This video presents a critical analysis of how institutions respond to racially motivated violence, highlighting systemic failures in police accountability, media coverage, and legal sentencing. The case of Henry Nowak, an 18-year-old Sikh university student stabbed multiple times by Vikram Digwa, illustrates how initial police statements can misrepresent facts, how racial dynamics influence media coverage, and how the absence of racial motivation classification in legal proceedings can result in disproportionately lenient sentences (20 years instead of potential life imprisonment). The analysis emphasizes that such cases require thorough investigation and appropriate institutional responses to address racial violence effectively.

‘Take the L’: Critics blast David Lammy for brushing off anger over Henry Nowak
Added:According to the Sunday Times, the initial police statement implied that Henry Novak had assaulted Vikram Digwa.
So, this is what the report says. It was reported two men had been assaulted by an unknown man. Well, Amie, we know that Digwa murdered by stabbing Henry multiple times with a Sikh ceremonial knife before lying and and claiming that Henry had racially abused him. This is shocking. I don't even know if it's surprising anymore.
Can I get your reaction to this development?
>> Yeah, this this this is a story that yeah, you you spoke about it twice. Well, we should talk about it more than that, okay? This is an unbelievably horrific story that I don't think has gotten enough play to be totally honest.
It surely hasn't gotten any real mainstream play at all. We're talking about an 18-year-old university student who was stabbed multiple times by this this person and and the reason why I'm mentioning that he was Sikh and a brown person is because it plays in the entire narrative and the whole issue and problems with with this. You know, I know that in in in the US and other parts of the world that there's some kind of an attack, right? And the attack is a a black person who killed a white person, well, they go to great lengths not talk about the race of the person, but if it's a white person killing a black person, the first thing they say was a white person, you know, white on black violence. So, this is why I'm bringing up race otherwise.
Um the fact that the the the the the police went there and arrested this university student, handcuffed him, right? That's important for later in the story. Handcuffed him as he was bleeding to death from multiple stab wounds and he said to the police, "I'm begging you. I can't breathe." By the way, this mirrors George Floyd quite a bit, right? Um "I can't breathe. I've been stabbed." And they wouldn't even believe him. They didn't believe him.
>> Yeah, they said, "I don't think you have mate."
>> And Digwa, the this person was was put in jail, but by the way, he was they did not um arrest him for a racially motivated crime, which this was because he said he kept claiming to police that a white person attacked me. So, that makes it motivated by race. And because it was not the aggravating the aggravating issue of race, he is going to get out in 20 years, okay? And that if this was a racially motivated attack, which it was, he could have very well possibly not gotten out for life, which he shouldn't have. So, yeah. And by the way, he was never even handcuffed.
After he was arrested, and he was taken the other the the man who was stabbed, the 8-year-old kid was stabbed was handcuffed, but the person in the stabbing was not handcuffed. And when they took him down to the police station, they treated him so well. They took him to the not even to like they didn't hand him like a sandwich they normally do. They took him to the police kitchen and said, "You pick out the food you want." This whole thing is so horrific and just the story itself and all the follow-up that Yeah, it's not getting enough play.
