Leafy rhipsalis-showcasing rhipsalis-epiphytic cacti

[00:00:01]Hello. In this video, I would like to show you my so-called by me leafy ripsalis leafy [music] because they stems resemble leaves. But as we know these are not leaves or they are modified leaves. They're just called branches, stems, clades.

[00:00:22]Anyway, I think that those types of ripsalis are underestimated. They are not as much appreciated or popular [music] as those with spaghetti like branches, thin branches.

[00:00:39]And I think they are really [music] beautiful.

[00:00:42]So here first you can see some examples of my riaris elliptica or pachipera. I've already made a video about uh this kind of plant, so check it out.

[00:01:01]And uh they are, as you can see, the stems are quite big and they I've got quite a few of them in my collection. The flowers are medium size, I would say, for ripsalis.

[00:01:22]and they are just so pretty.

[00:01:55]And also of this ripikica and pipera they flower for me in winter which is a bonus because not many plants flower at that time and those plants that you can see now they are slow grower for [music] me.

[00:02:18]This is what this plant looks like. And now it's now outside in the shade, but you can still see that it's a bit sunstressed.

[00:02:29]And this one is definitely elliptica.

[00:02:32]The clades are much smaller in that particular plant. And you can see some are of red color, some of green. Fea uh from winter and this one is a size gelana.

[00:02:53]So it's a big specimen with that small flowers.

[00:02:59]And what's interesting is that Gelana is quite often sold under the name of Chrisa which looks different.

[00:03:10]Those flowers look like little stars.

[00:03:17]And this website goana has got a bit of scalloped stems.

[00:03:27]I think it's really pretty.

[00:03:30]And next to it I've got rialis which came under the name of platicada.

[00:03:34][music] In one of the groups someone said that it's another name for accidentalis.

[00:03:41]Um I'm not sure whether it's accidentalis or still goalana but this one uh might be a bit different clone of goalana but the growth is a bit different and most of the stems are a bit thinner in comparison to the goalana which we've just uh seen. The flowers are very similar or not the same.

[00:04:05]So who knows but does it matter? really like I like this plant. Anyway, it's another quite big specimen in my collection.

[00:05:10]Now let's move on to ripples.

[00:05:13]So this rip is quite big. The [music] stems are thick and huge. Look at this. So [music] when I have to lift the pot, it's really heavy. So there's a bit of creation of the stems. [music] And for such a big plates, the bats are small and the [music] flowers are mini. They are microscopic.

[00:05:47]However, when they turn into fruit, then the fruit when it's rip ripe, it's pink. So, it looks really beautiful when when the stems are covered in pink fruit.

[00:06:03]It's a slow grow grower for me.

[00:06:20]Okay, let's move on to the next one.

[00:06:27]And this is Ripalis Oblong.

[00:06:32]Another one with um frilled margins of the or edges of the leaves uh modified leaves and this one is fast grower. Uh this rip size doesn't have ID.

[00:07:12]It hasn't flowered for me yet, but it's gorgeous.

[00:07:17]stems are quite big and some of them they've got red margin and again it's undulating.

[00:07:27]So any photos of flowers that you can see they are from this year.

[00:07:46]It doesn't grow really fast.

[00:07:49]Another one is basi slow grower for me.

[00:07:57]And I'm not sure last year I had one [music] single flower and I can't remember whether it was that one or or oblong but I remember it was quite small flower pretty scalloped stems and here we've got a kunata suspicious Australis. There's another one which I don't have in my collection which is Kunata suspicious Kunata. And that one as you can see this is some uh created um again but narrow stems.

[00:08:47]Moving on now to Rambia. Another fast grower. Every time when I look at this plant, there's a new clay.

[00:08:58]Really beautiful again with a bit of red edge or margin of this around the stem.

[00:09:09]Hasn't flowers for me either.

[00:09:16]As you can see, it's small in comparison to the other plants, the clays themselves. And here we've got riesized crisp butter. So you can clearly now see the difference between gollana which is sold as I said as Chris pa and this one is crisp butter. And here we can see really frilled stems beautiful.

[00:09:41]I would say medium growth. And I was thinking whether to include in this presentation says Mikranta from [music] Rhuru.

[00:09:50]But yes, I think the stems resemble leaves.
