It was actually the parent that is how much is it 150 >> 150,000 >> yeah 15,000 per month that's their rent the father is not around even they did not have lunch honestly speaking >> these kids are hungry >> so well wishers let us come and support the mother let us come and support these kids they need to go back to school remember our young generations our tomorrow all fruits we are kids. So let us support them.
>> Uh she needs mother kits, uh bed sheets, clothes for a child and some money for delivery.

>> Hey sugar. Sugar, >> guys. Something I've realized actually.
There are no toilets. There are no bathrooms here.
So the guy the life brother is saying life is okay but he did not finish the course because life started becoming a challenge.
started becoming a problem to him. But he came back to the field. It's what he does. But he needs more capital. He needs to make his job smart and clean.
He needs to focus on the job.
>> Okay.
>> How long have you been doing this business?
>> This business 12 years now.
>> 12 years.
>> 12 years.
>> Does it give you money to take care of your family? Take care of you.
>> It gets money but it isn't enough for me to take care of.
>> It's not enough. So what do you want to help you with?
>> I would like to get like uh equipped tools which can make me do this job look smarter.
>> Okay. You want the job to look more smarter.
>> Yeah. Whereby we get this you know there are tools which we use >> I don't get them. I find I >> I do I do them with my hands like I need a drill.
So there are those Chinese saws which are electric now. So they make it easy for you.

You know, >> these are pancakes uh where you need to have yellow bananas with baking flour.
>> Yes.
>> Yes. So, one pancake is sold 100.
>> So, this is the mama selling them.
>> This is what >> kasabas.
As Saba sweet potatoes, >> this is deep fried popcorns.
>> Oh, wow.
>> Yeah. So, this is a small small business. You also sell tea?
>> Yes.
>> Okay. So, what is your monthly capital?
What is your capital day? How much do you earn?
>> Okay. Uh, so her savings a day is 1,500.
Then her capital is 8,000 a day. She saves 1,000 then the capital and the expenses that is 8,000. Yes, ma'am. So single mama.
>> Yes.
>> She's a single mother.
>> Yes.
>> She's a single mom with four children and one grandchild.
>> She rents She rents the house where she sleeps. How much is your rent?
>> Maybe 100,000 >> 10,000 sh that's the amount of her rent.
>> So am 5,000.
That's the amount of money she uses to buy charco.
So the baby is there.
>> Yeah. Okay.
Which challenges do you find here in the slums?
So friends remember most challenges in Islam we are having single mothers remember their husbands others might have passed away others might have abandoned away from them so the challenges they face as single mothers they need capital to start up their small businesses they have kids they need school fees for their children so they need money for the rent so those are the main challenges affecting them as ladies affecting them as single mothers Yes. So that's some of the challenges she's going through now. Yes, please.
>> All right.
>> Okay.
>> Oh, actually and she is 45 years old.
>> But she doesn't look her age.
>> You still look good.
>> She still looks good.
>> 45 years old.
>> 45 years old. That's her age.
>> Yeah. So those are some of the challenges single mothers face through Islam.
>> Uh most the single mothers are at a very rampant hill. There are very many single mothers in Islam.
>> Yeah. Thank you so much.
>> All right mama. Thank you so much. We shall be back.
>> Yeah guys if you can help out this lady.
She's a single mom as you can see that business she does it's not that big you know. Yeah. She wants like capital and also something to help the family. Life is good and we are in struggle of being having enough capital. Business is like running but capital is a problem. When we need give a support we can pursue our life.
>> Which business do you do?
>> I do pork joint. I sell pork again. I sell drinks, juice, beer, everything at once.
>> How long have you stayed here?
>> Here it is like now 3 months.
>> 3 months.

>> You're rich, huh?
>> You're the big boys. Where the main branch?
>> This is the main branch from the bank.
>> This one? Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> Okay. In a day you can get like how much this business?
>> This one a day can work like 11,000. Yeah. 100 100 like 3,000 because you still have few capital.
>> You still have So you're looking for capital >> to inject your business.
>> Oh, so if someone gives you capital, which business can you change to?
>> You have another business in mind that you can change.
>> They may not change.
>> They can keep on add to grow.
>> Oh, you want?
>> Yes. They add because they have no stress. They can maintain them.
>> Oh. You're being honest by the way because if I'm to change I have children around I keep them here workers I keep my baby at home >> at once.
>> How many kids do you have?
>> I have three.
>> Three. Yeah. They all go to school.
>> Yeah. Another one is in body.

>> Someone lives up here. Just like a flat.
>> You have a view.
>> Yeah.
>> He's not around.
You guys, this is a tricky situation.
>> Oh my goodness, guys. I'm even scared.
Me, I'm scared. I'm so scared, you guys.
>> But when you're here, you have a view of the swan.
>> Finally.
>> Oh my god, you guys. Finally.
My heart was >> okay.
>> Guys, this is a raw and unfiltered life here.
I have a good time.
This is already >> the is doing a job something here >> actually.
>> Yeah.
>> Yes. Last time they came here >> they cleaned with the people they took away the rubbish. Okay.
>> Rubbish was too much. Islam. You know what it means to sleep with your rubbish.
>> I know right. It was too much.
>> It was too much. Almost 3 months.
>> With your rubbish cannot get finished in recommended family.
>> So we have come to visit them since they're in a big need.
Hello. How are you?
>> Hello.
>> Hello. How are you?
>> How are you?
Yeah.
Family.
So uh >> our dear friends uh once again we meet the chairperson of chiman zone uh she has decided to bring us to one of the family that is having a lady with seven children. This lady is a resident of Budaka from Budaka to Katanglam.
So today the chairperson of the village decided to take us to this family uh as they going to share with us everything.
So feel free anyone who is going to watch this video try to put in your efforts and this and everything.
So the lady you're seeing there lost her husband with seven children and those children are the biological children for the father who passed away. So she has never had any child from outside. The children are the b children of the lady and the father who passed away.
So this lady has taken a lot of time, long time, but she goes through the LC, the local council of the chairperson seeking for support. But as the LOC as the local council they don't have a lot of support to support the lady with the children they do the little help of paying her rent but at times them as the LC they also fail to pay the rent for the lady she's a street vendor So she's a street vendor and remember our current government uh abandoned away this issue of street vending roadside vending. So when she was just on the road, she decided to remain alone with the children and when she comes from work, remember the KCCA Kala Capital Capital State Authority has this issue of taking out people's things. So when take they take away her things, they don't even refund her back anything like money.
So and there comes in some support.
There comes in a chance as you the friends Joel Oatton Oatan Harit Anavo as you have come to meet the chairperson of the village so on behalf of the LC and on the behalf of the lady she's trying trying to seek any kind of support if possible they can build for her in her residential place there in the village that will be a good job for them as the family because they are she's having seven children as per now and the feeding is also a main challenge to them.
>> She's the mother, she's the father for the children as you see them.
>> Okay. Can she say hi to the people?
>> Okay.
>> Can the kids say hi like your names and then you say hi?
>> My name is Nalan.
I'm with primary seven.
>> Are you still in school?

She's very happy for you people and she's believing. She's taking a step of faith in her belief God to do everything above her. Thank you so much. She's appreciating you. That's why what she was trying to mean. All right.
>> All right. You told me you want rice.
>> Okay. You go and eat lunch.

The father is not there. The father dropped them. And uh the lady has over seven children. Seven guys. You can imagine. She needs to feed them. They have to go to school.
