This content successfully challenges traditional reef-keeping dogmas by highlighting the critical balance between alkalinity and metabolic fuel. It offers a sophisticated reminder that biological health should dictate chemical parameters, rather than the other way around.

Importance of Coral NutritionHinzugefügt:
The numbers are kind of interesting cuz I've been playing around with that a lot. In the past, I've run the tank as high as like 20 dKH for alkalinity.
>> Uh-huh. And no losses in corals or anything in that regard. So, that kind of showed me that those numbers are kind of a point of reference for you, depending on where you run your tank and what nutrients exist in there because you can pretty much keep your alkalinity at whatever value you want as long as you can compensate for the tissue growth and the nutrients that the corals require to build their tissue. And sometimes you might see that like burnt tip or that alk burn. And since I've been feeding a lot more and being able to regulate that, I no longer have that exhibited within my corals. Thinking about it as like a balance of the mineralization capacity of the corals, their ability to build skeleton, but also their ability to cover that skeleton in tissue, right? Right. Cuz that tissue is potentially up to like 40% lipids. There's a lot of fats within the coral itself, right? When you see a a really healthy acropora, it's not really like shrunken in or sucked in, that dehydrated look. Right. And usually when you you see that, that's just a an indicator for you to feed the system more.
