When evaluating crypto catalysts, the flashiest news (like a new chain launch) doesn't necessarily benefit the token most; instead, catalysts that create direct demand for the token (such as spot ETFs requiring the coin to be bought and held) often score higher on token-level impact, while network-level improvements may not translate to token value until the technology actually goes live.

Altcoin Tierlist: Ranking the Biggest Crypto ETFs Coming This Fall
Added:We have five really big crypto catalysts that are all landing at some point in the next few weeks. Sort of all kinds of stuff, you know, like an ETF here, a new chain there, and there's even a switch that if it were to finally turn on, it's going to be a pretty big deal. We'll talk about that more in just a second.
And every one of these catalysts really is genuinely pretty bullish. The question, however, that nobody seems to want to ask is which coin actually wins as a result? Because very often the flashiest catalyst, let's be honest, or whatever variable you want to consider, isn't necessarily the one that represents the strongest coin or token.
So, we are putting all five of these catalysts on a single scorecard, scoring them live, and by the end the idea is we'll try to find out which catalysts actually score highest in favor of the coin's price. And here's how it works.
It is actually pretty simple. Every catalyst gets two scores, one of which is a network score, meaning does that particular variable actually help along the technology or benefit it in some way or another? And then, in addition to that, and secondly, there is the token score. This considers whether that good news in question actually reaches the coin or the asset that you may want to buy. That token score ranks this latter. And, of course, the highest score sits at the top. Let's fill this in now, and we'll begin first of all with Injective. The big news here, and the big variable, is a staked ETF, which is on the way as far as we're told as of this recording that could list as soon as October. And any fund participating in this ETF would have to buy Injective and lock it away, which as a consequence, obviously, would represent real and new demand, which is a good thing. As far as the network score, however, we're only able to rank this and score it a neutral 5.0 for the network because even if you feel an ETF is a good thing, it doesn't do anything to change the underlying technology, But, but we are giving it a token score of 6.2, which is bullish because like I said, the locked up demand is real.
Injective, if you think about it, is a relatively small coin, so the demand here is going to have an impact, but you know, 6.2 is just mildly bullish because as a smaller project, that demand only really goes so far. That is our first score. That's how it works. And of course, if you're new here, maybe you're wondering what all these scores mean. That's a perfectly reasonable thing to wonder about.
Basically, we've built out this new system that rates really everything moving, influencing a token's price or its network, whether it's positive or negative for the token, for the network.
It is all available at altcoinbuzz.com.
Early access is open now, but more on that later. Let's talk about Athena next. This is an exciting project because its fee switch is finally going to share real revenue with holders. It's something that obviously a lot of people are excited about, and theoretically speaking, every box is looking positive, is ticked with a vote targeted for the third quarter of 2026.
But pragmatically speaking, and in real life, the reality is that it has not yet been switched on. We are scoring this a neutral 5.0 for the network because kind of like our first example here, once again, the technology itself does not change. But as far as the token score, we're giving this a lightly bullish 5.7 because the payday is real.
Just kind of keep in mind that it's been one vote away now for a long time, about 10 months. And at 5.7, it lands just below Injective on our scoreboard. All right, next up here is Zcash, which of course is the first privacy coin ETF ever filed in the United States, and it's the most imminent catalyst that we're covering in this video. A decision could land any week. It just feels like it's coming relatively soon in the pretty near future. We are once again scoring this a neutral 5.0 for the network just because the network doesn't move here. It doesn't really benefit in one way or the other. It's not advantaged. It's not disadvantaged either. It's neutral. But we are giving the token score here a pretty bullish 7.5 because a first of its kind ETF is a pretty big deal. The market is under counting actually, I would argue. And at 7.5 it jumps to the very top of our scoreboard. We're excited about this one. It's a bullish development. Next we have layer zero, which of course is launching zero, a new chain built for Wall Street specifically. It's backed by some pretty heavyweight names including Citadel, ARK, and none other than the DTCC.
It launches in the fall of 2026 and ZRO is the only coin that powers it. And this is a pretty bullish development for the network. So we're scoring it a bullish 8.0. Correspondingly, that is the highest on our scorecard here when it comes to a network score because in this case the technology is affected and the tech leap is pretty huge. But we're giving the token score only a slightly bullish 5.7 right now. That's really as high as we can place it because unfortunately, despite the positive development here, barely any of the value actually reaches the coin at least until the chain goes live. So this is one of those examples where the network news is very strong, but it does not translate. It's not commensurate with the benefits associated with the coin, which in this case is most likely going to stay quiet. Last entry here on this list is Cardano. And of course we've been talking about this news lately. A spot ADA ETF with a decision that we're told we can expect around October 2026.
It's a pretty big deal and the part that matters is the fact that a spot ETF has to buy and hold real ADA, meaning by logical extension that it's going to create real and ongoing demand for ADA.
Finally, right? We actually broke this down in its own dedicated video. You can check that one out if you haven't already. We talk about the significance of this variable. We analyze it in kind of more granular detail. I'll also link to that one below, so check it out if you haven't already. But, as far as this news, we're scoring it a neutral 5.0 for the network because really the network itself doesn't change. The token score, however, does accrue a lot of the benefits here.
That's going to get a bullish score of 8.0 because that direct demand is really the strongest case in the group. And so, it does steal our top spot here on the scoreboard when it comes to token score.
If and when this happens, it's going to be, we feel, very positive for ADA. But, look, as with anything really in this world, crypto or otherwise, a single variable, a single consideration, is really just part of the full picture here, and as such, a single catalyst is really just part of any one coin's story. You're going to want to zoom out.
You're going to want to consider the wider perspective, and in this case, the full scorecard here. Every catalyst, which we score, of course, when you do so, the picture not only sharpens, but sometimes it shifts, right?
Uh for example, looking at the scorecard here, if we add up every score for every catalyst on each coin, it's kind of surprisingly actually not Cardano on top. It is Zcash.
And that's because, as you can see here, Cardano's ETF is a positive, as we just discussed, yes, but it's just that one single variable, right? It's just that one bright spot on, in this case, an otherwise kind of flat scorecard. Zcash by contrast is the only coin here that stays bullish once you count every other catalyst. And so, kind of zooming out and considering the totality of everything that may be affecting a project, its coin, its network, that wider perspective is probably one that you ought to take whenever possible. That is the whole idea. That's what we're trying to accomplish here and you can see every coin's full scorecard, also run your own bags if you wish against it. All of this is free at altcoinbuzz.com.
