Ottawa prioritizes global CO2 emissions over hungry Canadians. Why?

[00:00:00]This is it. This is it right here. And this is this is alarming. This is absolutely alarming. We've talked about this many times on this show. Canada facing a hunger crisis. The nation is rich as Canada. Literally facing a hung hunger crisis. There's so many like you got to spend a little bit of time. Some of the some of the sentences in here or some of the This is from Holly Blackbox.

[00:00:19]The cost of living now is a critical issue. And that's from the Department of Agriculture. A briefing note. New federal data yesterday showed the rising price of food continues to outpace outpace general inflation since 2024.

[00:00:32]I can guarantee CBC is not running this story today, but this is the story.

[00:00:37]Affordability remains a critical issue for Canadians with food prices rising faster than overall inflation for the 21st consecutive month.

[00:00:47]21 months in a row.

[00:00:49]21 months in a row. Stats Canada yesterday updated its CPI and said grocery prices for the month of June rose 3.9 year-over-year. The general inflation rate was 2.8. Grocery inflation running hotter than general inflation in Canada. The agriculture department acknowledged that food bank data in can indicating users who rely on charity to eat are no longer exclusively unemployed.

[00:01:11]That's huge. That's huge right there.

[00:01:14]About 40% of the households using food banks rely on social assistance as their main source of income. However, the share of households who rely on employment income has risen since the pandemic.

[00:01:25]This is the big one.

[00:01:28]One quarter of Canadians, one quarter, 25% of Canadians, 25% of Canadians, 10 million Canadians, 10 million Canadians in a nation as rich as Canada living in are living food insecure in their households. There's children going without enough food. figure drawn from Canadian income surveys that I mean in a nation so rich and for 11 years we've suppressed our natural wealth. We've suppressed it. We continue to suppress it and and instead of like saying let's build these pipelines, let's get our let's get our product. Right now we're in a big trade war we're going to talk about in a second. And we've done nothing to diversifi meaningfully meaningfully diversify our trade because our biggest trade export is what?

[00:02:17]Energy. And what have we done meaningfully to do that? Created a taxation scheme. A taxation scheme and so many hurdles that we're likely never going to get that pipeline built. Not with this government. It's just stall tactics, performative politics, rhetoric, nonsense. And again, meanwhile, more and more Canadians join the critical list and going without the Liberals and the and the bureaucrats and the NDP and that stand there and tell you nonsense.

[00:02:51]And then the bureaucrats just living high off the hog. We're going to show you some of that later, too. You know, the Farm Credit Corporation lady there with 500,000 expenses. Dr. Nma Meaner there with first class tickets. Carney with million-dollar car uh catering bills while 10 million Canadians go hungry.

[00:03:11]And they call this success. Mark Carney stood there and said affordability has never been so good in a decade.

[00:03:22]>> Yeah. I mean, forget all the other indicators. Forget GDP. What's the point of talking about GDP if if this is the reality on the ground in this country? What statistic is more important than this? What can you respond with if if somebody brings up this statistic and you're in a position of power? What's your response to this? Is it we've added more jobs than the United States over the last 18 months or whatever it is keeps saying? Is it we have the second strongest fiscal position in the G7? What what's the response to this? What is an adequate response to we have failed to such an extent on a civilizational level that we can't even feed the population that lives in this gigantic country that has been famous throughout its history for producing lots of food. Pretty much the most famous thing about Canada. It's the role it played in the British Empire, etc., etc. this country of all countries. You know, we're not in Belgium. We're not in Luxembourg. Our our primary rival, Luxembourg, we're in the world's second largest country with an enormous amount of fertile soil in the prairies particularly.

[00:04:41]I mean, come on. What What seriously, what is your response to this? And I know Poly Ever's been banging the drum about food. He's kind of not he's not done it lately, but he he does bang that drum loud and often. And I've never once heard a response for a little bit. The a response was the uh grocery benefit, the GST benefit thing. Okay, that would get you that would get you what? Maybe a week's food or something for the average family, right? So, what's the real answer? Why are Canadians hungry? What are you going to do about it? And if you don't come up with a a plan that makes sense and you don't fix this, why are you there? Why are you in Ottawa? Why do you inhabit these buildings? Why do you have these job titles? Why do you have responsibility in this country if you can't even do this? Seriously, what is the point of you?

[00:05:32]>> This is the story in Canada right now.

[00:05:34]Like the rest of it's just performative politics. It matters, but this is the story. This is literally the story. 25% of Canadians food insecure. 25% of Canadians food insecure. Listen to this.

[00:05:45]And this is uh like last year the visits to the food banks in Toronto reached a record 4.1 million visits. For context, it took 28 years to get to a million visits. Two years to get to 2 million visits, and one year to get three million visits. And and now we're at 4.1 million visits. One in one in 10 Toronatonians in Canada's largest city.

[00:06:09]This is getting worse and worse every day. Every day it gets worse.

[00:06:16]And the one thing that could fix it, that could help is energy. because we know that energy is tied to everything and yet we still stand in the way of energy. We stand in the way with a with a carbon capture thing that benefits the few and benefits corporations like Brookfield.

[00:06:32]The one thing I think is most alarming is the highest growth rate right now is inidi individuals between 19 and 44 and that's said that's from Heatherington there 60% of them are postsecary education and 50% of them have full-time employment.

[00:06:49]They've done everything. They went to school. They got a job. And they're in food bank lineups.

[00:06:57]Do you think people want to go in food bank lineups? You think, you know, like that? That's And you could excuse it if we were in the desert in Sudan and there was like a 10-year drought and there's no the crops aren't growing and all kinds of things. We're in one of the richest resource nations. You listen to the the MPs, they'll tell you we are in one of the richest resource nations in the world.

[00:07:18]This is this is like negligence. This is absolute negligence. And um and the bad part is the the K economy we got going on here, the liberal elites and the Laurentian elite and the well-connected do extremely well. Well, 25% of the population goes hungry.

[00:07:39]How can you look a child in the eye and say, "Well, you know, we have to stand at the podium and sell CCUs, you know, because France, my friends said his mother said everything is good."

[00:07:52]>> My wife, she got a new bonus. There's no conflict.

[00:07:55]>> They're taking bonuses. They're taking bonuses while Canadians go hungry. Food banks in Canada 2025 report to the Commons Human Resource Resource Committee said more than a quarter of young adults surveyed 28% skip meals.

[00:08:07]28% of young adults said they skipped a meal due to lack of money. 20% had access food from a community organization at no cost. Nearly double the rate for the general population.

[00:08:19]Immigration at out on control rates, youth unemployment in some parts of Canada banging on door 20% and yet Tim Hortons and A&W and telecom still bang at the door of uh immigration and ask for cheap labor. We're going to show you some of that later. Stay tuned for that because we're going to show you all these employers that use it also break the rules and treat them like slave labor. Again, slave like cheap labor. Again, the benefit of the few at the expense of the many. So, they get cheap labor, make more money, and who pays for that?

[00:08:53]You. No access to health care, higher inflation, no jobs. You pay for it.

[00:09:05]I would say though you you cannot overstate the seriousness of this. This I would like to have a serious debate with somebody on the question of does this represent state failure.

[00:09:18]I'm inclined as as I think about it and look at it now to say yeah it does. This is state failure. This is the kind of thing we talk about where usually it's countries in Africa or something like that or the Middle East. We talk about failed states. This is this is like what what more evidence do you want?

[00:09:38]People can't even eat enough food. What is that if not state fairly? And yet you you mentioned CCUs, but let's just like think about hierarchy of priorities of the governing class in Canada. Where do you think this ranks really? And do you think it ranks above or below the carbon dioxide content in this on our planet's atmosphere?

[00:10:07]Where do you think it ranks? I would say it ranks well below that.

[00:10:11]You know, something that Canada can't change, can't do anything about.

[00:10:14]Canada's completely powerless. Nothing at all can be done about the CO2 content of the Earth's atmosphere by Canada.

[00:10:22]Canada can't do that. Canada can, however, theoretically, I think quite easily, could feed its relatively small population. I think that's doable. I think that's within their power. So why why is our political class more concerned about the CO2 content and methane content of the atmosphere of Earth than more than 25% of the population not having enough food?

[00:10:56]I just went and checked >> I just went and checked the cockroach network, I mean CBC to see if there was any stories on this, which should be the story of the century here for Canada.

[00:11:08]Like a nation as rich as Canada facing hunger crisis while the liberal elite and the Laurentian elite and the protected igopies in Canada feast on them. Feast on them.

[00:11:23]feast on them with bonuses and protected oligopies, widening credit spreads. This this is this is this is absolutely Venezuelan where the rich and the elite do extremely well and the rest of the population can suck it.

[00:11:42]And if you're not if you're not in yet, >> you may well be some stupid ideological country like North Korea. Obviously, they take it to ridiculous extremes.

[00:11:53]um the Soviet Union would would be another example, East Germany, you know, the Warsaw pack countries, these immensely stupid companies that uh countries that prioritized ideological ambitions over, you know, material um stability, material needs like food and shelter. And you know, you've talked about quite a lot, haven't you, the East Germany versus West Germany. There's quite a few examples around the world where you could do that. But that's what happens when you have a government that puts ideology ahead of real needs like feeding people. So if you put ideology like carbon capture and the CO2 content of the world's atmosphere above feeding the people in your country, this is what you get. This is the kind of failure that you get.

[00:13:37]like the Liberals, you know, they come up with plans, you know, 3030 and all these 2050 plans and all this stuff and CCUs is the biggest industry, which they've said in Europe is a taxation scheme. But in Canada, it's an industry.

[00:13:49]No, it's not an industry. It's a taxation scheme. Look who benefits. Look who pays. You pay while you go hungry.

[00:13:57]You pay while you go hungry. You continue to pay. You continue to pay with lost opportunity as well. And yet they ignore these polls.

[00:14:11]Mark Carney stands in the way. Mark Carney stands in the way so that he can benefit. Eevee stands in the way at least because he has ide ideological beliefs, right? Like, you know what?

[00:14:18]Maybe you can't fault him as much because maybe that's what he believes.

[00:14:21]Carney stands in the way because he's filling his pockets.

[00:14:26]That's different.

[00:14:29]Does Carney have values or is that just a cheap title? You read the book.

[00:14:37]>> Values that he's completely betrayed now that he's become prime minister, I think, is fair to say.

[00:14:43]>> I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. I mean, that's what the show is all about. Like, we're like, this is nonsense. This is absolute nonsense that you can allow 25% of the population in Canada go hungry in a nation so rich while the elite do extremely well. Well, they do extremely well. Well, businesses get choked off, including our own business has been choked off compared to what it was.
