MIT Students Built A Wrist Band That Tells Your Muscles How To Move Using Claude AIHinzugefügt:
What these MIT students built this week genuinely stopped me for a second. A six-person team at MIT [music] built a wearable system called human operator. It's not a brain chip. It's not reading your mind. It's something more interesting. It's a band of electrodes you wear on your wrist and fingers connected to Entropics Claude AI and a small camera mounted on your head.
The camera on your head watches what's in front of you, a keyboard, an object, or another person. You speak a command, something like "Wave hello" or "Play this note." Claude takes both of those, what the camera sees and what you said, and figures out exactly which muscles in your hand need to move to do that action. Then the electrodes send tiny electrical pulses into those specific muscles. The muscles contract. Your hand acts. You stay in control. The AI just translates your intent into physical motion. Now, think about this for a second. More than 5 million people in America are living with some form of paralysis, and many of them have lost hand movement after a stroke. For a lot of patients, recovery takes years of rehab and physical therapy just to regain small movements again. That's the gap this system steps into. It doesn't cure paralysis. It guides muscle movement, retrains motor control, turns months of physical therapy into something that can happen faster [music] and at home. That's why the team won MIT's learn track. The people who understand these shifts early are the ones who adapt the fastest later. Follow for more updates like this.
