Complementing Public Transit With Ferries In Cities 1!
Added:Well, hello people and welcome back to part 42 of Illium, our un modded CS1 build. I hope you're having a wonderful day. A lot of fun last time out as we reaped the rewards from renovating redundant regional roads at the start of the city interchange. We'll be getting some really nice flow now as we introduce trams to the town of Francis.
And in today's episode, it's going to be a little bit different. Rather than working on a new development, we're going to be returning some old bits of infrastructure to add the neglected ferry systems into this side of the bay, connecting the currently non-existing industrial railard, the airport, the Formula 1 circuit, and new towns far to the east that are also yet to exist. So, join me as we create some very modular ferry hubs around a massive water space.
Well, happy Monday to you all, and welcome back to Illium, everyone.
So, we'll start our first little modular ferry hub today and over here by the Formula 1 circuit. Um, now for a road access here, don't really want a road with garbage trucks and whatnot going underneath. So, I'm going to do something what you could describe as perhaps a little bit cheeky. Create a tunnel. Um, we'll sort exactly how hideous that looks out in a second. Um, but this is going to run under the grand stands. One of which has actually burned down. We need to need to possibly fix that. I think reset, please. Wonderful.
Just ignore the burning grand stands.
It's all fine. Um, yeah, just to the land a little bit. I'll fix that in some sort of time lapse, I suppose. So, at least we know we can have the boats actually serviced over here. So, let's grab ourselves a ferry stop. Um, I'm going to put pretty much all of them directly out on the peninsulas here.
That's fine for me. Adjust the terrain to fit the width of the building. I'm almost happy for that terrain to actually just narrow it a little bit as the ferry stop kind of juts out into the water if you like here. Now, I think I will use pedestrianization purely cuz there's going to be well no cars over this side basically.
Um, come down here. That'll be too short a segment. So, we'll just adjust that. I can connect in. This can come down and then we'll integrate a way for this pathway to also connect onto it as well.
And but bearing in mind this pathway isn't like open to the public. It's obviously part of the circuit access here. So I actually wouldn't mind telling and we'll just grab props and buildings as well actually.
There we go. We'll just take that configuration.
Copy and paste it over here.
So, we'll just have right here. That's going to be perfect.
We'll steal some pedestrian area from the circuit and using anarchy, we'll just pull this through the middle. So, access something of an entrance. Little bit of node control over here. And I think even just almost like an expanded sort of information booth area here might be quite welcome. And we'll grab a small concrete tile. just match it with the shape of the building pretty much.
Yeah, that'll do nicely. Smaller one there in the corner. And because we've got a path here, we should actually be able to get away with an actual info booth, which will just push further down. So, we can actually have it out here. So, almost like, you know, people are arriving from the ferry and it's like, well, where do I go? Uh, can we give you your connection here? For some reason, he's asking for a park area when they normally sit quite happily in pedestrian areas. Um, so I'm just going to steal a little bit of Hickory Park because I don't actually want the um new park gate over here.
There we go. That'll fix it. We'll just have to push two little districts together there.
There we go. That'll get everyone to function so people can arrive from the ferry here and then they'll also get a bit of information as to which direction to head if they have a ticket and then we'll go over some fence in here. Of course, given the fact this isn't just a facility open to the public, you need a ticket to get in here.
Um, and to save nodes cuz this build took up quite an incredible amount to be honest, but possibly too much some would argue. Um, we'll just run some industrial fence of the sort of spiked variant to set out the front of it here. Right.
Wonderful.
There's even argument. I think you could possibly run another pathway to carry on down there.
But I can probably fill this space with some assets. I feel given the fact we have a nice little plaza area to work with. Do some doubled up plaza stuff.
We likely to widen the terrain a little bit here, I think.
We'll have one front and center and then another one here.
And then this space is full of expandable prop detailing for this whole area.
We'll take a service paint up solid.
We'll cut that off with a decal instead so it's not so janky. So, as we want to flush this area out, we can just search for our favored tables. So, I know these ones are right. Yeah. And then we can just grow out the plaza space using our pro pro assets.
And of course, because these are actual assets and people are going to come to them and sit on them in an effort of saving nodes, I think what I will do for kind of the coastal lining is probably do a rock wall as opposed to um ease here again just cuz I want to be somewhat node conscious.
be devastated if we ran out. But we do have the tools to fix it if we don't.
But I think it will have one single stretch of key. So it immediately contradicts what I just said. Something like that.
That's what I'm after. Our time of day is also moving forward as well. Let me stop that. Come back to a nice early morning. There we go. There's our people already coming. A lot of them are already walking.
But h let's go ahead and get the fairies functioning, shall we? So, I'm just going to briefly chuck down the other stops. We've we've also got um cruise liners available down here, too.
Do need to consider a major industrial port at some point, but I think it's likely to lie.
I mean, it it might even be here, you know. I might make this the major industrial port near the port of Francis and just have the port of Francis essentially be absolutely massive and consist of multiple rail yards, factories, major container port, which should be quite a nice opportunity or a visual at least from the race circuit here to see the port across the water.
My only hesitation with that is do I really want loads of cargo containers or cargo ships coming this far in? I feel like it would make sense for it to be more out this way maybe. I'm not sure. Let me know some thoughts from you guys on where the container port should go. But yeah, just brief tangent noticing those lines there. But so we can connect this ferry network up. Let's go ahead and add in a couple more stops. So we'll have one here.
Um, there will probably not be one down here to be honest, but there'll certainly be one here and definitely on these islands I think are justified. It's currently out of our tile boundary, but we can go ahead and open that up now. And then probably here as well.
There is an internal train line here. I would love to blend it into that actually which I think is something I'm going to do and that can form another little modular ferry hub for us and integrating with already existing transit lines which is only getting 80 a week. It's not the busiest stop down here. Quite a few people waiting for the bus though the hospital a big rush of inter city people I think isn't it wonderful.
Uh I see can the fairies get under here?
Yeah, they should be able to.
Um, so and then, oh yeah, one more to go. And then also one which I missed really during the airport build, but was secretly saving it for this one. Um, is going to be a airport ferry stop. I'm actually going to use the ferry pair here because I want the two ferry lines.
So I'll show you what I mean by this here.
So we'll come back and build this in a second. I really just want it for the connections right now.
And we will give this one a road, however, since this one is active. So, you just want to go straight down there for me. We can do something with this again. Car park extensions, other airport arrivals. Possibly have a bus pull off in here as well.
I know they can walk, but there are buses moving down here. So, do we want to actually pull one up into the ferry stop? I think we will.
It's going to give us nice walking integration, isn't it? Let's do a bus only road back to that junction. This isn't final build, obviously. Please bear with it, everyone.
Um, yeah, we'll do that there. And then we could we start another one. There's a couple of bus lines running here, isn't there?
How many have we got in the airport bus station now?
Four of them.
Okay. Well, we'll just do that. See how it performs. There's likely opportunity for more integration there.
So the current ferry network is transitioning. This is the harbor. So this one doesn't really count or the depot rather. So we're going straight across the river here in most instances.
So from this one here going to integrate that into the current line. So a ferry can transition from this area to that one.
It's a little bit janky there actually.
Isn't the way that connects?
Going to create a cross in there. It's actually going over it. It connects in here. So, just so we can come this way.
And then all of these new systems will connect as well. So, non-existent cargo harbor will connect in with the airport.
And then that will connect in with the Formula 1 circuit. And then this will come out into the straight to come directly under the bridge to meet with these two here.
So, these aren't going to be used for a little while. So, I just going to turn them off so the city doesn't pay upkeep toward them.
Likewise with this one as well. But the airport ones and the Formula 1 circuit, we can certainly get active today. So, we'll come back to the hub in Francis.
We'll start on the line here. This is going to shuttle back into Francis crossing the river as all the other ferry systems are currently doing.
And then the other harbor here, the other little port space is going to connect in with these.
Now, do I want to make it a full loop in this area so it completes all stops and harbors? I think I probably do purely for connectivity from the airport to the Formula 1 circuit. I think it's going to make a lot of sense, isn't it?
Yeah, I think I'm going to do that.
slightly different configuration to the rest of the ferry network, but I think the shape of the bay here and the attractions that the ferry is going to stop at kind of justify it. So, we'll see how that goes. Um, let's just go ahead and grab those ferry numbers. You know, the base game ferry is the highest capacity, so I can't really change it to be more. Um, the fairies. Oh, we got a full graveyard over here. Let's go ahead and fix this.
It's always this one in Francis that fills people dying around here. Yeah, but that the ferry networks still remain overwhelmingly popular and with direct connections into downtown now.
But I think it's going to get even worse given the fact it also now goes to the airport which is drawing a vast amount of inter city tourists. I think it's just going to depend which way into the city they prefer, whether they're going to take the airport metro into the center hub or they're going to start using the ferry networks.
It's very exciting, isn't it? There's something so wholesome about the the midame transit system just absolutely buzzing.
Really do enjoy it.
Great stuff. And do we have two stop spaces here? Yeah, there's two pairs here, isn't there? I was going to say there's maybe justification for the ferry going down to the airport, but I really don't think that's needed when the metro and the buses are both serving that direction. I think that'll probably be a bit overkill, but super. Here comes the fleet of fairies. Anyway, don't want to get off here, of course.
It'll be interesting to see if anyone again takes this route. Actually, you know what we might do just so we can possibly see this in action.
So, let's bring this road down. And we're going to run it parallel with the railard. Won't go all the way down and likely down this way as well. Possibly changing at some point. I imagine this will be a pretty key arterial road back into the port and Francis.
Um, and let's just draw this in. Very rudimentary just so we can see. I will turn it on, I suppose, since this one is actually connected. It's only the other two in the east that aren't.
And then we'll see if it draws any traffic at all. And we'll just use network multi tool to create a curve here.
Sweet. So, I'll just let all these fairies settle into the public transit simulation. Give it 10 minutes or so and just see if the Sims do actually start to pick them up as a way around to this bit of the city in particular around the F1 circuit I think is where we'll see the most benefit. But we'll see. But it just bring life to this massive body of water at least. So the ferry that runs back to Francis I'm going to downgrade because it's by far the quietest of them all I think because if they're going over here they're going to the downtown ferry hope to get further away rather than to the airport which I suppose makes sense. Um so let's bring that down to 40. But this one over here um which is going to the Formula 1 circuit is already proving to be quite popular with people also using the buses back into over here to the airport as well. We'll wait for boat to arrive to show examples of scrum.
Probably a really good shot for today's thumbnail here. Right.
Oh yes.
That's easily I think if I can line it up the best thumbnail of the series everyone. That's really what a perfect view. My word. There we go. Let's get the people on the boat as well.
Fantastic.
Yeah. So, boats indeed are actually backing up. Yeah.
Already filled on the capacity. Let's have a look at the line.
There's 112 here and 17 at the Formula 1 circuit.
Yeah. So, it looks like those fairies are filled with people wanting to come to the F1 circuit. Imagine that'll probably siphon a little bit of traffic out the train station here.
But this is still really busy anyway.
Sweet. Wonderful. Oh, there's another race on as well. Perfect. Happy on.
Perfect. I'm not sure if the race days kind of work the way the match days do.
So, when there's a race on, you get a big scurry of Sims or whether or not all these people are just coming for the attractions that are here. You know, either way, they're all late. They're all They're all missing the race.
Cool. Okay, let's go ahead and build our airport ferry hub up here.
I think we've got room to possibly include some uh more unique assets in this setup here.
Might even just go ahead and bring the road right alongside.
Just gives me a bit more room to place some buildings in here. So, I feel like some of the Japanese office stuff go quite nicely here. A bit of a backtoback motion.
I need to steal another bit of pedestrian area. Wonder if there's a fusing here.
Just splice that together there at the back.
There's a bit of a weird office aesthetic there, doesn't it? Slight angle off the road there, too.
Uh maybe something from Korea, I think, too. Possibly the entertainment agency.
And then maybe some plot buildings.
Currently, commercial is the highest in the rci, so we'll go with that.
I almost feel like cube of mid-century modern.
Might actually go quite nicely here. One thing I'm scar scared of is getting too tall than the terminals.
I don't want to upset the aviation police with two taller buildings near to the airport, which in in hindsight, by the way. I always love these builds cuz we get to spend time in old parts of the city. But uh yeah, just in hindsight, I love this airfield. really fun regional airport here.
Yes, I think I think this I think I want to go for a cube of this. There's um a lot of buildings actually around Sydney airport that look a lot like these these sorts of buildings. Bring the entertainment agency up into the corner.
And then with that, we should be able to double up to a size that we're happy with. Let's say about there. These back two will need some building spawn points work. We'll drag them to the corner.
And I try not to do this too often.
I do find it can start to hurt your simulation after a while if they're constantly having to run to a different point, especially in larger cities. I had a lot of problems with that ins.
Um, I need a pedestrian area, which we have this one down here. Again, just going to steal a small spot of it.
There we go.
None of those service points will be overloaded, so they should be okay.
And then service paint this in. And I bet we can have quite a nice time with some uh sort of plaza props here. I'm thinking something from the Railroads of Japan pack.
We have that larger one there.
One here.
We can draw lots of appropriate themed props with this as well.
use the two Japan packs in tandem with one another here.
I think it'd be nice to kind of walk through a little area there, wouldn't it? I've got some mild height discrepancy going on.
I'll just push down like that.
Yeah, just a little bit of signage there as you walk through and perhaps a little collection of workers kiosks over this way.
Okay, just general kind of edge of office entrance detailing. I suppose statue of Jerry Senior seems a little bit grand for this, doesn't it?
Maybe another kiosk will do. Right.
Now we can just have this little airport office plaza. Could feed pathways through here to make it walkable, but that's really not a necessary connection.
Sweet. The airport metro as well. Isn't that great? Brilliant stuff. Did that recovering rider ship? Cuz it did go a little bit quiet from here, didn't it?
Yeah, it has again still. I guess they did just get picked up, didn't they? I guess we'll wait and see if it fills up.
The monorail really picked up through here.
Just a lot of fun to watch, isn't it?
This part of the scene.
Loads of little stories.
Fantastic.
So, back over here by the train station.
Haven't really spoke about what's going to happen over here too much. I envision a road connection here, which we will begin to expand this infrastructure today. I'm not sure if I'm going to have builds down here. That's kind of a little bit of an awkward coastline. And because this is just kind of heading really down with the rail, I can possibly see a bridge here one day, which connects into a more rural sort of slip interchange here, more national road network infrastructure.
Um, so to prepare for that, we'll come down to four lane two-way highway here.
And we'll probably do a bit of a grade with this with network multi tool. It's going to do something along those sorts of lines. Okay. Is generally how I want this area to develop. A little bit of a fall away from civilization as we're heading into a much more rural kind of outer line valleys and much more mountainous terrain over here.
Cute fishing village perhaps down here one day. That sort of vibe. But back at the train station. Um, this is an asset that responds to having pathways out the back of it, which is something we're going to do. So, here at the back entrance essentially, let's give ourselves a paved decal. Let's do something like this. Perhaps we've got a very slight difference in terrain here.
Now, that the fairy terminal is actually a little too high. Okay. So, I might even bring this down further, which will really increase the difference between the height, but that's actually kind of what I want.
Of course, I've left unlimited money on from a previous live stream between the start and middle of this episode. So, join me next week, everyone, for another episode of me forgetting to turn on money again. as always, but I think a little retainable here, which some might argue is a bit of a waste of keys. But I think it's justified here since we're building a more kind of mini modular custom hub if you like. Now, if we're going to do this, that's fine. We can't really use the texture because the terrain is going to be tearing. But what we will do instead is upgrade to park life pathways here.
And I'm actually going to go for the propless variant because the benches look a little weird on this terrain here.
Do that. Um and then we'll pull out intersection marking tool. And I'll run through this again for anyone that doesn't know. Uh we can use prop in place of stairs. Um there's loads of different ones. I think some of the air vents work really good. So we have a look at this here. Um and then we'll get down into the ground.
Decrease the step quite a lot. If you excuse the pun, give us something like that. Uh maybe even a little less elevation. So something like that. And then copy that line.
We can have it up here. And then paste.
And then we'll have the visual of stairs. It's a little bit rudimentary, but there are actual stair props you can get on the workshop to do this. but within the constraints of official assets as I tend to play. Um, an air vent will do a fairly convincing job.
And then I think for the other one, let's soften this terrain out here.
Let's say just about there.
And then we'll have, I guess, something of a disabled ramp that allows people to transition from water to land almost, you know, amphibious kind of way, I suppose.
And then we'll just hook that in there.
Then a little bit of node controller.
We're just going to push blue out and a little bit of red as well. And then some railing. You could use Well, I actually wouldn't use prop fencing in this instance for a railing because the terrain is not flat. So, let's just go for some node. Again, this is very cheeky node use as opposed to um ease here. Again, just cuz I want to be somewhat nude conscious. be somewhat mood conscious.
>> I think it could be nice to get a bit more almost personable, I think, with some new areas. Right.
Little modular hubs are always fun to piece together.
Then I'm going to keep this going as well. As if the shoreline is just cut off from public safety here before the thick illiam highway side forest kind of densifies in the overgrowth if you like.
It's generally the vibe I want here. So, people are already using it. Good to see. I love to see if they use the ramp.
Actually, that' be a lot of fun.
But we will see if we can use some pavement here. I just want a bit of a change in the texture. So, if we grab some paved and we've got a touch of interesting terrain going on to the same height as the station. I think that's our issue really, isn't it?
Then we'll have some brief paved texture.
Something like that.
And rather than using more nodes, I'll use some prop fence in here.
Let's go ahead and use something we don't normally use. Change it up a little bit. Let's do some of the mid-century modern fencing perhaps.
Turn on our fence mode with the line tool. And just give that tile edge a more definitive boundary with the fence line here.
Isn't that great?
Don't think we've got any props to take inspiration from.
out here.
There's nothing on the station. We do have something across the street. I could uh simply just do that and put a little fountain here. A grill that maybe backs us onto the platform here.
Do a couple of these.
City park stuff will also work very tasty here too. And hot dog stand over here.
And then just a simple arrangement of your favorite bench. We'll do something we don't normally use. Maybe some of these mid-century modern tables might be quite cute.
Right. Now we dispersed. Imagine as people get up and off these things, they kind of shift around a little bit.
They're not in a perfect uniform pattern.
Or have some grander benches by the entrance.
and maybe a screen as well, which in this instance is football themed, but perhaps I can imagine that's sort of there to show train times, but currently it's showing an advert for a local match or something.
So, you know, people sat on the tables and benches out here. kind of sort of see the train times without having to go into the station is my thought process behind that particular prop and then add some favorite probably just the Illium forest is fine here really occasional tree to kind of bring it in and then we'll just let this kind of tape back over as we enter kind of the no man's wasteland between city and highway right interesting top perspective that isn't it? A lot of different things happening here. Got trains converging with active train lines into a hospital with a custom ferry stop behind it.
So, I really like that. That's an awful lot of fun. Um, I could bring the key up here, but I kind of like the way the land is just exposed. I'm just going to do a little wild hedge line too up to the top there. And probably on the reverse as well. Just kind of isolates that path a little bit more, doesn't it?
Let me bring that up to the edge there.
Oh, sweet. People are using the ramp as well. The person with the dog. Oh, as if the dog can't go down the stairs.
Isn't that amazing? I honestly really like that. Oh my god, that's so nice.
That might be my favorite bit of Illiam ever, everyone.
I don't think we we'll struggle to top that moment.
I love that. Unfortunately, she's not using the ferry. She's She's probably taking a car, is she? I imagine there's people parking on the coast of road which I don't mind but again a lot of this coast is subject to a lot of change we'll have some nice fun national network detailing down here as well at some point in the probably not too distant future and I actually forgot to hook this ferry line in didn't I so where are you going to fit into the chain yeah I don't want to send you here again I suppose it probably does make sense for Again, this is quite a different ferry network to the others. So, I think I might have this one actually end here. And then in this area here, I'll have a separate line running mirrored that just serves these three ferry terminals rather than heading all the way down the straight cuz moving people over this distance should really be done with the train lines, which it is happening over these distances.
So, I think that's what I want to do.
So, we're going to put these in here.
But they won't actually read that as a short stop, will they?
I suppose that's fine. I suppose I don't mind that. Yeah, I guess just do that.
That's fine. I actually don't even need that network there, do I?
Sorry. Yeah, that confused me that one.
Let's just review the ferry line information a little bit. None of them have been named. Terrible form from me.
I'm just going to name this one though as the the closed eastern loop. We'll change this to white. I imagine once civilization exists on this side around from the corporate system, these ferry lines might need to be adjusted in terms of capacity because they're probably going to get quite busy as a way back and two across without people using the interchange. But again, there is there's trains here to support this. So, it shouldn't get too gnarly.
He says with with the train station already too gnarly. You're okay. Why are you not clearing 400?
Yeah, it did empty out there, didn't it?
Was that just an intercity train? There I saw. Why are you guys backing up? You should have spread out by now. Holy smokes, everyone. Look at this.
It's happening. That is happening.
Quite literally 400 train loads of people. I wonder if we can fit more passengers um or higher capacity train models here for a true spectacle. Look at that. I have to make a short of this.
Oh yes, look at that. Waves of them.
Just a sea of tourists all coming to the Formula 1 circuit. I think these are by far the biggest tourist drawers. So, um, kind of a shout out of a tantalus for making them super busy because it really does make them feel like they are these massive attractions in the city when there's just people absolutely flooding in down the pedestrian roads to get in here, right?
Really look at that hu huge dense wave.
The hordes, the hordes are coming everyone. This is my final form. This is my final walking pond form here.
Williams race circuit. Brilliant. just a non-stop feed. Either way, before we polish off with some detailing, I want to come in and address these roads here, which I'm going to downgrade into single road here. I'm going to keep this running as a couplet for probably the same. I always I always do couplets, but it just so happens to be set up like this probably because I built it.
Um, but just kind of have this flow quite nicely around a few different areas. I think rather than it being a major developed overly landscape corporate system, it's more just sort of a collection of flowing fast networks if you like. I'm just going to use the parallel tool here to run this side to side. There we go.
That'll do. Clear up the forest here a little bit. So, of course, in the future, everyone um tune in for builds over this side of the map. I asked you for ideas a few episodes ago, but as always, you're always welcome. And then I'm also going to use the slope tool here as well from intersection to intersection just so we lose those nasty ridges that are around there on the roads which will settle into the terrain a little bit which can then just be off from there. I'm also just going to add some more flowy sort of connections here.
So, just some basic kind of flowy switch ramps here as people can move on and off the highway in a few different directions.
We'll see if they get some use. But that does allow me to also just prepare the road connections for these one like we did on the other side, which can for right now just come 90° out. And we'll also use that as an opportunity to add just a little curve road in here, which will adjust the node. So, we get this nice little kind of U-turn bend coming in here.
Might as well also upgrade just to that one there as well. There's a really nasty short segment in there. Did you see that? Definitely don't want that.
What we can do here as a fun little node trick um is a little bit of shifting. Um I suppose I'll keep this particular intersection final if I'm going to do it. Um but let's just shift over our red node here.
Um so it aligns that way. Maybe 4 m.
And then we'll do the same with the same shift over here again as well.
So 4 m. And then with the blue one, same shift 4 meters. And then with a little bit of IMT just to glue these together, we can just create these really nice little national lane turnoff roads here. Of course, if they are being a little bit silly here, just tell them to uh not go ahead. So the turning lane functions as it should, but can be a nice little node controller embellishment for some more important networks that you start to develop around the city, I think. A lot of fun.
But either way, let's move into a detail time lapse. Finish off the one by the F1 Plaza t with the rock walls. And I might also add a bit of few industrial evolution buildings around this just to almost tease us as to what's to come for what is going to be a pretty major industrial space. Maybe one of the biggest we're going to ever create if the container port is going to go here.
especially with the railard that also features and everything that's already there. And that'll be a lot of fun.
Otherwise, I'll do some Illium fairy stop detailing and then we'll be right back.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
when my but I wasn't I had But I wasn't born.
When I met you, I never Does it for I never but I wasn't born.
But I was alone when I All right, everyone. Let's have a little detail review, shall we? So, back at the Port of Francis. Still getting some really nice views here now where there's multiple ferry lines converging as another one arrives on the separate line. to collect only a small number of passengers. There's not too many people and running the distance from Francis to the airport. I think there's just simply better connections for them to take.
But yeah, this is the Francis stop here and then this is the side that's taking people to the F1 circuit. Um, this ferry was insanely backed up at one point. Um, in fact, even offering more than a thousand people um stood at the stop. It's since gone down.
I think that was the rush with that mad race day event we had on. Um it was currently going on. Yeah. Um we had a thousand people at the ferry stop uh when a race day hits. So I think clearly there's an enormous draw for tourists for the simulation to come to a race day circuit.
I'm not sure what draws them. Maybe it's the grand stands cuz they're always really busy. Um, so I think with so many grand stons in this quite large circuit, when the race day hits, these networks are getting insanely busy.
Over at this one, decided to isolate it with a little kind of peninsula set up, an old building to accompany the hub over here. Few people using it. And there's just a sewage pond here and a seafood factory with some expanded prop detailing and industrial evolution distribution warehouses behind it which have been fused onto the back of the factory which is quite a nice fusion I think here essentially just warehouses for distribution just a little bit of a taste of what's to come for this side as I imagine the major container port is probably going to lie on these shores here if not maybe here in orbit of the railard might be quite impressive. at least somewhere along this shore. But uh nice little bit of industry and it is drawing um some workers over via the ferry stop which is all very well and good. Of course nothing over here yet but these networks are picking up the occasional car as people find new ways in and out of Illium. Very nice to see.
We actually had an idea here for a port for the race circuit as if this is where perhaps you know cars or equipment is imported. Um which I really like the idea. I might actually do a car factory port here.
Although the the ships can't get under this bridge, can they? It's too low for them. So, maybe have to rethink that or change the elevation of the bridges, so containers can't come under here. We'll have to have a little look at that. Uh, all these networks here, of course, are very quiet cuz there's nothing been developed on them and they're all currently isolated, so there's nothing there. And then over, I'll stop over here. Again, this is isolated to the eastern side, so no one's using this ferry line yet. H we have our finished little area over here, uh, which is possibly one of my favorite bits of the city. This really nice inclusion of the layer with the intersection marking tool staircase trick as well. And people are using both sides, the curve path and the stairs. Um, in fact, even the elderly Sim here has just used the disabled ramp and then people are basically just parking down here.
I imagine to visit the attractions over in the hospital over here.
But really fun part of the city and nice to see so much insane transit connectivity around the city as well.
And over here, sorry, just to touch on this plaza um before we jumped away. Uh we have a taxi depot here which has just been fused with the airport perimeter fence. Just a bit of an awkward gap here between terminal and out of terminal space. And you'll see in the cinematics, there was quite a few people walking through here. Again, I think it's the race day rush that really hammers them through. Managed to capture some of it in the cinematics. And then just chucked in some prop planes as an indication of, you know, you are approaching Illium Regional Airport over here with some nice pathways linking people back into up to the various transit networks.
And it's all happy and flowing and there's trains and monail and metro and fairies. It's just all these wild snaking public transit networks. Um, incredibly satisfying area of the city, this one for me.
We can already see there's a a healthy population of ferry users actually making use of the network. Now, we'll enjoy a little sense of scurry here as people turn up.
There we go. Wonderful. So, just clearing the backlogs before they start to come in again. Very nice.
And that completes it. We'll also have a look over last episode's build as well, um, where we've actually formed up some more traffic here.
Just looks like bit of congestion moving down the central lane. It looks like Yeah, I think so. Blowing around the roundabout though for the last episode editions.
All well at home. Otherwise guys, that will do it for today. A massive shout out to the YouTube members and patrons that bank all these videos with a real call to our golden egg patrons.
