[00:00:00]Is NGS mandatory and what is NGS actually? NGS stands for next generation sequencing. Herein we sequence the entire genetic material of the cancer cells. We go from the cellular level to the microscopic level of the DNA of the cancer cells, the RNA of the cancer cells and the protein that is expressed by them.

[00:00:22]The entire information has been captured by next generation sequencing wherein we sequence all the genes in the cancer cells and get a report, comprehensive report. Here we identify something called as targetable mutations. There are few mutations in lung cancer which are actionable.

[00:00:41]To name them, they are EGFR mutation which is common in 30% of the cases, ALK 1 mutation, ROS1 mutation, PDL1 mutation and specific mutations like KRAS G 12C. There is a specific drug available for all these mutations.
