I Broke My Wife’s 500WHP EVO 8 And Fixed All The Issue!

[00:00:01]Well guys, we have an issue on Jaylen's evil. Let me go ahead and explain what happened. So, this was technically my fault. It all started with after work. I went to go ahead and do a quick one, two pull, and then as soon as I tried to hit to third gear, the clutch pedal synced out and I thought at first the clutch sleeve went, but I just remembered I did replace it with the OEM part. So, I put on the side, I checked everything. I checked the clutch sleeve. It was good.

[00:00:26]Fluid is all good. No sign of leaks whatsoever. I went back in the car, pulled the pedal back, and I tried to engage it. The clutch pedal was super, super stiff. So, luckily, I was only a block away from my job. So, I went to bring the car back to the shop, did a quick look at it, or see what's going on with the clutch, and I found that the retainer clip had separated. Now, if you guys know on Evos, the retainer clip on the pressure plates that clips on with the throttle bearing are the weakest point. Every time you do hard shifting or do launches, they get weak over time.

[00:01:00]So, this guy right over here, you can see that broken off. So, at first I thought the clutch was bad. Now I know it's still good. This is a competition stage three clutch that came with the car when I first bought it. The transmission was leaking. Well, there was a leak between the transmission and the T case. Come to find out, after removing the T case, separated from the transmission, the O-ring over here was missing.

[00:01:26]So, I don't know how long has that been going on for, and that's something I was kind of worried about. And of course, the TK's fluid was low, too. So, need to go ahead and get that topped off.

[00:01:36]Everything over here on the transmission looks good. So, we are going to be replacing with the OEM throttle bearing along along with the ACT monolock over here and seals. We're going to go ahead and get this installed, everything back on the car, and this should be the fix.

[00:01:52][music] >> [music] [music] [music] >> It is now the next morning. So, I got the transmission back on.

[00:02:22]Snap the clutch fork or the throttle bearing onto the act model lock. Now we're good to go. Put the clutch stick back on the transmission and I just checked the clutch pedal field.

[00:02:32]Everything else is good to go. So, we're halfway there of installing everything back on dealer's car. This car is going to be running on the street real soon.

[00:02:40]Car is 100% complete. New fluid is in and TK's transmission. Batteries connected. Everything is is good to go.

[00:02:47]So, we're going to go ahead and start up the car and see how the car engages.

[00:02:50]Clutch pedal feels good. Shifter feels good.

[00:02:54]Let's fire up the girl.

[00:03:08]Got to make sure I have everything connected. So, I totally [music] forgot.

[00:03:11]Every time that you disconnect the battery and you reconnect the battery, it's going to flash back to the pump gas map. So, [music] we have to switch the map to ethanol and then the car will run good.

[00:03:28]There you go. Now we can fire up the girl.

[00:03:36]Much better now.

[00:03:59]Well, we just broke down. I swear this car is just nothing but problem. But good thing is that it's just an easy fix. The heater hose right over here is the right side. As you can see, it blew.

[00:04:14]So, that's not a big problem. But the problem is I don't even have coolant. I only have a small little quarter of water to top it off. But I think we're close enough to get into the exit to where I can pull off and then get some water, top it off, and then at least try to drive it home as far as I can. But oh man, I just saw the temperature just rising up and I had to stop and I just heard pissing. So that's really unfortunate. So we stopped by a terrible gas station. I got three water bottles over here. I know this is not going to be enough. But I'm going to take these empty bottles, go back into the gas station, and fill them up in the bathroom sink. And hopefully we should be fine. I know it's going to start leaking by the time you're driving it, but we should be able to make it home.

[00:05:05]We're probably I don't know, my guess will be 15 minutes away. So, if it does start overheat, then I'll stop by somewhere else and grab more water and then just keep topping it off and go from there. All right, guys. We're back on the road on the freeway. So, if this can hold on until we get to our exit, then all we need to do is just coast down to Ann's road to home and then we should be good.

[00:05:29]Lucky lucky thing that we didn't overheat it so bad. They only went up to like 34. Stop number two. Terrible as kid. But this time on An's road.

[00:05:40]Had to pull over again. Car started overheating just a bit. But as soon as it cools down, I'm going to top it off again. We should able to make it home.

[00:05:49]We're like about 10 minutes away now. I can't believe it. But then it of course this cooling hose has never been replaced. It was bound to happen.

[00:05:57]I think I had to replace like two hoses from the past years. Not actually replacing it. It was more like just cutting it short and then just putting it back on. But this time around, I'm just going to replace all the cooling holes so that way we're not going to have this issue.

[00:06:20]All right, we're two blocks away from home. It's not overheating again.

[00:06:26]just went about to turn in. I'm hearing all the hissing noise and it's just starting to overheat. But thankfully, we just made it home now. We just received all brand new cooling hoses for Jaylen's Evo. But before we go ahead and get those installed, there's another problem that we need to replace on our car, and that is the open dump broke right off. I don't know when it happened. All I remember is that when I was doing the clutch at the shop, I realized it was not there. So, that is a MAP open dump and they are discontinuous. They don't even make it anymore. I went to go ahead and buy a replacement. This is the VR speed factory open dump and it's a nice quality look. Came with the gasket. Now, I bought this from my friend from Facebook Marketplace. He had it for a while. I'm surprised nobody bought it.

[00:07:15]So, we bought it and very excited to go ahead and get this installed. So, that way we don't have to worry about going on full boost. Every time wastegate opens, it goes directly to power steam pump and AC compressor. Now, of course, we got to have to pull the whole turbo kit off to get the open dump installed.

[00:07:32]So, first thing, of course, we got to have to remove the front bumper. The car is so low, I can't even jack up the side anymore because the extension.

[00:07:39]So that'll be a lot easier to get the car raised up and then we can start swapping the open dump and get that taken care of.

Now before we go ahead and get the turbo kit installed back in Jaylen's Evil, there's another issue that I really want to take care of. It's not a big issue, but it really bothers me is the titanium studs right there. As you can see, there is no color on it anymore after we got the cylinder head resurfaced and hot tank.

[00:10:01]That's where all the burnt color went away. What I want to do is that I want to take all these studs out. We do have my cylinder head right here with the burnt stud. I want to take these guys and put it on Jaylen's one. Now, you guys already know why I'm swapping all my parts again on Jaylen's car. It's not like my car is going to be running anytime soon. I can always order a new one or maybe figure out how I can bring the burnt colors back on these studs.

[00:10:25]But let's go ahead and get that swapped out and then we can go ahead and put the turbo kit back on. [music] [music] >> [music] [music] >> Heat. Heat.

Just a reminder of all you 4G63 or any similar head that has oil port galley, just make sure that you put some sealant on the thread cuz if not, you're going to leak through oil and it's just going to be a mess. So, don't forget that. [music] [music] Heat. Heat.

[00:12:04][music] [music] [music] >> [music] >> turbo kit is back on the car. Two harnesses, the O2 sensor and the crankase harness are routed on the side.

[00:12:47]Got it zip ties to the power steering line, so it always gives a good look.

[00:12:51]We've been doing this for quite a while now, but I figured I'd just let you guys know how it looks. That way you guys can do the exact same thing than rather having the harness go over the valve cover. Now, we had a big issue when tightening up the manifold. This stud over here, I was tightening the nut and the stud kept pulling out and as you can see, it pulled the thread right off of it. It's not a super big deal. I did apply some thread sealant on it and I just snugged it just the way it is. I'm just going to leave it for now. I would actually like to get that taken care of, but at the same time, the only way that it's going to work and without having any material that goes into the engine is by popping the head off again, which I don't really want to do as of right now. But as long as it doesn't leak, then we should be fine. We'll take care of it sometime down the road. Before we go ahead and install the radiator, let's go ahead and replace all the coolant hoses with new silicone coolant hoses right here. These are the TT Racing brand. First time I ever used these brands before. I'm very excited to use it. This one will give a nice clean look. So, let's go ahead and get that replaced and then we can start putting the radiator back in. [music] [music] [music] >> [music] [music] >> Hey, [music] hey, hey. [00:15:19]>> [music] >> New coolant hoses are in. Radiators installed. Cooling fluid is all topped off. Ready to start up the car, bleed the cooling system, and make sure that we don't have any coolant or oil leaks.

[00:15:33]So, let's go ahead and just run the car.

[00:15:35]We'll probably run it like about maybe 5 minutes and then we can start putting the bumper back on. Check the oil level on the dipstick. I just put a quart of oil, which that's what it kind of looks like when it came out when I disconnect the oil return. And then we'll just double check everything. Just make sure there's no any leaks, like I said. And then we can start moving forward to other things that we need to fix on this car.

[00:16:33]All right. So, we've been running the car for about 10 to 15 minutes with the heater on. No sign of any oil leaks or cooling leaks, which is good. I didn't get to check the oil dipstick just yet, just because the car is still on jack stand. Um, I'm going to do that once we lowered down the car and then I'll check it. Like I said, there is a few more things I really want to take care of.

[00:16:51]Since we have the bumper off, I figured this might be a little bit easier just in case if we need to pop the headlights out. But we need to fix the fog lights.

[00:16:58]As you guys know, we do have the JDM headlights. And one thing about these headlights is that the fog lights connectors are different. I do have the adapter which goes from the H11 to the 9006, but unfortunately on the passenger side, if I can go ahead and show you guys. I did use a dialectric grease just to see if it will help. But the pin inside there is kind of melted. So, it's a poor contact to the adapter that we have to our fog light. The driver side works. I do have the new connector that we can go ahead and remove the factory H11 connector here. Put this guy. That way, we can plug into our 96 fog light for our JDM headlights.

[00:19:47]Oh man, it looks so freaking good. I can't wait to drive this at night time and see how it looks. So, I've been driving Jaylen's car for the past 2 days, ever since we put the turbo kit back on, change all the coolant hoses, bled the coolant system, and it's been running good so far. But, let's go ahead and move on to the other next problem.

[00:20:09]As you guys can see, only the left side turn signals works.

[00:20:14]So, I do have a replacement bulb.

[00:20:17]This guy right here. So, let's go ahead pop the cluster out. We can get that turn signal fixed.

[00:20:24][music] [music] [music] [music] Here [music] [music] is the part number for the bulb. It will be mark A. They're all the exact same thing. It will be the top [music] left ball right there for the turn signal.

[00:21:07]So, one last thing we need to fix before we end the video. And hopefully that's just about it. As you can see, our sensor is just hanging. We do have that bracket or that billet right there that it's supposed to hold it in place, which is this guy right over here. If you guys remember back in November, I did install the flex fill bracket. The sensor sits right over here. This piece over here holds the sensor in place. What I think that actually happened is that these two screws over here had backed out over time, and that's why I lost this piece.

[00:21:35]And the only way to get that piece is to get the whole thing again. I'm not only going to use this piece, some red loctite to prevent the screws backing out again.

[00:21:48][music] [music] [music] >> [music] [music] [music] >> Flex fill bracket is on and the Tommy heat shield is all nice and cleaned up. That has been bothering me for quite a while. And that's okay part is that having this heat shield, I mean, it looks so good, but when you drive in the rain or wash a car, all that water just goes right through the vent on top over there. So, I know that I haven't been really consistent of cleaning it off all the time. I've been just kind of letting it go, but it still clean up nice. Now, before I go ahead and end the video, I just want to let you guys know that me and Jaylen are very, very excited to announce that we're going to be entering her evil aid in the Just Dance car show here locally Las Vegas Convention Center. And we are very, very excited to do this because this is our very first time that we ever enter her car in the car show, especially inside building, which is one of one of my bucket list that I've always wanted to have her car or my car.

[00:23:23]I mean, my car is still down though. But to have that experience in the car and the building, I've always wanted to do this and I am very excited to get that one on the list checked out of our bucket list. Now, we really don't expect anything other than just to have a good time with our friends and family. And for those who supports the channel as well too and been following along on the Instagram page as well, we just want to have a good time. And we also wanted to experience how it feels like to enter our car, especially a big car show here in the mainland.
