The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in 2024 over alleged war crimes during the Gaza war, including the killing of over 73,000 people, targeting of hospitals, and blocking humanitarian aid. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani called on the U.S. government to arrest Netanyahu, stating his administration lacks legal authority but the federal government does. However, U.S. President Donald Trump stated Netanyahu would not be arrested while in the United States, and legal experts noted that local authorities face significant legal hurdles in detaining foreign leaders due to diplomatic protections and the U.S. not being a party to the Rome Statute that established the ICC.

'Netanyahu not welcome in NYC...': Mamdani calls on US govt to arrest Israeli Prime Minister
Added:Benjamin Netanyahu is a war.
>> New York City Mayor Zoran Mdani called on the US government to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a video released on Tuesday, July 21st.

>> Mamani said his administration does not have the legal authority to enforce the warrant or arrest Netanyahu.
>> The federal government however does and I call on them to join the IC and execute this warrant. He said >> for the bombs that do the killing.
Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal, the architect of a horrific genocide against the Palestinian people. He is responsible for the killing of more than 73,000 people, for the maming of tens of thousands of children as those who survive undergo amputation without anesthesia. For the targeting of neonatal hospitals and maternity care centers, denying newborns even the chance to live. For the countless people he starved as he blocked food and humanitarian aid from reaching them. for the gunning down of hundreds of aid workers and journalists. And just last month, the UN confirmed that Palestinian children continue to be deliberately targeted and killed by Israeli armed forces more than 8 months after the so-called ceasefire. The list goes on and on, all as we as Americans pay for the bombs that do the killing. There is a reason the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for his arrest.
As human beings, we have spent generations building a shared understanding that there are crimes so grave they offend all of humanity.
Anyone with their eyes, with their heart, with their conscience should recognize the devastation he has wrought and understand that he belongs before a court [music] of law. As I've said, I agree with the ICC that Benjamin Netanyahu should be arrested and tried for his crimes, as I do for anyone else charged by the ICC. My administration has reviewed every avenue available under applicable law to determine whether New York City could execute the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant if Benjamin Netanyahu came here.
[music] It is clear that we do not have the independent legal authority to enforce this warrant. The federal government, however, does and I call on them to join the ICC and execute this warrant. And I want to be equally clear.
Benjamin Netanyahu is not welcome in New York City, nor is any other war criminal at large. While we cannot end the genocide on our own, we can decide whether our silence will become another weapon and we can examine every tool we have to defend the humanity and dignity of all people. That is my commitment to you.
>> We've had a very effective relationship.
Without us, without the United States, there would be no Israel.
Without me, there would be no Israel because no other president was willing to do what I did.
I've had a great relationship with BB, but now BB has to uh be more responsible with respect to Lebanon.
>> US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu will not [music] be arrested when he visits the United States after New York City Mayor Zoran Mamani said he [music] was still considering the move.
Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested in any [music] way, shape, or form while in the United States of America," Trump wrote in a social media [music] post that did not refer to the mayor's comments.
Trump did not mention Mamanu in his truth social post, but credited Israel with [music] helping in the war against Iran.
Netanyahu continues to reject the ICC's allegations, while Israel disputes [music] the court's jurisdiction over the matter. His remarks immediately triggered a sharp response from Israel's UN ambassador Danny Dan, who accused the mayor of targeting Israel instead of addressing [music] problems in New York.
Dan insisted that Netanyahu will attend the UN General Assembly as planned and even suggested that if anyone should be arrested, it should be Mamani himself.
US Ambassador [music] to the United Nations Mike Waltz also dismissed Mayor Mamdani's suggestion [music] that Israeli Prime Minister could be arrested during the upcoming UN General Assembly, saying the United States [music] is not a party to Rome statute that established the International Criminal Court. Legal experts have likewise said that any attempt by New York City [music] authorities to detain Netanyahu would face significant legal hurdles. US law and long-standing diplomatic protections generally [music] shield visiting foreign leaders from arrest by local authorities.
>> We may live in different continents, but there's a strong bond between us because we have one destiny. We know that freedom is never cheap. It must be continually purchased. It must be continually defended. America has been the greatest force for liberty the modern world has known. Israel is proud to stand beside her. Israel is proud to stand beside all of you because our alliance is built not only on shared interest. It's built on shared values.
Today those values are under attack. The tyrants we face chant death to America, death to Israel. They think freedom is weak. They think democracies are weak.
They're wrong about our two democracies.
Because when America and Israel stand together, freedom stands stronger.
Together we defend freedom. Together we defend our common civilization. Together with God's help, freedom will triumph over tyranny.
>> Mr. President, what are the expectations for Israel? Can this deal survive if Israel attacks Lebanon?
>> It can. And you know, I consider that the minor war. Iran's a big one, but we have that a little pin prick out there that constantly rears its head and that's Hezbollah.
And you know, I was very responsible for Syria and the man that's running Syria now is a person that I put there along with President Erdogan and some others.
He's done an amazing job of pulling it together. He's not a boy scout, but he's done an amazing job of put pulling it together. And he is very good with Hezbollah, does not like them. And I'll tell you what, Israel's fighting Hezbollah too long and too many people are being killed. And you don't have to knock down an apartment house every time you're looking for somebody because there are a lot of people in those apartment houses. And they're not all as that. I can tell you.
And I suggested to Israel to let Syria take care of Hezbollah because to be honest with you, I think they do a better job of doing it.
>> And I didn't like Syria. I didn't like where two hours before we're signing the agreement that there was an attack in Lebanon in Beirut. It was right. It wasn't like in the southern side and you know it was in Beirut. I did not like that. I let them know that I didn't like it. Not at all. But I think that Syria, you know, he's he's pulled that country together amazingly quickly. He's very capable and he's been very good for me. He's protected everything that I've asked for. He's done.
And if Israel can't do the job without killing everyone else, he'll do the job.
Syria will do the job.
>> Are you frustrated with Netanyahu, sir?
>> No. We had a great relationship.
Uh we're talking about uh some end details. I didn't like that he did an attack based on a you know there's a very minor little thing with some drones that were released and he ends up doing a very I saw that attack. I saw where that bomb went. Did you see what that was not that was a vicious that was too much. You know, you can do too much also, but we've had a very effective relationship.
Without us, without the United States, there would be no Israel.
Without me, there would be no Israel because no other president was willing to do what I did.
I've had a great relationship with BB, but now BB has to uh be more responsible with respect to Lebanon. Lebanon used to be a great country. It was a country where you had professors, doctors, lawyers.
The great intellect was in Lebanon. Now it's just it's terrible. I would say of all countries, they've been treated the worst and they can't defend themselves and they have Hezbollah, which is a problem for them. So, uh, no, I'm not happy with the way Israel has handled themselves with Lebanon and with Hezbollah. they should have been able to do the job faster. It it just goes on forever. And when that happens, it throws a negative light on the big deal. And that's the deal with Iran. So, so, [snorts] uh, when you ask me about BB, an unbelievable relationship, but Israel would have been blown up a long time ago had I not gotten involved.
Two things I did. I terminated the Iran nuclear deal. Barack Hussein Obama sold out Israel for Iran. He went to Iran. He sold them out. How anybody can vote for this guy or the party, the Democrats, I call them because they're dumb. They're dumb people.
That's number one. How anybody can vote for them. And the second was the B2 bombers just totally deser. So they had the right there. The JCOPI. I watch these politicians. I watched a Senator Reid that nobody ever heard of the other day. Well, this deal is the same as the deal Barack Obama. No, this deal is a wall to a nuclear weapon. His deal was a road to a nuclear weapon. My deal, they can't have a nuclear they get blown up.
If they have a nuclear weapon, they get blown up. In his deal, they were allowed to have a nuclear weapon. Uh if and in all fairness to BB BB I remember very well BB came to Washington and begged he begged Obama not to make that deal and Obama was on the side of Iran not Israel and he made the deal. That deal was a disaster. I terminated that deal and if I didn't terminate and and was very tough after the termination and if I didn't do that Howard knows better than anybody if I didn't terminate that deal I believe that uh they would have Israel wouldn't be here right now and the second one was what we did with respect to the uh nuclear dust as I call it right we blew it up the mountain collapsed on top it was you can't get to it and had they were two weeks away from having a nuclear weapon. And if they had a nuclear weapon, they would have used it on Israel and I hate to say it and probably the rest of the Middle East because they had all those missiles aimed at the Amir, at Saudi Arabia, at UE, at Kuwait, at Bahrain. I mean, the biggest surprise in this whole thing, I didn't think you guys I thought he would aim at Israel, but he didn't aim at Israel, much less.
He aimed at your countries and actually that was a mistake for them because it brought us these countries in particular the five countries it brought us I mean he even hit Turkey once >> I never understood it I ne nobody's going to understand it that's the problem they're totally irrational people and those people are now gone and I think Iran has rational leadership now >> is you wouldn't have If it weren't for the United States of America with me and because Obama was the opposite, uh, Israel would not exist right now. Israel would have been blown off the face of the earth 100%. And every smart person in Israel knows that.
