. You don't know who I am and I would love to meet you and he might be like yeah he's he's really chill. He's really cool. He might be like sure meet me at this coffee shop right down the street from my house. Who knows? I don't know. I'm just throwing it out there cuz I'm weird. But anyway, let's go ahead.

[00:06:02]There have been some concert cancellations due to wildfires in Canada and extreme extreme weather conditions. Toto just posted this yesterday. Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, we were unable to perform our July 18th show at PNC Bank Arts Center in Homeell, New Jersey.

[00:06:26]Geography and scheduling conflicts make it impossible to simply reschedu. Oh wow. Cuz Toto is pretty busy. No, we tried to find a solution. We apologize for any inconvenience. [00:07:36]So there was a different reason for his show getting cancelled and his show got cancelled right before he was supposed to go on stage due to poor air quality.

[00:12:25]So, that show did go on. Now, something else that has been popping up on my feed has been train and journey.

[00:12:38]Not journey. Journey has not been popping up on anything to be quite honest. Probably because they're taking a rest. But train like train singing journey songs.

[00:12:51]Train is singing a journey song, but it's not really train singing the journey song. And honestly, I don't even care if I get demonetized from my 20 cents that I would make from this video, but I'm gonna play this because it's so effing incredible.

[00:13:06]And it's kind of curious to me why Pat Monahan's son, I think his name is Rock, would be out in a train concert playing a Journey song.

[00:13:20]So, there might be a little something something happening here. And if there's not, there should be because you're going to tell me how incredible. And if this gets blocked, at least you're seeing it now, cuz it might. And I might have to take this section out. But I will tell you, it's worth it to see this kid and hear this kid. It's incredible.

[00:13:45]Now, I see a lot of people on TikTok singing Journey songs, and there are some pretty amazing people out there, I will tell you. I mean, sick, sick. And they're singing for a long period of time because me, like, I can sing a couple of notes really good, but like two notes and then I'm cooked. I'm fried. But there are people that can sing and sing and sing and sing and sing really amazingly.

[00:14:17]this kid is going to do amazing amazing things and and his dad is a lead secret train. So, hi. He's already gunning in, you know, and then some of these kids be like, "No, no, no. I want to do it on my own. Why? Let your dad help you." Trust me, let daddy help you. Okay, so here we go. And again, if it gets blocked later, you'll know why. However, we're going to watch it now. And if it gets blocked, I'll hopefully remember to take it out and then repost it somewhere else.

JJ French says the public is going to ultimately decide whether they accept Sebastian Bach as new singer of Twisted Sister. This is from Blabbermouth.

[00:17:25]Tim Cable, I think that's how you say his name, of rock and blues experience did an interview with Twisted Sister guitarist JJ French and they talked about Sebastian coming into the band. Now, my question has been, how is D. Snider feeling about Sebastian's behavior at certain times towards fans? You know, there's been a couple of hairy hairy moments there. So, I was kind of wondering that because now D, you know, he has health challenges.

[00:17:59]He had to retire from Twisted Sister. He told the band they're like, "Wait a minute. What?" So, they got Sebastian to come in. And I have to say, Sebastian's voice is pretty good. Let's be honest. I mean, he he's he's a really good singer still to this day, but it's just the other stuff that goes around Sebastian that makes you wonder, you know, will fans accept him? I think they have already, though, you know, and JJ went on to say, "Sbastian really is the only person that could do it." Talking about filling in De's shoes. He's the only larger than-l life guy with the chops and the stage presence to do it. And I called him and he was like, "Yeah, man."

[00:18:41]And I No, man. Yeah. Yeah, man. I'd love to. Yeah, man. I'd love to.

[00:18:49]He's so enthusiastic. I gotta love it. I love it. I love it. I mean, how would we even do a Sebastian person?

[00:19:01]So JJ said, "We did eight hours of rehearsal with Sebastian. He was amazing. So I have no doubts how great it's going to be."

[00:19:22]Sebastian's sounding pretty good and he seems to have slipped right into that role. So, let's watch. Today is a day of watching clips. I feel like I'm the substitute teacher and I'm just showing you movies all class, right? I mean, because that's really, let's face it, when the sub, you knew when you had a sub, you walked in that classroom and your teacher was not there, but the sub walked in, you're like, "Yes, she's and she rolls in the TV with the VCR player, the big clunky VC." You knew it was going to be a good period, man. You were all about it. What are we gonna watch today? Are we gonna watch Peanuts? Oh, we are we going to watch Little House on the Prairie? [00:21:39]We know that D. Snider, again, he left Twisted Sister due to health issues. He beyond his control. But did anyone have any idea?

[00:21:49]any idea at all that D. Snider and his wife Susette had squatters living in the her parents' house that was left to her and D well I I guess left to her really for five years.

[00:22:07]Five freaking years. So there's a lot of anxiety, sadness, anger, all that stuff has been going on in the background as well, which I am sure did not have a positive effect on De's health.

[00:22:25]This is terrible. So you're going to watch this, too. Telling you, I'm the substitute teacher today. Just showing you clippy clips because this to me enraged me. Enraged me. And then I started going down the Squatter rabbit hole and there's actually a bunch of shows. I don't know. This one I think was on A&E, but there's other ones on Hulu. And man, what people can do and you have no right as the owner. Oh my god. I Oh. All right. So, let's let's watch this. And man, D and his wife is that have been through it. De and Susette Snider. De is a well-known rock star, but squatters can happen to anybody.

[00:23:12]>> She brought in her entire family to live at the house without permission. What about utilities?

[00:23:22]>> $3,000 a month in utilities.

[00:23:24]>> Rockstar D. Snider's house was taken over by illegal squatters, leaving him with no choice but to call the Flash team for help. The property was a family inheritance from his wife Susette's parents. For 5 years, Melissa, the former nanny, and her family lived there without paying a single dollar in rent.

[00:23:38]The worst part was the law was not on Susette's side.

[00:23:41]>> Now, I don't think she was the nanny.

[00:23:43]She was the caregiver to Susette's dad.

[00:23:46]So, let's let's clear that up. And, you know, there are a lot of wonderful caregivers out there, but there are also a lot of snaky ones that you have to be super careful about cuz they're not there to help you. They're there to steal from you. I know because we went through it with my grandma. God rest her soul. My grandpa, they stole every bit of jewelry from my grandmother. Every last bit of it. And my mom and aunts, God, God bless their souls as well.

[00:24:17]You know, we're all just trusting people.

[00:24:21]And they started noticing things missing when it was just too late. It was too late. everything had already been gone, you know, because they allowed these people to come into my grandparents home to keep my grandma there as long as they could. And it probably could have worked out that she could have stayed home longer, but when they found out that these women were stealing from them, they lost their minds. And I don't blame I was I was much younger. I mean, I was still, my gosh, I was when my grandma passed away, I actually was pregnant with my son Corey, but she had been ill for a very long time, like almost 10 years. So, they were going through it and you just have to watch who you trust. I could never in my right mind, first of all, steal from anybody, second of all, steal from an elderly person. But it happens. It does happen. So, let's continue watching.

[00:25:21]>> Under US law, homeowners cannot simply shut off a sweater's water or electricity without permission. Breaking that rule could lead to lawsuits or even criminal charges to protect the property and stay within the law. Susette was forced to keep the utilities running.

[00:25:34]She paid more than $3,000 every month to cover the bills for [music] the people living inside her own house. When Susette's family went there before to settle the situation, Melissa immediately kicked them out. The squatters even called [music] the police and accused the actual homeowner of trespassing.

[00:25:47]>> And they can do that, you know.

[00:25:50]And the few other Squatter shows that I watched in one the homeowner, this was happening to her dad's house. She got arrested. She literally went to jail.

[00:26:01]She got out.

[00:26:03]But how she got out of it was she called one of the local news stations and one of the reporters, he was doing a lot of stories on squatters. So she was fortunate enough that he found out about her story. I think she reached out to him and many other people did too and he helped her. So these folks D and Susette went through this for 5 years. I can't even I would have Oh knew Melissa was not the rightful [music] owner. However, they had no legal power to remove her.

[00:26:36]The rules protected the squatters, leaving Melissa's family free to stay there without paying rent. For Susette, this house meant more than just property. It was the last memory she had of her late father, a gifted musician.

[00:26:46]Inside the home [music] were his most precious instruments, including keyboards and saxophones. The Flash team arrived determined to take the house back. With a valid lease agreement in hand, they confronted Melissa and gave her a clear choice. Sign the move out agreement by the deadline or face immediate eviction proceedings. Under the team's legal pressure and psychological tactics, Melissa's family finally broke down. They realized they had no way to keep the house. They signed the agreement and handed [music] over the keys. Susette finally got her home back. She also recovered her father's treasured musical instruments.

[00:27:15]After 5 years of stress and frustration, this squatter nightmare was finally [music] brought to an end by Flash.

I mean, well, so this this gentleman Flash goes in, he gets the owners to sign a real lease agreement, saying that he's the one leasing the house and he can do whatever he wants. Basically, he can go in, he can stand there, you know, for 24/7 until they get out, intimidate that. He can do whatever he wants.

[00:27:40]And that's exactly what he did and finally got them to leave. And then another episode I watched of his, he had to pay the people to get out.

[00:27:50]I can't like I just can't even imagine.

[00:27:54]So I'm glad that Deian Susette got their property back, but what an ordeal that must have been for them to go through.

[00:28:04]So, I'm sure that added to his health issues for sure, 100%. Stress, stress can do stupid things to a body.

[00:28:16]Okay, Bon Joy, let's talk about him for a minute or two.

[00:28:20]So, he's doing his Forever Tour residency at MSG Madison Square Garden. And I guess the other night fans were a little perplexed because he dropped three songs before he left the stage. So it was three songs short and fans were like, "What the what? What the what?" And let's go to ultimate classic rock.

[00:28:50]So this was John's sixth show at Madison Square Garden. happened on July 19th on Sunday.

[00:28:58]And I guess John sings this song all the time. What was this? So he the three songs he drops dropped were Red, White, and Jersey. Always, which I think he ends the show by that. He closed shows three, four, and five with Always. And wanted Dead or Alive.

[00:29:19]So those were gone. didn't sing them.

[00:29:24]And his MSG shows have gone from two hours and 15 minutes to two hours and 30 minutes. About 21 to 23 songs per show.

[00:29:35]And the July 19th show only lasted 2 hours and 5 minutes and John gave 20 songs. So people are really focusing.

[00:29:46]They're hyperfocused on what John is singing, when he's singing it, and how he's singing it, like no matter what.

[00:29:57]So, their 1994 power ballad hit, Always, again, has been performed on three of the six nights, and people were just not happy about it at all. So, let's go to more clipsies, shall we? Because again, this is what I'm doing today. I just I'm all about it and I love it. I love it. I love watching these things because you can't Not everybody's on TikTok. Let's just be honest. So, this was them at the end of the show and he's looking pretty happy, you know, [cheering] looking happy.

[00:31:23]But again, that's the 2022 show. They didn't come back on and do three more songs. Not playing Wanted was criminal. personally don't think we should hate one. John really seemed happy on stage at my concert. The energy was amazing. He probably didn't feel well. He's old. We'll just put that out there. I didn't say that. And he's one of the youngest in the band. So, think about the other members. They're older, too.

You know, it probably should be the last tour because I think he cut this the songs three the he cut the show three songs short because his throat was hurting him, you know, and he doesn't want to do that. [00:34:50]>> Let's talk BonJovi. I was at the concert last night, Madison Square Garden. I heard that his voice was not the greatest going into this whole thing. Is he what he was years ago? Absolutely not. Could you tell that he's having some difficulty? Yes. I was right at the screen so I could see him. every muscle in his face. He was working to get his instrument, his sound out. It wasn't easy. Did he leave three songs early last night? He did. Should he continue?

[00:35:27]I don't know. I mean, you continue doing this and you're straining your voice. Is it the greatest thing? I don't think he's doing it for the money. I think he absolutely loves performing. So, I'm going to say that, you know, last night's show wasn't up to par, but he really really made an effort to do what he could to, you know, get the audience moving and it was a great show.

[00:35:55]>> So, she enjoyed it. She said it was a great show. She does not think it's a money grab. I don't believe so either, to be quite honest. But I think if it was a money grab, let's be honest, he wouldn't have worked as hard as he did to be able to get back on that stage.

And I do think there's a cut off. You know, Vince Neil, I'm a supporter of Vince because of the fact that I know he's had several strokes and I give him credit for going out there.

Guy's been through a tremendous amount. I'm not saying not talking about what he's done in his past, all all the the women and all of that stuff. Listen, I'm not even going down that road. I'm going about today, you know, and what he's been through health-wise.

[00:42:45]It's the eye of the tiger. It's the of the fight.

[00:42:51]Yeah. So, Eye of the Tiger was actually in the number four spot today on this day, July 21st of 1982.

[00:43:02]And it was written by Jim Peter and Frankie Sullivan for the 1982 film Rocky 3. And isn't it so weird to say that in 1982 they were on Rocky 3, which is crazy? The song almost did not happen because of Queen Sylvester Stallone wanted to use Queen's Another One Bites the Dust, which I didn't even know. He wanted to use that for Rocky 3 instead, but he couldn't secure the rights. So, he actually himself reached out to the band Survivor to create a custom song for Rocky 3. And the song was almost called Survival.

[00:43:43]That's it. Survival. Not Eye of the Tiger. Survival. Like Eye of the Tiger is pretty intense. So the songwriters initially built the hook around the word survival to rhyme with rival because that's what Rocky's all about. And then they went and debated whether Eye of the Tiger sounded too obvious before changing it. No, I love Eye of the Tiger. This is great move. Great move.

[00:44:08]Sylvester Stallone's demo was tough. The band received a copy of the film's early scenes on a VHS tape with no music. So when they played the tape, Sylvester Stallone's dialogue actually bled through, giving the band an unintentional rhythm to write the iconic guitar riff against.

[00:44:30]And John Deacon's baseline from Another One Bites the Dust actually drove Frankie Sullivan and Jim Peter to get the rhythm of the song going.

[00:44:43]So, even though Another One Bites the Dust didn't happen, it still kind of inspired Frankie and Jim to create what they did with Eye of the Tiger.

[00:44:57]And it won the 1982 Grammy Award for best rock performance by a duo group with vocal.

[00:45:08]And the band Survivor, they've been through their ups and downs as well.

[00:45:13]The band's name happened from Jim Peter. He came up with the name Survivor after he and his bandmates just barely missed being booked on a fateful flight that ended in a tragic plane crash.

[00:45:33]And after Dave Bickler left in 1983 due to medical reasons, the band recruited Jimmy Jameson.

[00:45:41]And with Jameson in the lead, they released Vital Signs in 1984, which featured hits I can't hold back. Oh my gosh, love that song. And The Search is Over. Another great one. But I can't Hold Back. You know, we should talk about that. I'm going to talk about that song tomorrow. I don't care if I'm doing two Survivor songs in a row. That's a great song. I can't hold back.

And Eye of the Tiger was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and remains one of the most streamed and licensed 80s rock songs, appearing regularly in pop culture, TV, and sports arenas. Oh, yeah.
