Public opinion toward celebrities can shift dramatically over time due to a combination of cultural biases, media narratives, and personal choices; Meghan Markle's case illustrates how initial public fascination can transform into sustained criticism when individuals challenge established social norms, and how media coverage and personal interviews can either mitigate or intensify public backlash, demonstrating that celebrity reputation is not static but evolves through ongoing public discourse and media framing.

Why Has Everyone Turned on Meghan Markle?... again
Added:So, it turns out we all hate Meghan Markle again. I'm seeing all these articles recently about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to bring family to the UK for the first time in years. And I've already seen a little bit of hate online about Meghan Markle. And I also seen this Reddit post the other day which got me thinking about this already. This Reddit post where someone says, "Why is everyone so obsessed with hating on Meghan Markle?" And it's about the whole thing that no matter what she does, she's greeted with hate. And I've made about five videos in the past about hatred towards Meghan Markle and how Britain hates us. So, today's thesis answering that question. We're going to jump into the timeline to see if we can figure out where it all went wrong and why we all hate her so damn much.
2016 to 2018, the fairytale begins. Meghan Markle is already known for her role in Suits to many people, not to me. I never watched the show. I I'd only ever heard about Meghan Markle when she was involved with Prince Harry, but she was famous before then. She begins dating Prince Harry in 2016. Can you believe that? Can you believe it? Well, I don't know if that's long time or not a long time cuz technically that's 10 years ago, but it feels like it was yesterday.
The media has a frenzy about this. We've spoke about this so many times. There's the engagement announcement was in 2017 and the wedding took place in 2018. Once again, doesn't seem like that long ago, but it was a while ago. Britain went in.
Britain hated Meghan Markle. The royal family hated Meghan Markle. Everyone did. Why? Because she wasn't white. Two, because she was American. And three, because she kind of had like a little bit of an annoying essence about her.
And then when you put all those three things together, it just gave a lot of Britain reason to dislike her. Plus, Prince Harry was like the shining child of Britain. And it seemed like as he grew up, and this is what what we're already seeing throughout the timeline as he was growing up he was moving away from that image and we really didn't like that and we wanted someone to blame and we couldn't blame little sweet Harry so we had to blame someone and it just so happened he started gallivanting with this American woman.
Perfect person for us to project all of our hate on and all of our jealousy on.
2020 was the year that Harry and Meghan decided to leave Britain, leave royal life and leave to America also known as Megxit. They first moved to Canada and then they moved to California where I feel like they've been ever since. Do they still live in California?
Maybe.
But Prince Harry leaves his role as a working member of the royal family. At this point a lot of the public still just hate Meghan and they're kind of treating the situation from the British point of view like Meghan has stolen him away and brainwashed him and took him to America.
Britain still love Prince Harry. They just don't like Meghan.
2021 is the Oprah interview. Harry and Meghan sit down with Oprah and they go through all of this stuff, the lack of support from the royal family, mental health struggles, concerns about security and discussions regarding race within like royal circles. It's basically a tell-all. I think it backfired quite a lot where once again I speak I've spoken about this many times.
I don't know how the Americans view it but the British kind of saw it as why you're airing your dirty laundry out. Are you doing it for a paycheck? 2022, that's when the Netflix documentary came out.
If you haven't seen this it was this documentary kind of talking about the life of Harry and Meghan and how they left. It was kind of make them seem more relatable and it just once again came off a lot of it quite negative. If anything we started liking Meghan more and hating Harry more. It almost side even out a little bit which is why that the title of this video is that we hate Megan again because for the longest time there was all of this hate and at some point people kind of realized that she was treated badly by the British but all of a sudden I'm seeing more and more people talking about Megan again and more and more it's like creeping up to hate. I don't know if round America maybe there's like a lot of local or regional news where she's doing some negative things but we go back to that Reddit that I mentioned in the beginning.
Someone made a very good comment on that where they said people project everything and everyone they hate onto her and take it out on their own created image of her. Then they confirm and validate each other's opinions, values, and world well views and world views in the echo chamber which is very interesting to think where I think she had had so much hate she's never going to step away from all the hate. A lot of us grew up first only hearing about Megan in negative circles so it's very easy in times of stress especially for Britain like right now we're going through a crisis and it seems absolutely ridiculous but like with petrol and the cost of living going up a lot of people want to be angry and they want to be angry at something and they're looking for a reason to so as soon as you hear the newspaper say Megan's coming to town she gets the brunt of the hate for that.
