A practical demonstration of how fine-tuning gyro sensitivity and throttle response can transform chaotic mechanical output into precise, terrain-specific performance. It effectively bridges the gap between raw hobbyist enthusiasm and the technical nuances of electronic stability control.

ABSOLUTE CHAOS - UNBOXING, OVERVIEW, SIZE COMPARISON, FIRST RUN OF UDIRC 1203PRO SIERRAAdded:
kick and the back kicks up and they can't correct.
Welcome to Ready Set RC and today we have the UDIRC 112 scale Sierra. This is a 2 to 3S shortc course truck. But let's first touch on the BS. And what do I mean by BS is bought verse scent. Yes, this I purchased off of Amazon. I'll leave a link to it down below. That seems to drive a lot of conversation on content creator channels. If that's going to skew or alter the conversation in regards to if a RC was sent to you versus RC was was versus you buying the RC. I don't think it should. The reason why the key is is that they want their eyes. They want everyone to watch the video and they want everyone to keep coming back to watch videos. So, if you're not honest, why would anybody want to come back? That's just my thoughts on it. Getting into the Sierra, this thing looks impressive and was just one of the RC's that I felt that, hey, guess what? I like shortc course trucks and let's see what this one's all about.
instruction manual. Instructions on reading before you drive the car. I guess it's just telling you about how to play safely with the RC. They provide these little flags. This is cute. That's the truck all boxed up. Ooh, I wish they gave us the transmitter that I got in the brushless version of their trucks. But, uh, yeah, this will do the job. Um, you have a throttle limiter, which has 50, 75, and 100. Onoff switch here on the back. Batter is going to go down below. You got your steering trim, your throttle trim, and this is going to be for your gyro. Kind of neat. They're providing a gyro on something this small. Throttle reverse and steering reverse. Can do some one-handed driving.
The one thing I found with UDIC, they provide extra parts. So, these are extra arms upper and lower for the for the truck. Some hex wrenches, zip ties, T- wrench.
Okay, future me. After ordering the UDIRC Sierra, Maverick has released a Qite SC Pro and a buggy version of it.
So, the Pro comes with the same 60 amp ESC. Also has the 2845 brushless motor, 47 K, 4700 KV, 2S and 3S lipo ready. And I'll show you pricing that you'll end up getting to see are pretty close to the same pricing as the Pro, which is currently sold for $235 from Aane. also a flux version and the flux version is going to come with a 45 amp ESC. The motor is going to be a 2845 3800 KV brushless motor. Otherwise, all the other specs to my knowledge are the same. It does come in a variation of colors, green, red, and blue. And as I mentioned, it does they do have a buggy version of it of the Pro. Uh the buggy version is going to come in at $225.
It's also going to have that same uh 2845 4700 KV brushless motor and is going to have a 60 amp ESC. It is 2S and 3S rated. And then lastly, there is a flux version uh that is going to come in at $180. Uh that flux version is going to have a 2845 brushless motor, 3,800 KV, and it also comes with a 45 amp ESC on the Sierra, the 1203 Pro uh from UDIRC.
That is going you can get that down with a coupon to $239.99, $240.
Otherwise, the specs are fairly the same. There is a there is a version that is being sold for $320. No coupon, but it does come with the 3S lipo battery. I would pro I would go with the one without the lipo battery because you can easily source a lipo battery for a lot less. And there we have the truck. What also came in the bag with the instruction manual is some decals to go sticker this thing up.
We'll be doing that, too. I'll do that off camera. Oh, this looks good. Now, let's get the satisfaction part out of the way.
That really looks good. Oh, foam in the tires. Yes, suspension feels nice. And oh yeah, this is going to give us that body roll that we're looking for with our short course trucks. Yeah, this is going to look good. This is look good.
Let's get this thing decaled up and then we'll come back and talk about the specs of this truck.
Hey, hey, hey.
Now, I went ahead and sticker bombed it with the stickers I felt were appropriate for it and put some kind of where I thought they should quite be placed, but thought it came out pretty good. This always annoyed me on every video that I've seen because I don't know what a asphalt and legend is. So, the official name of this is going to be the UD1203 Pro. Going off of what I've seen on the truck, it's going to have a receiver and ESC that is separate. It's not in 21 option. Also, you're going to have a center differential installed on this that is going to tame this beast very well in the turns. has a programmable ESC, comes with a 2845 4700 KV brushless motor, and it looks like it comes with a 60 amp ESC, which is basically the same setup as this little beast. Has a sealed receiver box, a four channel receiver with built-in gyro, a light system that we can see on here, and it's it's I guess that's what the third channel is going to be controlling. There's adjustable links for camber and toe. Clipless body system that we can see that's on here, too.
Transmission on the truck is all sealed.
ESC and motor is rated for 2S and 3S capabilities. I ran the truck on a 50C lipo, so hopefully that's what we'll be putting in this one, too. The reason for the shocks feeling so smooth, these are going to be oil filled shocks and they are going to be adjustable with a screw down collar. Tires are feeling really good. These are rubber compound and they do have foam inserts. Transmission system is going to have a 38 to8 steel spurge gear and it's going to have a 10 to.8 steel pinging gear. All of the components in the drive system are steel.
has a good amount of weight to it. It has some girth to it. Let's get the body off so you can see what that looks like underneath. Just going to squeeze these points in. The body comes right off.
When you get the truck, it is going to be tethered to the light system. You're going to have to separate that off. But, as I mentioned, I didn't go too crazy with the stickers. I put what I thought was best underneath. You can see the body is backed with silver. The separate system for the driver sitting in there, the mounting system, and it does have a roll cage that's in there that goes from the front all the way to the rear. Body feels really thick. And there is some protective not all the way mounted in or not all the way stuck in some protection tape going around the wheel wells the side over here. Nothing up in the front, but we're going to drive it as is. Body feels good, guys. It feels nice and firm, but not too firm where it looks like it's going to break. As for the chassis, and we've seen this chassis before from UDIRC.
Transmission system, as I mentioned, all sealed up. Receiver box. It's locked in with a pin. This is your tether for your lights. Battery is going to be a fixed with a Velcro strap. You got your motor with the motor fan. ESC also with a fan.
Looks like steering components are all going to be composite. Universal drive sets in the front and also in the rear.
I really do like what UDIRC does with their cars. This is just built well. Hex hardware all throughout. I didn't mention this, but the shocks are metalbodied. I did mention that it has a collar to adjust the ride height, but the shocks are aluminum bodied and they feel good. They feel really good. Nerf bars on the side and this is also going to have a caption system for the body.
We're going to also have mud flaps kicking off in the rear and they This is probably the most secure mud flaps I've ever seen. We have two hex's locking those in. There are adjustments for your shocks upper and lower in the front and also in the rear. Composite style chassis and it does have a little bit of ground clearance going there. I'm not sure if you guys are going to pick that up. Mini size servo up here in the front. You got this rubber in the front, too. And this is back with a full bumper back there. Bumper has very little give, but I think it's going to hold up. As for the rear bumper, that feels good, too.
Little bit of give. That feels really good, actually. Coming off the ESC, we have an XT60 connector. Power switch is located right here on the top. Batteries that I've used in my UDIRC's before were those Turnigy smaller packs. They're 3.3s. Uh they're 3S packs. They fit perfectly in this. And this battery tray looks like it's going to be pretty generous to be able to fit that pack in.
So you don't you're not stuck with the 2.2 size or 2.2 packs that you have with most cars. The 3.3 should be able to fit in this really nice. Yeah, this thing feels the part, guys. I'm going to see how it holds up out there in the dirt.
But I think this is uh But I think we have a solid car here.
Let's get this thing in some dirt. Let's see what it's all about.
Little action on 50%.
And gyro is turned on.
This thing slides nice.
Now we're on 75%.
3S, guys. 3S.
I have 25% gyro on.
Yeah.
I want to save a little bit of the battery juice for uh off-road.
Yeah, windy day. Let's kick it up to 100.
Oh my god.
Holy crap.
Yes. Oh my god. UdiC.
Yes.
Let's turn those police lights off. Turn something a little bit more sensible.
You know what? The lights don't show show white out here. They look red.
Let's turn them off. I don't know. It looks red out here. Maybe it's my eyes, but Oh my god.
Yeah, this is a nut ball like the other one.
Is someone coming over here? Oh, they coming with their dogs. Yeah, this is crazy. This is crazy. All right, let's get this in some dirt.
Yes.
I don't know about that way. Let's try this way.
Lost a little grip there.
It's going to need a little bit more lift. Let's try it at 100.
Oh my god. I don't know if the jumps are going to be for it.
Holy crap.
Oh my god.
Still at 100, guys.
Heat. Heat.
Losing a little bit of grip out here. I think that's because it's at 100. Let's try it at 75 and grip.
A little bit better. Yeah.
Slow it down.
Doing a lot better out here. Now, let's take it on some grass. We'll flip it to 100 out there, though.
Range is really good. Wow.
Floored all the way in.
Oh my god.
Flip it back to 75 out here.
75. Much more controllable on this loose stuff. On the grass, 100 is where you want to be. Oh my god, it's ripping it out there on the grass at 100.
100.
Oh, yes.
75.
Excellent grip at 75 on here. You're not going to get the spin out.
Oh, hit a pocket right there.
Yeah, this thing is sweet. Once again, UDIRC, you've hit it out the park.
If you're going to drive it like this, I think this truck is perfect for it.
Little bit of asphalt driving, a little bit of dirt.
I don't know about the jumps.
I like my bigger trucks for the jumps because it just seems to control a little bit more, especially when the bottom slaps against the ramp.
These little ones, it tends to be a little bit hard for them. It hits the hits that they kind of do a donkey kick and the back kicks up and they can't correct.
Let's do some 100. Let's get it really going. Come on.
Yeah, that's the only thing is that the back gets really squirly once you hit 100% on throttle.
I wonder if I turn up the gyro. Let's do that. Let's see if that happens. I'm going turn to 50%. I really don't like my gyros being that high, but let's try it.
See if it keeps it.
Oh, yes. 50% gyro, 100%.
A lot more controlled. Oh, yes. Wow.
Yeah. A lot more controlled. 50% gyro.
100% throttle.
Yeah, lot more controlled in this loose stuff.
Nice little bit of throttle management. Full throttle right there. It's spinning out.
Really loose right there. Usually it's wet right there. So ah this dirt is killing me. It's all in my mouth.
Oh my god, I lost it in the dirt.
And I was tempted to get the ZD Racing one, but it just looks so fugly that I was like, "Oh, no way."
That's the one thing with ZD Racing.
They really need to get the looks down.
Just when you think they're there, their cars are just slightly off of where they should be.
Udirc.
They're killing it, man. They are killing it.
Oh, right around that.
Oh, yes.
Wonder if I can Oh, they do change color. Oh, that is fire.
Oh, if you hold it, it changes colors.
Oh, that's fire.
That's fire for you LED fanatics. Yeah, that's nice.
I didn't know that. I didn't know you could hold it, but that would be reading the instructions.
Either way, I slice it. I'm not a big LED person. I like that it comes with it. I probably wouldn't put LEDs on this though, but I like that it came with it.
Yeah, 50 C packs.
That's what you're going to want on these, man. These really do well with a good 50C pack.
I wish I had some whoops, but I tried my whoop on it. It didn't work. I need small whoops to scale for this.
I tried the Proline ramp and nah, donkey kicks. Oh my god, it's going to get all in my mouth.
Windy day.
I don't have my external mic, so I know the mic is dying on this camera.
Yeah. Wow. UDIRC, I'm telling you guys, this is one company to definitely check out what they're going to come out with for 2026 and for 2027. I have no idea, but I'm happy with what they've came out with for 2025 and 2026.
But check them out, Amazon. I'll leave the links in in the description below, but we're going to leave it here. Please like, comment, and subscribe. Check us out on Instagram for the latest post of the channel. This is Ready Set RC signing out. Thanks again, guys.
