AirVenture 2026: DeltaHawk Shows More Engines, Applications

[00:00:10]It's the biggest showing we've seen from Delta Hawk engines. They're here at the show. They've been flying the seminal equipped with two Delta Hawk engines, but it's more than just that. They've got some uh engines that they're working on, their prototypes. Vans RV14 project and some other stuff. And John Hip's going to give us an update on it all.

[00:00:30]All right, John Hip, Delta Engines president um here at uh Air Venture 2026 update on where we are uh all the exciting things that have hap been happening at at Delta Hawk. So uh I think you've uh hopefully you've all seen that we've flown a seminal uh multi-engine counterrotating uh rotating and counterrotating uh uh engine. Um so we announced it last year and this year we flew it. So uh in in less than a year we uh we had first flights and we're continuing on that STC with um uh with that uh program. So otherwise um we have a lot of other um updates that we have.

[00:01:18]Uh we still have the traditional four cylinder that uh we're working on an STC for uh amended STC. Um, so we're going to be submitting that in the very very near future. Um, we've also, um, included a mockup of a sixcylinder.

[00:01:44]We're getting a lot of inquiries on a six. So this is in early design but um uniqueness of the six is that it shares 75% of the parts between the four and the six.

[00:02:03]So um we think we can get this uh we're looking to start first um engine testing uh Q1 of 27. We've also included uh a two-cylinder Um, again, 75% of the parts are um the similar. This is for light sport, so hopefully supporting the the mosaic uh airframes that are out there. Again, 75% of the parts are common. Um, we uh this one will be uh in not in production, but but be in test uh by the end of this year.

[00:02:44]So, we've we've started procuring the parts and um we're going to go from there.

[00:02:52]>> Horsepower. This is 80. And then we've announced uh well, we got a a nice new uh uh paint job on the RV14.

[00:03:03]Uh we are announcing that this is the final package.

[00:03:08]So, this is the configuration and it's complete now. So, we are starting to take orders for this firewall Ford package for an RV14.

[00:03:18]All of our our props are composite uh threeblade. Uh we can't because of our two-stroke um the two blade is from a harmonic standpoint, we needed to offset that with a threeblade. So, uh all of our all of our props will be three blades. Um we also have announced and started working on the STC for the 172 and 182. So this is uh um this firewall Ford package. Um we're very close to having this complete and uh we'll be submitting that in in the very near future as well. So all the learnings are from the SR20 that we've been flying. um that all incorporated into getting a the seminal uh as far along as an STC as we can. It's also the learnings of the RV14 and all the testing we've done. So, so deltahawk deltahawk.com is the is the website.
