The Democratic Party's embrace of socialist ideology and inflammatory rhetoric has alienated white male working-class voters, who constitute 68% of the electorate and voted 68% for Trump in 2024, while 85% of Democratic socialists are white upper-middle-class young people, creating a fundamental disconnect between the party's base and working-class voters who the party failed to authentically represent.

Victor Davis Hanson: The Democratic Party CREATED this
Added:Hey, welcome back. Victor Davis Hanson over at the Institution senior fellow.
Victor, it's great to see you. So, I like your piece. We talked a little bit at the top of the show about the problem of working-class folks.
But, it's true. You were saying in your article, white male working-class voters deserted the Democratic Party. They're not They're not going to get them back.
Trump's proven that, I think. But, it's interesting, Victor. You know what? It's the African-American working folks. It's Hispanic working folks, too. And there was people that work with their hands people that build data centers. How about that for one? I got Hochul in New York wants to stop data centers. In Loudoun County, Virginia, it's the hottest thing going. It's like East Berlin up here and West Berlin down there. It's just like fracking.
Democrats don't like people that work with their hands, welders, electricians, carpenters. And then they're probably It's going to get worse, not better.
>> And people who work with their hands don't like Democratic socialists because they don't whether it's the cultural issues about trans or the open borders or illegal immigration amnesties, not much less the economic problems.
Larry, the Democratic Party created these people, 85% of which of the Democratic socialists are white and assumed to be upscale in terms of class, probably upper middle class, young people. But, when you had uh Chuck Schumer saying that the Supreme Court was going to They had sowed the wind, they were going to reap the whirlwind. And they were not going to know what hit it. Or Kamala Harris saying that the riots after uh George Floyd's death were going to go on, they should go on all the way to the election. You had Nancy Pelosi saying, "I don't know why people are not rioting or taking to the street The squad has said for years, any means necessary. And all that happened is these radicals took the Democratic Party rhetoric. They thought it was fashionable to say that Trump was a fascist, semi-fascist [snorts] Biden called him. but they took it seriously, these democratic socialists that had been spawned by the Democratic Party, and now they don't know what to do with them. But they took their cue, and they thought, "Well, these guys say it's okay, you know, to use this inflammatory nihilist rhetoric, so we're going to enact it, and we're going to follow it up with real stuff. We're going to go out in the street with eye against ice.
We're going to get Antifa involved.
We're going to do all the stuff that they talked about." And now they're panicking because they know that it's a losing it's a losing proposition, and the middle class 68% of um for 40% of the country are white uh working-class people without a college diploma. They went 68% for Trump in 2024.
>> Yeah. That tells you something.
>> they're not they're not they're not coming back. They can get all the ground platners they want, Larry. They can try to create a Tim Walz as a working-class person. They're always in search of a working-class uh artifact, but they're not they don't have any authentic politicians that represent that constituency.
>> And my favorite's now, you noted this in your article. I love these left-wing socialist billionaires, okay?
Billionaires. They It's You got You have to Only in America, I guess. Maybe not.
It's just a a good socialist, you own the means of production, except not me.
I can have my couple billion and my private airplane.
>> Well, Larry, how about Haakon Pyker?
He's addressing the socialist with a mouse suit on, the greatest mass murderer in history. And he and he owns a Porsche Targa. Ro Khanna saying that Ro Khanna saying these people are they've got good ideas, and his wife's driving a $200,000 Range Rover, and he's a multimillionaire. It's all it's all theater, performance art, you know.
>> Uh we're tight today, uh Victor. We wanted you in the top of the show. We'll do We'll do a longer riff before. I understand. It's okay. Just seeing you and hearing you and talking to you is wonderful stuff. Victor Davis Hanson, we appreciate you very, very much. You bet you. All right, folks, coming up, you know what? Have a little fun here. The World Cup boosted the American economy, all right? By a cool $20 billion.
