GOP PANIC: Paxton Answers One Question Then Ends Press Conference

[00:00:00]What's going on everyone? Welcome back to the  show. So, we're going to take a look at the Texas Senate race. I want to talk a little bit about  Terico. We're going to talk about Paxton as well.

[00:00:07]I'm going to show you two different video clips  today. And one is going to be of Terico. And this is this was went viral. There was a woman that  was very upset at Terico in a town hall. And so, I want to show you that. We're going to talk a  little bit about that. But then I want to show you Paxton. He did a press conference. He was asked  a few questions that he did not want to answer.

[00:00:29]And I want to show you that as well because when  it comes to this race, this Senate race in Texas, how are these politicians going to address the  issues? Are they going to be out there? Are they going to make themselves available to talk to  constituents, to talk to reporters about their plan moving forward, or are we going to see  these Senate candidates running away from the issues and not wanting to address them head-on?  So, that's what I want to focus on in this video.

[00:01:26]I believe this is a church. And if we go back  to the primary, Torico versus uh Crockett, there was there was a lot of talk of Terico not  being able to get the black vote basically. And so this lady here is upset. It's a black lady.  She's upset with Torico and she wants him to answer questions and she's demanding uh that  that he respond. Now, what's unfortunate about this clip is they don't show the whole discussion,  but you at least see that Terico is saying, "Okay, look, I'm open to to have this discussion." And  so, let's go ahead and play the clip. Here we go.

[00:01:58]Stay here. You answer our question or you suffer  the consequences. I'm h I'm happy to engage. Um, we'll come to here in just a second. Um, I  appreciate you being here and I appreciate you traveling in and I appreciate you wonderful  and that's wonderful. I think that's wonderful and it's all right. It's all right. It's all  right. This is this is what this conversation is supposed to be about. Yeah. Okay. Now, and  and he went on with his with his response there and then he talked about other issues uh  that affect the black community. So he was out actually out there talking about this. Now I  want to compare this to Paxton. Paxton was also asked a few questions. He was doing a a press  conference. Uh this was a law enforcement press conference and then he was asked a few questions  and he didn't want to answer those questions. Let me show you that clip. I think we're going  to take a couple of questions. Questions.

[00:03:04]Jack, do you want to go first? Uh, General, I  wanted to give you a chance to respond to say Representative Taller Rico and his campaign.  They've made a lot about the reports that have come out. Uh, one in the New York Times about  you acquiring properties worth check. Can we keep this to law enforcement today? Well, I'm giving  you the opportunity to to answer that question.

[00:03:26]I'd like to if we're here with the sheriffs, I'd  like to keep today to law enforcement. So that's that's what I'm going to answer questions  about law enforcement. Okay. Grover, did you want to go? Will you answer a question about find  employment in Colin County? Cleared out. So we're just going to do questions on law enforcement  today because we're joined with 22 amazing law enforcement officers. You guys don't have any.  That's fine. I can move on. No, we I mean we can ask questions about this. What is I mean, you  went through a whole list of problems that you had with Taler Rico, and I mean, what is your main  takeaway for voters who are undecided? Right now, the polls are neck and neck. So, what is your main  message to the voters? Maybe some are undecided.

[00:04:12]What would you tell them? I would tell them that  there's a clear difference between the two of us. I've supported law enforcement. I've been I'  I've supported giving them the resources that they need, protecting them from from political attacks,  which there have been many over the last decade, and he's done everything to to take that away.  He's tried to take away funding. He's supported efforts with his own money to defund the police  in Austin. His voting record is abysmal as it relates to to law enforcement and protecting  our communities. He's done everything he can to hurt hurt the safety of our communities.  I've done everything I can to make sure that our communities are safer. We're gonna get out  here. Thank you guys. I have a question. Yeah, we're gonna get out of here. Can we not have more  than one person answer a question? What's your question? Um, we heard from Taller Rico today.  He's campaigning on It is He's campaigning on uh unaffordable child care. You're talking about  public safety. What should that say to voters?

[00:05:14]Is is public safety the priority over that other  issue? Do you have comments on that? I'd say they're both important. Just because we we focused  on public safety doesn't mean we don't care about other issues. Perfect. Thank you. Okay. So, there  was Ken Paxton talking about law enforcement and he didn't want to answer any other questions.  He just wanted to focus on law enforcement. And that's okay to do that. However, at some point,  he's going to be asked these questions and he's going to have to answer these questions or he's  going to have to try to figure out another way uh to to not answer the question. I hear that  they're talking about having a debate. At least Terico wanted uh to have a debate with Paxton.  Paxton has accepted. Terrio has challenged Paxton to three televised debates. Paxton says he will  debate Torico, but the two campaigns will have to work it out from there. And the debate, that last  part that they were talking about there, I'm very, you know, I'm going to be waiting to hear those  debates because I think and hopefully they'll have debate. I don't even know yet. I mean, they  pretty much Terico wants to have three debates and Paxton says that he's open to debating, but they  haven't set up anything yet. And so, this could be one of those things that we never hear anything  because understand Paxton hasn't debated in I think over 20 years. And so the likelihood  of Paxton actually debating, we might not, we might not ever see it. So Telerico, their  camp is going to really have to put pressure, more and more pressure on Paxton to debate. And  if Paxton does decide that he wants to debate, it might be just one debate. Now, if he loses  that debate, maybe there'll be more. It doesn't appear that Paxton is really eager to debate in  this uh race. And remember back in when he was running against Cornin in the primary, so you had  the primary and you had the runoff. We never saw a debate. And so that's also worth mentioning.  Now, Taler Rico and Crockett, they had a debate, but we didn't see one on the Republican side. And  so we'll just have to see how it plays out. But I just wanted to show you kind of the two sides.  You have Terorico on one side doing town halls where pretty much people can ask him any question,  and then you have Paxton doing these controlled uh press conferences. Will Paxton do a town  hall? I don't know. But I mean, if he doesn't, that's something that voters are going to look at  and say, "I don't know. You're not being open to us. You're not being available to us. You're not  out there answering our questions." And so, we'll just have to see how it goes in the future. But,  I just saw those two uh clips. I wanted to just show you uh because it it's kind of showing two  different sides of this campaign. So, I want to know what you guys think ultimately. Let me know  in the comments below.
