[00:00:00]What is something you need to forgive yourself for?

[00:00:03]>> Being an alcoholic when I was a young mom. I was the primary breadwinner and the primary carer for three kids, and I expected myself to be in two places at once. And alcohol's really good at taking you from super stressed to almost comatose within a couple of hours, but I haven't had a drink now for over 20 years.

[00:00:24]>> And what was the turning point when you stopped drinking?

[00:00:28]>> I always thought I won't live to a great age cuz I drink a lot. And you never care [music] cuz you think, oh, I've just as long as I've got another 15, 20 years, I'll worry about that in the future. I started to feel really ill, and I started to not plan things if [music] they were like 6 months away.

[00:00:43]And then it got to the stage where I didn't know if I'd make it to the end of the week. [music] And then I thought, [ __ ] hell, I do want to live a bit longer than a week, you know, come on.

[00:00:54]>> What keeps you motivated to stay sober?

[00:00:57]>> I wake [music] up every morning now, and I still have that feeling of like, oh my god, I'm healthy, I'm here.

[00:01:05]I've got a whole 'nother magnificent day ahead of me. I just feel so [ __ ] lucky to be alive and well. [music] Nothing would make me drink again.
