‘Solid, heartland’ Midwesterners will not vote for a far-left socialist: Radio host

[00:00:00]Welcome. There's a lot of political news going around. Um, all right, Joe, you want to talk about Michigan. All right.

[00:00:08]Michigan could be the biggest race of the year, right? You think we don't even know if the Democrat, the socialist may or may not win the primary, and is going to have to face Mike Rogers, who's a very capable Republican. Now, is that what you're saying? That m Michigan is not like Manhattan. Okay. And the Democratic socialists are going to they have a much tougher time in a real state like Michigan that has, wait for it, workingass whites, workingclass blacks, workingclass Hispanics, not just uh, you know, uh, uh, overly educated white upper class socialists.

[00:00:47]>> Have I laid that? That's certainly [laughter] for sure.

[00:00:50]>> I think you did perfectly. You must have read my column in the Washington Examiner today. It's the ultimate national test lab. It was very good actually. Uh it's the ultimate national test lab, Larry, for socialism and the appetite for it outside of the far left.

[00:01:04]So a socialist to your point, Mandani may win in places like New York and we have a socialist mayor in Seattle. We have a socialist in Washington DC. But can they win in a state like Michigan, which if you look at the last three presidential elections has been razor close one way or the other. So the DSA, if they could win in these deep blue cities and they're very brazen about what they want to do to the country, then if they win in Michigan, then they'll say, "Okay, this is a national brand, and now we're going to put forth Alexandria Casiocortez as our nominee in 2028 because now this is what Americans want. This is what's going to give us swing states like Michigan." So again, what do these people want to do? They want to blow up institutions like the US Senate, which has existed for centuries.

[00:01:47]They want to blow up the presidency.

[00:01:48]don't want it to exist anymore. They just want a parliament like we see in Europe. They want to end prisons, open borders, citizenship for all legals, dismantle ICE, and they will try to end, and you're going to love this one because it was said on Martha's show, Macallum's last Friday, the head of uh the DSA said that all doubledigit gains on investments should be unconstitutional and not be allowed. So, yeah, if they want to run on that, if they could win in a state like Michigan, then I guess we're misreading this room completely. But if they can win in Michigan, watch out because this thing is very much for real and very much will be a big part of the 2028 conversation.

[00:02:23]>> And by the way, uh they're going to face a very talented Republican Mike Rogers who nearly beat the Democrat the last time in a state that Mr. Trump carried twice. So it's not like some upper westside precinct or lower east side precinct here uh in Manhattan. Anyway, uh Mark Simone, Susan Collins gonna win in Maine. Bolton, she's gonna win in Maine. And that probably right there stops the Democrats from taking the Senate.

[00:02:49]>> Absolutely. Uh Maine's got a big uh Democratic population. A lot of crazy liberals from Massachusetts moved up there, but uh she'll win. I'm from Michigan, by the way.

[00:03:03]>> Well, >> why the hell would you vote in Michigan?

[00:03:05]>> It's pretty easy. I guess you don't need an ID or anything, but >> uh >> I didn't say that.

[00:03:11]You can get elected in New York, California, not in Michigan. It is there's a little pocket of lefty crazy in Detroit area, but soon as you go through the rest of the state, it is solid heartland Midwestern people. And >> but Susie Collins going to win me.

[00:03:26]>> I mean, what's the name? Troy Jackson.

[00:03:28]Is that his name? He's a big lefty. He doesn't have the Nazi tattoo, but his positions are just as far out. Again, the Democratic socialists cannot attract working folks. That's their biggest problem. Ordinary work. I mean, you can talk about Maine lobstermen and all that fishermanmen. They're not gonna they're not going to be for all the crazy things that the DSA wants.

[00:03:48]>> No. And also, when it comes to Susan Collins, she's not exactly a Trumpster.

[00:03:52]She's opposed Trump on many things. Even voted to convict him in one of those impeachments. So, I don't know what the Democrats complaint is. She's a moderate and she's going to easily win.

[00:04:01]>> All right. U more in politics, Joe, more in the Senate races. Um, Darlene Graham, I want to talk for a moment because, sorry, she's thrown her hat into the Senate ring. Okay, she wants to stay.

[00:04:12]She's going to be a primary. Uh, she's running going to run against uh is it Ralph Norman uh a veteran in the House in South Carolina. Um, what do we know?

[00:04:24]I want to be I want to be sensitive here because of the, you know, great Lindsey Graham sister and so forth, but do we what are her positions she's going to have to lay out? We don't necessarily know her positions, particularly on domestic and economic items.

[00:04:42]>> She's mainly a name brand candidate at this point, Larry. As you know, it's so hard to get name brand recognition when you run for Senate or Congress. Now, obviously, she has that. So, Lindsey Graham has won many elections very easily over the last couple of election cycles. So, I would imagine in the end, she'll generally mirror what Lindseay stood for. And therefore, in a state like South Carolina, which is profoundly red and very hard for a Democrat to win, I think as long as she plays it safe and sticks to the grand brand, she should be okay. But I don't know her positions, to be honest with you, because she really hasn't talked about it.

[00:05:15]>> Yeah. I mean, I I I mean, I I'm not saying up or down. I'm not saying yes or no. I'm just saying we don't know. And I think we need to know. Uh look, Lindsey Graham, for my lights, was a whole lot better on foreign policy because I'm the Reagan wing of the party. um inter no isolationism for example. Uh but on other matters, taxes, spending, the border, the gang of eight kind of stuff that he put together, um I didn't really think he was any good at all.

[00:05:44]>> Yeah. You know, this is not a she's going to have a lot of help from President Trump and a very popular Governor McMaster, but this is not a guaranteed victory, right? Lindsey Graham was not he popular, but he wasn't that popular. He wasn't landslide popular. So, she's going to have a a bit of a a struggle and she's going to have to do a debate. I don't know if she has any experience at debating and uh it's not going to be that easy.

[00:06:05]>> Longtime New Yorker that you are, were you surprised in the paper this morning this flap uh between the Queensboro president? All right, Mr. Donovan Richards. I I don't know him, but I was very very interested what he had to say about the DSA and Mandami's crowd being white supremacists. And the backdrop for it, if I understand it, is the fact that Queens in particular, okay, but not just Queens, there's a lot of black home ownership going on now. They also own their own businesses and uh people like Donovan Richards, I've been reading up on him, have been pushing this for years and years and years. So, they don't trust the DSA. Why should they have to pay higher property taxes on the nice homes they own in Queens and or why should they have to pay higher taxes on the small businesses that they have built up? This is a fissure that I think is going to grow because African-Americans, uh, Hispanics, they're not really part of the DSA.

[00:07:08]People of color, the DSA is pretty much lily white.

[00:07:11]>> Yeah. And it's not just this Queen's bureau president. You got Van Jones, who's a very, very smart voice on CNN saying, "This has got to stop. This has got to end." And a lot of smart Democrats know that this may be trendy at the moment, but it's going to lead them off the cliff and they got to find a Bill Clinton before 2028 to come along and lead them back to the center. That's our only hope.

[00:07:34]>> See, Joe Ker, this is um the media doesn't write enough about this, but the Post broke the story today. I'm sure you saw it. And um the DSA is a very elite group, okay? Mostly white folks, welleducated, okay? Uh they're not salt of the earth. They're not working folks.

[00:07:53]Uh they didn't struggle to own their own homes. And what this um Donovan Richards has said, Mr. Richard, he's a barrel president been elected official for many years apparently. You know, you go through Queens, you've got a lot of lovely neighborhood homes, right?

[00:08:08]They're owned by minority groups. Why should they be taxed by a bunch of white lefty socialists?

[00:08:16]>> And not just taxed, Larry, but also the DSA platform. And Zor Mdani out of his own mouth once said that we need to perhaps abolish private home ownership because every person in this country has a right to a home regardless of their income. Now, think about that for a moment. seizing private property to take from the rich to give to those who may not have earned it. If they want to run on that platform outside of New York City, good luck. But even in New York City, there's going to be a backlash around this. The more you peel off the onion, the more rancid it is at this point. All I know is when you talk about the leading DSA guy, right, the the the national figure, the national face of the Democrat Socialist America, it's Bernie Sanders who goes to all these fight the oligarchy tour rallies and he flies on wonderful private jets. The hypocrisy is so thick and so pure, you could snort it.

[00:09:07]>> Yeah. Well, we're going to talk to Victor Davis Hansen later in the show about all these left-wing billionaires and so forth. But one last point, uh, New Yorker Mark Simone. Okay. Very important. Here we go again. If Mandami lifts a finger to try to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu, Mandami can go to jail.

[00:09:28]>> Tissson walked through it last night. A hammer and burst. US code 74. Wait. 22 US code 7423 18 US code 112 protection of foreign officials official guests. If you listen, he may already be guilty, but he can go to jail for a couple three years if he tries to uh uh boot out Netanyahu.

[00:09:50]>> Yeah. Also, if you read that law, there's another thing in there, but if you even threaten >> Yes.

[00:09:54]>> He can go to jail. Yes.

[00:09:55]>> Also, uh the police commissioner has absolutely no power to arrest anybody. I love the show Blueb Bloods. That's half the episodes where the mayor wants somebody arrested and can't get the police department to do it. We have a a great police commissioner, Jewish. She's certainly not going to arrest Netanyahu.

[00:10:11]So, there's no possibility of this. It's just stupid theatrics.

[00:10:15]>> Stupid theatrics. Um, you're right, by the way. He he may because of his threats, he may already be guilty under state and federal law, as it turns out.
