Malaysia MESSED UP as anti-Israel stunt went ALL WRONG

[00:00:00]Malaysia has scored a massive own goal because of their Israel phobia or their anti-Israel stunts. This is the biggest most shocking news in Malaysia and Singapore right now. I think maybe not Singapore because we got a bigger scandal that happened. Maybe I will do a video on it, maybe I will not. Uh but in Malaysia, this is the biggest news and it's a shocking shocking news. Malaysia has closed a company called the network school because of alleged Israeli link. So basically they they uh accused that this company or at least uh due to complaints that there this network school or this which is actually a co-l livingiving co-learning community for tech the tech startup or know people who are into tech AI and everything um they believe that there is Israeli people in this in this school maybe studying there or working Yeah, whatever the and this this network school is founded and invested by Balaji Serina Bazan uh which is a former Coinbase chief technology officer. So this this a major tech guy, you know, he's a major tech guy and they launched it in 2024. It was supposed to be a pop-up thing and then it and then it became something um become something permanent.

[00:01:37]However, the Malaysian Home Affairs Ministry uh on July 14, which is right around one week plus ago ordered a probe into the operation of this startup community after complaints or alleged uh allegations that there is Israeli nationals that is in this program uh using second passports from other countries and and they went into this serious investigation and asked this uh this uh this company or school to stop operations.

[00:02:11]Um [sighs and gasps] and then the school decided to continue because it's a business, right? They have to say that okay, we will continue. We will cooperate with the investigation and we'll continue.

[00:02:23]The irony is they can't find anything.

[00:02:27]They did not find any Israeli links or people in it.

[00:02:33]So they decided to find other problems with this company. They say that oh now it's because they did not follow business licenses. Uh no and uh and task their business license is revoked.

[00:02:46][snorts] Uh because they did not follow certain laws like uh they use certain offices for purposes that is not granted to them. So uh so it originally was about the Israeli thing, right? No. And then uh the main reason about Israeli problem is that Malaysia do not recognize Israel.

[00:03:06]So Israeli passports and Israelis actually cannot enter Malaysia. So they so that is that's just a pre uh pre the premise around this Israeli thingy. So so they cannot find any travel document violations like this is very important.

[00:03:24]They did not find anything. So they decided to say that they bridge licensing conditions and premise usage requirements and they serve them two notices and uh and then they the network school is going to have a remedial period for both issues but apparently like is imagine this article is on the 16th so the on the on the 21st and and then immediately there's only one week they give them time but no the whole is now shut down. So the forest city campus of the network school is now ordered to close.

[00:04:02]So much for giving them time and uh and then and all the members of this tech startup community have decided to go home uh including people going back to Russia um know going back to Moscow.

[00:04:16]There are people from all around the world and it is insane. I tell you why is this so insane. uh it's not just about the Israeli links which is they cannot verify at all [snorts] is that they have made this such a huge thing no they they make this into a not just a national news it became a international news of this accusation they want to make no they were so confident that they're going to find Israelis in the school they're going to find the Israelis uh members know or uh or the people who are students This is actually not a proper school. This is not a real school. This is actually a tech startup or tech community thingy. You go there, you you pay money every month. You get to stay there, you get to eat, you get a gym, you get to know learn stuff together.

[00:05:08]It's a community. It's a lifestyle. It's actually a lifestyle business. It's not a school. It just happened to call a school. And [snorts] they they are so confident they're going to find Israelis there.

[00:05:22]They make a big noise. No, because they want to virtual signal. No, Malaysia love to virtual signal regarding Israel Palestine issue. No, they love to do that because it caters to their base to their base know of due to politics and what not. But they were shocked that they cannot find a single Israeli which was a surprise to them. Uh and and then of course know because the now they have stick everything they have to make [ __ ] up and just shut it down so that the people can stop talking about it and yeah they shut it down.

[00:05:59]The the for those that living in Malaysia and Singapore would fully understand what the hell is Forest City.

[00:06:05]Forest city is actually know this Singapore right? this Singapore. This is Jaw and Joharu is the capital for Jaw, the state of Jaw in Malaysia. So Malaysia is no this is West Malaysia.

[00:06:17]This is East Malaysia and and basically forest city is this development here.

[00:06:25]This development oh this treaty is doesn't work here. This development uh is a China development. So the Chinese has reclaimed this place. They is basically like an island. They reclaimed this place. This this island built a major development here. Actually this what this this development is not even completed yet. The whole plan is much bigger than this. There's still a lot of grounds that is totally unbuilt. And they they and they basically ported the entire Chinese model uh into Malaysia.

[00:07:00]So they built this massive massive uh development, a lot of condominiums, a lot of houses and they and they built everything in they call it a forest city because it's supposed to act like a self- sustaining city of salt. It failed. It felt exactly like how Chinese development failed in China where they built way too much, not enough people buying and is now a ghost city. It's a ghost town.

[00:07:28]Basically, this is a this is a ghost town. There's very very few people there. [snorts] Uh the the the the shops, a lot of this is not open. Very few people is there. The beaches you can go is still quite decent. Uh no is decentish. No, the this area of Malaysia don't have very good uh sea because of the major uh major shipping route in this sector. So no, this this this is uh just like Singapore. know we don't have very good beaches compared to let's say you know in in Philippines or other parts of Malaysia or in Thailand. So but it's important to note the context that this is a ghost town like this is a this is a failure of a development and and you know people who buy houses here they can never flip it. They cannot sell it.

[00:08:14]Nobody wants to buy it. That is the the the situation with this which is why the the network school decided to do it here. You can see the network school is here the because when because here means that they are able to get cheap housing for it members know in this uh tech community trip houses or cheap rental and it can also bring life to this day town and this if you read at the article um uh in this article the let me let me scroll through because I just now I went through this article So American teacher uh an American teacher at an international school in the in the township not affiliated with the network school he just simply lived there said that the startup's arrival has injected new life into an area long associated with empty apartments and quiet streets they gave Forest City a breath of fresh air and then the place has been deserted before they came but at least there was some uh but at least there was a a more vibrant community and yeah this is the shocking thing that you have someone that want to bring so this is you know they put the red paper to say that the place is closed but you know is it's a shocking thing that someone wanted to invest and make a dead town viable and they destroyed it because they want to virtual signal and and because they lost faith because they cannot find a single Israeli person to know p no put it up as a poster boy or girl for you know breaking you know the law you know they want to pin down some Israelis some some Jewish person then then give the middle finger to Israel they can't they failed and the the the and then they just cover it up and said oh you see they break their laws and just close it thing is Malaysia is not a very non-corrupt country there there are some corruptions in Malaysia and this sort of things is honestly you know like know misuse of premise like they would be so grateful that there's even any business in this place. So this is why clearly any Malaysian and Singaporean will fully understand what the hell is this about?

[00:10:32]No, like there's definitely nothing to do with the the premise is used in the wrong way or anyway. They just want to destroy it and because they have really like no [ __ ] it up. No. And and as a result uh this Balaji guy uh the the Balaji Surin Vasan the network school founder has put on hold a$100 million [snorts] US dollar investment. So 160 million here is Singapore dollars. So it's around hundred million US dollars.

[00:11:06]they he originally want to put hund00 million dollars into Malaysia [snorts] in a country that is know have have not been very uh has needed more investment foreign investment and they decided that yeah we don't want this.

[00:11:24]So the the the this tech founder decided that no uh this is going to put on hold.

[00:11:29]He made a uh he and he uh he said that this the company will not proceed without assurance by the Malaysian government that this thing will not happen again.

[00:11:40]any guy, any same person is going to do the same thing because it's how can you invest millions and on this in this case hundreds of millions of dollars in a country where they they will just for no reason shut down or make up some reason to shut down your your entire company and there goes all your investment the and then he he and then he seek a meeting with the prime minister of Malaysia to discuss theou to make sure that this cannot happen again to him and to his investment. But up to that point until Malaysia can make such a assurance they were not going to invest any more money in Malaysia and and they decided to open another one but this time not in Kazakhstan as far as I am concerned.

[00:12:25]This is this has a serious serious impact on Malaysia's reputation. Like I'm not even joking. There's nothing to do with Israel here because they just [ __ ] it up on themselves. They make they think that they have something know they can make make things up and you know because this is an internal politic problem with Malaysia know as all muslim countries are know Israel Palestine is a is their favorite topic you know to to stir up uh support for their own parties so know it's always good to trash on Israel but when they make this thing and they they literally just destroyed the image of Malaysia now the the chill ing the chilling effect is that no more investors is going to come to Malaysia as there is no guarantee that their business will not be shut off with madeup excuses and and this comes at the time at the exact time where Malaysia is trying to expand their economic zone in Johaw uh which is over you know basically in the this southern part of Malaysia.

[00:13:34]they're trying to expand and you know increase this or bring in more investment into their special economic zone particularly from Singaporeans and whatnot. But these kind of actions that Malaysia have taken basically this basically you know has convinced investors that this is a terrible place to invest money in [snorts] the tech network school based on what I've read is a fantastic idea. If I have known known of these things, I I I I might think that, you know, it's a good idea for me to even go and [snorts] experience one month or two, you know, because it's not that super expensive and, you know, it sounds fun and I think maybe I can learn something. But now is it's gone. No, the tech the tech scene in Malaysia is going to be dead [laughter] because no one no one outside of Malaysia is going to come into Malaysia to do tech anymore. like it's so scary, right?

[00:14:33]Um and the the ones that will still invest in it will be people who have no choice but maybe like they they're in Malay uh in Singapore and then they really have need to have a lower cost warehouse or something or cheaper workers. No. Yeah, maybe they will still try Malaysia and whatn not. But you know this is a horrible horrible visuals. No, like this is just terrible visuals. So this is the Bal Balaji Serin Serasan. So this is the guy and like yeah he's American is highprofile tech guy and so what the hell man like seriously and you know everyone is leaving like know all all the people uh is has live has left know according to Balaji on his ex he say that he's he has aou with a central Asian country which is I think Kazakhstan and uh which will he will build a campus there which means he's going to dump money into another country which Malaysia would have already gotten it as this place Forest City is very close to Singapore. I I mean it's is close but it's not it's not super super uh it still take maybe 2 hours to come to Singapore because you know have to go through customs and whatnot but it's near to Singapore is that's an attractive part and and yeah it's gone.
