[00:00:00]for staying tuned to CN News8. I'm Pritsu Valia. Let's talk about the fresh video battle that has erupted over what happened in the national capital over the last two days. Delhi police say their investigation has uncovered multiple videos showing miscreants among protesters carrying swads attacking security personnel and attempting to breach barricades. Investigators are examining CCTV footage, mobile phone videos and social media posts. These mounting those mounting the protests those strongly reject the police version and they have released their own videos claiming excessive use of force by security personnel. One widely circulated clip in fact shows a police officer slapping a young girl prompting demands for an independent inquiries.

[00:00:42]That's how it's playing out. A war of versions at the moment. There's another bit of breaking news update coming in.

[00:00:47]The Supreme Court has refused to grant an urgent hearing on the petition seeking a probe into the alleged [music] police action against student protesters during the CJP le march in the national capital over the neat paper league controversy refusing to entertain the request for an urgent hearing. The CGI remarked and I caught don't waste our time and don't waste your time on court.

[00:01:08]Now CJP spokesperson Savvdas has reacted and he said such people in position of so much power are a blot on our democracy. He also says our Supreme Court deserves better. Uh justice Surya Kant must realize that so much arrogance was not good. So he's taken on the judiciary the top court and says the government of India must counel the CJI.

[00:01:32]This after the Supreme Court refused to grant an urgent hearing on the petition.

[00:01:37]a petition seeking probe into the alleged police action against student protesters in the national capital. Ana Bhagar joins us with more details. Ana, give us a sense of uh what was cited by the top court while refusing to entertain the request because lot of reactions coming in from the CJP taking note of the Supreme Court observation.

[00:01:58]>> Absolutely. In fact, the Supreme Court made these observations because there are certain procedural lapses as far as that particular petition is concerned and the chief justice of India completely going on to say uh very categorically that you know we do not we do not we want to waste our time on this particular petition because it has not been filed properly. He said that an appropriate petition should be filed in order to get the matter heard and that is exactly what the chief justice of India said while refusing to entertain this particular petition. November that this lawyer had actually filed a letter petition without a proper diary number and that is exactly why the CGI >> you know reacted in this particular manner as far as not hearing these petitions are concerned but at the same point of time in just next few minutes we'll get to see Delhi High Court hearing certain petitions with regard to the police brutality and the kind of escalation that took place after the CJP protest turned violent and we saw of charge and office happening. So clearly the high court would be taking a view but since there was no appropriate and proper petition before the top the country it completely said that you know please don't waste our time. We don't have time to watch videos until unless there is a proper petition.

Anvid as many as 10 FIS filed in total in different parts of the national capital across different police stations. Give us a sense of what the situation is looking like at Jantaar Mantar. What are protesters saying at the moment? CJP coming out with several allegations against the CGI calling him out. But at the moment this appears to be turning out into a larger narrative war.

[00:03:49]>> Yes. and see on ground the situation has gone probably beyond uh just asking for the resignation of Davin Puran yesterday following yesterday's uh violent protest when 10 FIRs have been registered and more FIRs are likely as more and more people will be identified who were leading the violent mocks uh causing vandalism and other crimes including rioting. We are at jantaar mantra. This is the center stage. As you can see many political uh supporters have also come here. You can see them on stage. Some of them are Samwadi party supporters. There are many other people who have joined in. Uh and DK also has taken the center stage. He was not here early morning.

[00:04:24]Now he's back. And this is the center stage. Beyond this lies these student associations and outfits who have been sitting here for the last 20 25 days. Uh this is the last barricade kit which uh from beyond which is the protest side and before this uh is the uh elaborate police arrangement. You can see uh this is the second layer of barricade and there goes uh there go three more layers of barricade beyond which there's the rapid action force deployed then armed commandos of Delhi police are deployed and you know multiple forces have been deployed special women's wing have also been deployed to control women protesters as we saw yesterday mobs went violent and while CJP has been you know maintaining a distance from those who resorted to vandalism and violence saying that these were outside elements antisocial elements who were there police are currently probing doing if this the the entire mob mob mobilization that was done whether it was uh a coordinated thing or it was just oneoff that the public it was general public you can see a group of protesters here that have come out uh raising slogans but uh they are not allowing media to go inside and they are not even you know speaking with the media but they have been saying since the beginning only reiterating three of their demands that they have been putting forward since the beginning but as far as the investigation is concerned Yesterday's violence 10 FIRs have been registered. Multiple people have been identified. Facial recognition cameras and CCTV cameras are being used to identify more people who were leading violent mobs as cases of rioting have been registered by Delhi police. One >> digital evidence is being scrutinized being gathered as we speak. And the one allegation coming in from the Delhi police's end is that the protest that was staged, the attempt that was made to march towards the parliament was not solely carried out by students protesters. that those were not the protesters who started their protest at Jantaar Mantar. But let's talk about the two versions at the moment and extremely contradictory in nature. The protesters remember claimed that they were uh killed protesters were killed in the Delhi protest that brutal action, brutal force was unleashed by the Delhi police personnel. And here's what the cops say.

[00:06:30]They say over 100 cops were injured in violence. And do remember the several visual visuals have also emerged of these police personnel undergoing treatment. The same applies to protesters as well. Remember protesters claim women protesters were manhandled.

[00:06:46]That entire visual of that woman allegedly being slapped by a Delhi police personnel has taken the internet by storm. And here's what cops say. They say stone pelting and vandalism took place by protesters. There's also visual evidence to support this. How vehicles were vandalized. protesters uh were also charging towards police personnel.
