Added:Welcome back to Wild TV on the hour. I'm Kalb in the V coming to you live from Israel with the top headlines coming out of this region and beyond. And here are the latest developments.
The United States has carried out an 11th consecutive night of air strikes against Iran as Washington continues its campaign to degrade Tehran's military capabilities. US Central Command says the latest strikes lasted 75 minutes.
CENTCOM assets targeted Iranian military operation centers, maritime capabilities, aircraft hangers, drone storage facilities, and military logistics infrastructure. This to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran, meanwhile, claims it has continued missile and drone attacks against US targets in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan while also targeting shipping in the Strait. Now, the US is reportedly considering proposals to step up the military campaign. President Donald Trump announced that the US will probably, pretty soon, strike Iran's heavily fortified Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site.
This amid reports that Tehran has moved thousands of uranium enrichment centrifuges into the underground complex.
>> We follow the material. That's where the action is. And we'll be hitting that area very, probably pretty soon. And there's not a not a thing they can do about it. You know, normally I wouldn't say that.
If I thought they could do something about it, I would never say that. But we'll be hitting that area pretty soon.
Uh and and very heavily.
>> Mr. President, >> President Trump made those comments while hosting the Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House, where Aoun declared that Lebanon is committed to ending hostilities with Israel forever and said his government is determined to disarm Hezbollah. Trump pledged continued US support for Lebanon and said he would be even be prepared to speak directly with Hezbollah if requested by the Lebanese government.
This is Washington pushes to implement its Israel-Lebanon security framework.
The meeting came as the first US-backed pilot security zone in South Lebanon faced an early test. The idea said it fired warning shots after Lebanese army troops crossed into an Israeli-held buffer zone outside of the agreed pilot area. The Lebanese force withdrew without casualties. For Israel, the talks are seen as a key test of whether Lebanese government can assert control in the South and prevent Hezbollah from reestablishing its military presence along the border. Trump said he would be willing to even speak with the Iran-backed terror movement if Aoun asked him to do so.
>> I would speak to Hezbollah, yeah. I speak to everybody. I'll speak to people that a lot of people think I shouldn't be speaking to and things work out.
>> Mr. President, Mr. President >> I would speak to I would say this, if the president wanted me to speak to Hezbollah, you know, he's lived with Hezbollah for a long time.
And [laughter] if the president wanted me to speak to Hezbollah, I would, you know.
>> I think, Mr. President, this would be your legacy.
Together, we'll be able to achieve this objective. It's about time for Lebanon and for the whole region uh to be stable and secure. And I know your vision is peace, your vision is stability, and I think my vision coincide with your vision. And together, I think we will be able to achieve and to score success in that regard.
>> I agree with that. I do agree with that.
You have tremendous spirit and you sell.
You have people that love that country.
And they're going [clears throat] to make it work.
>> We going to make it work.
>> Right. Thank you very much.
>> Mr. President >> Aoun also said about the current negotiations, the ultimate goal is to end the state of hostility between Lebanon and Israel once and for all.
Uh President Trump has reportedly approved a landmark civil nuclear cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia that would no longer require Riyadh to normalize relations with Israel as a condition for the deal. According to reports, the 30-year agreement could allow Saudi Arabia to enrich uranium on its own soil while giving US companies a major role in building the kingdom's civilian nuclear program. The plan is said to omit earlier requirements for enhanced IAEA agency inspections, raising concerns in Washington that it could spark a regional nuclear arms race. The agreement has not yet been formally announced, but reports say it could be unveiled as early as today.
