This analysis masterfully bridges the gap between technical musicology and the visceral reality of psychological struggle. It transforms a raw emotional experience into a structured intellectual dialogue without losing the artist's original intensity.

Added:What's up guys? Welcome back to another music reaction vid. Today we are reacting to Ren.
His song Hi Ren. It's weird. Ren Hi Ren by Ren.
Um very popular artist. I have heard of him.
Uh someone in the comments >> [music] >> I would love to say your name, bro, but that is so unpronounceable.
Um K- Kuthagny.
Definitely [music] not saying that, right? Um Just so you guys know, supporters, people who donated, your videos are coming out. I promise you.
I'm just spacing them in between because I love you guys to death, but you all love Dan Vasc and I can't, you know, chain together like three straight videos of that.
>> [laughter] >> But trust me, I promise you they are coming and I love it, dude. I love the song request. I love Dan Vasc, so freak it. But just channel growth-wise, I can't put three videos straight of Dan Vasc. But trust me, guys, the videos are coming and much love. Much love. All right. Now let's get into this video.
>> [music] >> Hi Ren by Ren.
This is supposed to be really good. I've heard of it a lot. Also evidently this video has how many views?
69 million.
Good number. Good number. It's better than 67, so.
Let's roll.
It's got me hyped.
What in the world?
>> [music] >> Cool riff.
Looks like we've got a classical [music] guitars. All right.
>> [music] >> It's actually two guitars.
Ooh, triplets. [music] >> [music] [music] >> What the Wow, crazy control.
>> [music] >> Hi Ren, it's been a little while. Did you miss me? You thought you buried [music] me, didn't you? Risky, cuz I always come back. Deep down you know that. Deep down you know I'm always in pain when you're mean. Ren, I'm happy to see me. It's been weeks [music] since we spoke. Bro, I know you need me.
>> Oh, it's like a mental patient. Okay. I was like, what's with the weird freaky pig dude at the beginning? All right, that makes He's talking to himself. That makes Hi Ren.
That makes way more sense why it's called Hi Ren. Okay.
>> I'm a shepherd, not your place to lead me. Not your place to be biting off the hand that feeds me.
>> Hi Ren, I've been taking some time to be distant. I've been taking some time to be [music] still.
>> Oh, personal space.
>> by myself since my therapist told me I'm ill. And I've been making some progress lately, and I've learned some new coping skills. So, I haven't really needed you much, man. I think we [music] need to just step back and chill. Ren, you sound more insane than I do. You think that those doctors are really there to guide you? [music] >> That's cool. That's cool. Listen to the guitar. Listen to the guitar when he switches.
That's super cool.
>> therapist told me I'm ill. You heard it's called >> And I've [music] been making some progress lately, and I've learned some new coping skills. So, I haven't really needed you much, man. I think we should just step back and chill. Ran, you >> I >> [music] >> That's cool. That's cool.
>> [music] >> Nah, man.
>> [music] [music] >> Ah, lyrics. Lyrical genius over here. Some M&M.
>> [music] >> Yeah, but my music's not commercial like that. I never chase numbers, statistics, or stats. I never write hooks for the radio. They never [music] even play me, so why would I concern myself with that?
But, my music is really connecting. And the people who find it respect it. And for me, that's enough [music] cuz this life's been tough, so it gives me a purpose I can rest in.
>> Man, you sound so pretentious. Ran, your music is so self-centered. [music] No one wants to hear another song about how much you hate yourself. Trust me.
You should be so lucky having me inside [music] you to guide you, remind you to manage expectations, provide you perspective. That thing you neglected.
>> I get it. You want to be a big deal, next Jimi Hendrix. Forget it.
>> Man, it's not like that.
>> Man, it's just like that. I'm inside you, you [ __ ] >> No, it's not, man. You're wrong.
>> All of the swapping back and forth on the guitar. That's so cool.
All right, you have no idea how like musically smart that is. That's so cool.
>> Let me break the fourth wall by acknowledging this song. And then it goes >> [music] >> That's so good.
I was just talking about that.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Okay.
Really cool because I like the way that it was chromatic scale the entire time. It makes it kind of seem chaotic. Because if you guys don't know, it's not like really pleasant to the ears unless you're doing some fancy blues crap but like when you do that constant half step up all the way up it sounds really like chaotic and kind of messy not good which in this case makes sense it's cool dude it's cool that's really cool tritones [music] and stuff like that dude's smart man >> [music] >> and then back to that >> I've been taking some time [music] to be distant I've been taking some time to be still I've been taking some time to be by myself and I've spent half my life ill but just as sure as the tide starts turning >> [music] >> just as sure as the night has dawned just as sure as the rain falls soon runs dry when you're standing in eye of a storm I was made to be tested and twisted I was made to be broken [music] and beat I was made by his hand this is part of his plan I stand on my own two feet and you know me my will [music] is eternal and you know me you've met me before face to face with a beast I will rise from the east [music] and I'll settle on the ocean floor and I go by many names some people [music] know me as hope some people know me as the voice that you hear when you loosen [music] the noose on the rope and you know how I know that I'll prosper cuz I stand here beside you today I have stood [music] in the flames that cremated my brain and I didn't once flinch OR SHAKE SO COWER AT THE man I've become when I sing from the top of my lungs >> this guy has a voice too man >> I'll stand in your fire inspire that me to be strong [music] and when I am gone I will rise in the music that I left behind [music] ferocious persistent immortal like you we're a coin with a different side >> [music] [music] >> That's cool.
>> [music] >> Heck yeah. [music] Dude, vocal control is insane.
When I was 17 years old, I shouted out into an empty room, into a blank canvas that I would defeat the forces of evil.
And for the next 10 years of my life, I suffered the consequences with autoimmunity, illness, and psychosis.
As I got older, I realized there were no real winners and there were no real losers in psychological warfare, but there were victims and there were students.
It wasn't David versus Goliath. It was a pendulum, eternally swaying from the dark to the light.
The more intensely that the light shone, the darker the shadow it cast.
It was never really a battle for me to win. It was an eternal dance.
And like a dance, the more rigid I became, the harder it got. The more I cursed my clumsy footsteps, the more I struggled. So, I got older and I learned to relax and I learned to soften and that dance got easier.
It is this eternal dance that separates human beings from angels, from demons, from gods.
And I must not forget we must not forget that we are human beings.
>> Dang.
Okay.
I wow.
Yeah, uh musical genius over here. Uh dude, I want to There's so much I want to talk about. Uh the going back and forth between the personalities and having the guitar change up tempo and like even like the style playing, like how it goes from really quick and staccato on the, you know, crazy man.
And then just really slow finger style, like classical guitar, classical on [music] the concept. Like it's so cool.
That's really cool. And then like when it's all, you know, chaotic [music] and lights are flashing and it's going chromatic, it's all so cool. That's As a Hey, as a music >> [music] >> like big music guy over here, you know, music nerd one might say probably. I know music theory. I'm >> [music] >> I'm nerd.
Um really cool, dude. That's That's cool.
I wish I had the opportunity to make something like that. That's really That's nifty, man. That's cool.
Um Yeah, that's what I got to say about that. That was cool.
