The video exposes the irony of "Full Self-Driving" when basic green lights and route planning still demand constant human intervention. It is a sobering reality check for those overestimating current AI capabilities in complex urban environments.

Long Tesla FSD drive in Denmark. Failed to start at a green and my route planning sucked.
Added:Hello guys.
So today I'm just going to go to a shop and buy some stuff and I'll take a nice detour to get there so we can try some different kinds of roads and uh maybe some different kind of scenery here in Denmark.
And it slows down very nicely for both the speed bumps.
And with these parked cars, it handles it very well. Um, giving them giving making plenty of room for the parked cars and also making space for the ones driving the other way.
in this intersection. I have had it um try to do a right turn on red a couple of times which is not allowed in Denmark, but this time luckily there are some car cars in front of us so I won't have to disengage.
There's a 50 km an hour um speed limit here, but it used to be 60. So, it pulls a 60 off the map data. It looks like not a big deal. It only chose to go like 54, which is not enough to get a citation.
The default speed limit in within towns in in Denmark is 50 km an hour. So, and there are no 60 signs anymore. So, it's 50 now.
If there would have been 50 signs, the car would have corrected it to 50. But because it's just the default speed, it has nothing to correct the old data.
I can man manually adjust the speed limit to now set it to the allowed 50 and then it will stick to that until it Needs another speed sign.
I've tried to set up some way points uh right by the road. So hopefully it'll just um continue onto the next waypoint, but we'll see. Otherwise, I'll just have to re-engage it or something.
did that very well. There was some bicycles coming up on the right, but they were quite far back.
And it took the left lane here nice and early. We I guess we have to do a left turn further up ahead. Extensive section.
We have our first waypoint coming out in 500 m.
Here we have the new um light rail system that has been built in Copenhagen.
Um we've had some issues with uh cars driving onto the tracks, but I think uh the Tesla should have no problems keeping to the to the road.
Yeah, that was perfectly fine.
It's quite funny doing these videos because I really want the car to do well, but also for the quality of the videos, it would be nice if something interesting happened.
And now it's at the um the set waypoint.
It's not allowed to stop here. So we just Oh, interrupt and move on.
Yeah, it's back on FSD.
was obviously looking for a place to park that was close to the waypoint I had set, which is pretty nice. I think next time we'll just remove the waypoint a bit before we get to it.
This sign here means we have to yield if there is oncoming traffic.
I think I'll just slow down a bit more for that giant bump.
And again, it clearly shows the bump on the on the screen. Did okay over it. Maybe a little bit too fast.
I think was way too far out to the left there.
kept a nice distance to the bicycle so you wouldn't feel too much pressure or anything.
As you could probably tell that the last intersection, uh, the the car, it's like when the green light turns on, it waits like half a second or something every time that starts going. And, um, most people don't do that. So, it's a bit slower off the line than most other cars, but it's not so slow that the cars behind honk or anything. I had at least I haven't had that happen yet.
As a human, I would have used um there was some smaller lights for the bicycle lane and when it changes uh to red um I know that though the main lights will change the second after. So I would have started breaking as soon as I saw the bicycle lights change or slow down at least.
But that's maybe only because I know the area very very well.
It's quite amazing to watch the representation on the screen how many cars the Tesla is actually keeping track of.
avoided the car. I had to press the accelerator here. I don't know why.
It's quite funny thinking about all the cars around us that um all the people driving the cars around us that are not aware of of the fact this is a robot driving right beside them.
Again, the car hesitated at the green light just just exact so much that I was considering pressing the accelerator.
There's a speed camera coming up ahead.
Very fine. The car is not driving too fast.
There we have it.
I think I'll try and remove the next waypoint and um see what the finger came over of course and see what the car does.
Should I start it again?
I was just about to step on the brake and continue to hit. It would have hit per, but it correctly stopped [snorts] and got it turned around in a pretty okay way. If it would have backed up just a little bit more in the beginning, it would have been able to do the um turn around in one go. I would have done that if I would start driving.
It was fine.
As you saw before, when I was trying to remove the uh waypoint, it very quickly gave me a nag.
So, I think the the nags for this version is set a bit too aggressively.
Uh earlier today, I had a drive where uh unfortunately I wasn't recording, but it it gave me a strike uh for not paying attention when I was very much paying attention.
I have no idea what triggered it.
I think the route planning here works very well because if we had taken the same way out that we came into this area, we would not have been allowed to do a left turn.
>> So, it correctly went up to this intersection instead.
At the first intersection, there was a central divide out on the major road.
There's another speed camera.
I'll remove the next waypoint.
I think I'll have to work a bit more on my um route planning skills because it seems to take a lot of strange detours when I add and remove way points.
I think the next way point I'll try and remove it a bit sooner.
There's only one more uh in between destination before end destination.
So sorry for this silly detour, guys.
[laughter] But as you saw before, I'm just going to the screen to remove a waypoint. Even though I tried to be quick about it, uh I still got a nag on the screen saying pay attention to the road.
So it's not many seconds that you have to do other things.
It's almost like you are supposed to stop the car at a safe place to to mess with with the route planning.
I was actually heading out in this area because I thought I had uh the car go down some of the 2 plus one road which we uh don't have a lot of in in the Copenhagen area but Um, my memory was off a bit, so we didn't hit that stretch of road I hope to do.
I'll just find it another time.
very smooth and um correct indicating as well from for leaving the roundabout.
I'm quite curious. We have quite a few roundabouts in Denmark where there are um where you have to enter in in more than one lane and um you have to pick the left lane if you want to take a later exit than the first one. But I don't we don't have any near to here.
But maybe I could go to Tosstop and try the big big roundabout at Vivat from a few angles. So, that's a silly roundabout with a lot of um traffic lights in inside the roundabout.
Let me know if you want to want me to go out and try that out or let me know if there are any other interesting places you would like me to try and go in the greater Copen area.
I'll try and see if I can make it take a right here instead to do that.
The car's right. Of course, the fastest way to to our destination is uh taking a left here.
If anybody is curious what the energy consumption has been on this trip, it's like um uh around 140 watts w hours per kilometer.
So, it's pretty much in the same ballpark as what I am used to with this style of driving.
I think it's keeping a very polite and very appropriate distance to the confront here.
I'll just change the map back to the direction.
It's quite strange right now. It's like almost twitchy with the wheel going a little bit back and forth.
I haven't really noticed that before.
It's not so much felt inside the car.
Looks a bit silly.
And this time I think I'll just disengage and uh do a little bit of manual driving.
Now we're back on FSD.
The problem is when you set a a route directly to the destination, it just takes the biggest and fastest roads to get there. And if you want to do something interesting, uh, and you need to put in some artificial waypoints or I think maybe I should put in some points where it's convenient to park and restart the drive or I don't know if it's better if I just disengage and remove it and then re-engage or what is best for you guys.
I think either way it's a bit clumsy, but it is what it is.
This intersection we're coming up to next should be quite interesting because the lanes are kind of crooked when they uh cross the the road that that we need to cross up here.
And also there's um we need to give way up here if there's anybody coming from behind.
Fortunately, it does not look like anybody is coming up from behind.
See if it chooses the right lane here.
And so far it looks very good. Then we need to enter the motorway up ahead, but we need to scoot a little to the left.
You can see the tire marks on the road where where the guys that that need to turn left normally dry.
So it should stay clear of those. Oh, we did that very well. Awesome.
Thought there was a 60 here. There's not.
Now to check back over.
I needed to help it with the accelerator there because it caught a 60 zone from somewhere.
Interesting.
There was a guy that had lost his left front wheel.
That's a good question. Where the wheel is Beautiful new Model 3 Highland in front of us in silver color. Looks good in the sun.
It was giving the pedestrian a white birth.
Yeah. It found out that it had has to go to the left soon. So, it went up around the bus lane this time.
There was a nitrous oxide. So, I bought what we have. Oh, it stopped me even though we still had a green uh green arrow. I don't know why it did that, but the arrow went away so I couldn't push it through.
That was very very good.
Didn't need to indicate there. We were just following the road, but it's fine.
It would be interesting to see if it could find a good parking spot. I have my doubts.
There's some bicycles coming up.
It does a very good job of keeping um keeping tracks of the cars um in the park that that are driving around.
Even when I thought they were occluded, I it it clearly showed the cars on the screen.
That was the first trip around the parking lot.
Luckily, I'm not in a hurry. So, I'll just give it a chance and see what it decides to do. Of course, we could be stuck in an infinite loop here.
And it did exactly the same as it did before.
Yeah. Okay. I ran out of patience now.
I'll just go park the car.
Well, that was it for today, guys. Hope you got to see something interesting at least.
